..oh I let 'em pass me all the time here on the streets. Thats ok, I enjoy my EVing and my 60+MPG & 800+ miletank, I don't care, I meet up with 'em at the next light anyway...whoopee-doo. Unless its in the hands of a skilled driver, the V would not easily get 600, afaik. I know theres a big thing about the 600 tank on a V...crap, I do that hooning like a gas moron with no hypermiling and a lot of folks here get that freeway as the 600+ mile club shows.

Welcome to the forum & :congrats: I own a 2013 White Platinum SEL, build date Oct2012 as well....so,,, :rockon: If you are going to do a fair bit of highway, set the car in 66 mph "eco cruise" and let the car charge up and run. Enjoy the car and it will give you more MPGs when you understand and apply hybrid driving techniques. Its like getting your 1st Nunchucks and twirling it but it will take a bit to become the Bruce Lee till you understand what the Nunchuck is and what it can do and how to use it :drool:

Interesting theory but nope. I hear always hear the fan on as its hot here in LA and I always use EV+ to finish on the top of the hill where my garage is. Plus I probably EV more than anyone here as well so the batts is more used than ICE. Start it the next day, fine...

9400, broken in ICE - imho and Matt will back me up with what he has seen, I would confidently say: wait for it....NOT YET. You'll see MPG improvements all the way 30,000. My number this summer is BETTER than last summer at the same time and same route. Yeah, I got gas pods now - surely that is not the difference? ICE, definitely. I am running about 70% to 78% EV per tank in the city so my ICE is hardly use and my lifetime is showing a little bit more ICE use at approximately 55% EV miles overall (I think, I need to check) at almost 35,000 miles on the odo. Jus enjoy the car Nick, screw the MPG...no need to prove anything except toaster reviewers can't drive real hybrids even if they paid for their own car and drive in a circle..-ouch - :runaway:

EV+ allocates additional charge when you are near the most common stopping point. However, there is a limit to the SOC and then the car will kick in ICE to recharge if you go below that. The CMax does NOT allow you completely drain the Li-Ion - no way. I typically do not let it get that low as I do not want the car to start in ICE when I just turn it on, jus my peeve. You can teach your CMax to learn the EV+ spot by turning the car ON&OFF (like you are starting the car and then turning it off) cycle about 11 times. I've had at most 3 locations on EV+ and I have not seen anymore number than that. Now, it will kick into the EV+ mode typically about 500 - 600 yards from your destination. I have one on the golf range and when I drive past it on the highway and not quite there yet, it will turn on - then it will turn off and as I come around to the entry road, it will find it and turn on back the EV+ so it's "circular range limit", if you get my drift.

This confirms everything us ole timers have been saying and saying and saying...this is a 47MPG car and I bet you were not even trying to squeeze every MPG out of it as well. That reflects all my trips to Mammoth and back where I average 45-47MPG round trip. So, if I apply to Consumer Report to be a toaster reviewer, do you think I might make it past the front door? I am very good at disguises...Zorro, Spiderman....CMax Man.. :flyaway:

Of course, I told them to drive a Prii first and then drive a CMax and then they will see what a superior car the Prii is. I also laid out your line, press the accelerator and then wait... :waiting:tick, tick, tick ...wait.... :waiting: ..."tick, tick, tick...waiting anytime now for the CMax to accelerate....tick, tick, tick...." :redcard: I know me bad. AAA was the insurer of the driver that tboned my wife, nearly killed her but the car saved her, she had physio & chiro. The driver admitted fault and AAA offered a piddly settlement in person that same weekend which my wife rejected with a laugh and then a week later denied fault - claiming my wife was at fault in the tbone. Luckily my wife tracked down a witness behind her and they changed their tune along with our attorney that hammered AAA. That is why I said people lie here. In my case, they delayed and I was expecting them to throw a lie in there - there is no reason for a rear ender to take this long - its utter BS. Luckily(or unluckily) as I was carried away in an ambulance, the LAPD had to file a report and dinged the driver for DUI and failing to render assistence. My wife did not have any report since it was sheriff who was there to guide the traffic...she should have gone in an ambulance, imho. LA is a city of lunatic drivers and dangerous to drive, you never know and you also need uninsured driver clause in this city as well...

Guys, guys, guys - its the new HYBRID reality that as soon as you have batts involved, there will be and could be issues. I think you're all missing the boat here - find a GREAT dealership who is knowledgeable and will take care of you and know Ford will back up and look into any issues. Just because its :airquote: not fixed yet, does not imply Ford does not care or is non-nonchalant about it. If anyone has a dead battery or any issue, we also have a Ford Rep here on this forum - Crystal, feel free to PM her.

RobMax - jus remember to take a pic and we will be more than happy to add you to the 600+ CMax Club. Take a look at thread - we have a LOT of drivers hitting 600+, so much for the lowly MPG numbers from the toaster review company who are FAMOUS for buying their own toaster so they have no undue influence. Hey Nick - I jus had a thought....is it possible that these toaster reviewers got a :hi5: promotion to be test hybrid car :rating: drivers? May be so....

...is it me, or is there something special about the Cmax seating. I don't sit down in a lounge chair as I feel in a Jaguar. I never knew how comfortable it is to sit in a more vertical upright position with easy in & out. Whatever they come out with, if they can give me that - like I said, I'm all for it.

DD is right, Singoffpitch. Ford won't be the only one to do recall and not the last, even with a NEW model. Look at the Prius - how many generations did Toyota have in this car and they have far more recalls and more SERIOUS recalls than the CMax. As for loaners, if your car was an high end Aston Martin or even a Jaguar, the dealer would not hesitate to give you a loaner. I know, thats what Galpin does for my Jaguar. Galpin Ford, being more mainstream aka common, low end market cannot afford to have a loaner each time a Ford comes in...but there is nothing to stop you requesting it, all they can say is "no"...like trying to date a girl ;)
