  1. Ok, someone do the math to figure when the cost for this can be recouped since these are way more than our gas pods ;) ps nice post ptjones
  2. @obob - Thanks for that post obob, that should be in the News & Article section but unfortunately, I can't move single posts around. Here, here. Jus my 2c...thank goodness this is a numbers issue, and not a life threatening issue like what GM did with their ignition switch. For me personally, I like that Ford fess up. While I hear the noise about bragging rights, loss of resale (add in the great Yuo Bryner here to speak for me) :airquote: etc etc etc :airquote: - I'll be honest, I don't care anymore. My CMax has more than lived above the 47/47/47 original rating. And unless someone come up with a 60+ MPG CMax, I will keep this car till the wheels comes off and the front hood pitted with chips and adding -5MPGs. This is my world and my driving condition - and I am more than thankful for Ford to bring this great, utilitarian car to me. I understand the CMax and how to maximize it to give me the fuel costs savings & take my wife & I to snow places safely in comfort & niceties. Looking forward to the $475 from Ford, and it's one less car payment for my family. Oh, my  4th 800+ tank this week and I didn't even run out or close to it :love_shower:
  3. ...your LIKE just went up tremendously
  4. I have one at my work. Was going to park Maxine next to that car BUT its way hot here in the San Fernando valley so I opt to park my car under a tree for cooler temps. Gray SEL with pano roof.
  5. ECO route option is a great start. However, if you drive this car for 9 - 5 for work, then its worth scouting the roads. Major hints: 1. Look for roads that have timed traffic lights 2. 35-40mph 3. Less travelled the better 4. Less traffic lights the better 5. Do go out a little way if the route is down-slope. Rolling hills should NOT be avoided, you can leverage some "umpf" from them 6. Do not go out of your way if you have to head home uphill. Go short and save the gas for the trip out. Understand that what you save in the gas & get high MPGs, you lose in time. Its a trade off. For me, I enjoy these MPG games to save $$$ in gas ($4+ gas here in LA), and my routes are almost perfect and the daily MPGs reflect this. If you are a newbie - this forum contains A TON of info to read up on. Some of it is old like 13b07 (which use to enforce a limit EV to 63 mph) but some threads/posts hold true especially by us "old" hypermilers. :)
  6. no...no, it was not that high...64.1 dear :wub2: and a 4th 800+ tank. I do get between 86.1 and 81 MPG going to work though, peak hour driving  Snowstorm & SDM regularly get post 60+ MPG tanks so its definitely possible and everyone can look forward to that...jus gotta understand the car. Sorry...lets get back to the TOPIC.
  7. Impressive Snowstorm & +3, thanks!
  8. Like: MAMMOTH MPG numbers. Hello summer :) Dislike: Sidemirrors. Whoever designed these wind sails that stick out on the side with no aero enhancements should be fired.
  9. ...thats the selling point of the CMax - Ford Motor Company (DO YOU HEAR US) should really focus on these aspects :skateboard:
  10. ..and you will take a Subaru over a CMax? I always wanted one, but it has to have an "STi" badge somewhere though ;) ( would also settle for a "GTR" badge somewhere on another car too  ).
  11. Thats the way Dave  Bonus point IF you spot another "Galpin" plate ;)
  12. State of Confusion cannot be worse than my state *sigh* :drop: ...but I digress, WELCOME TO OUR WEE CMax forum & :congrats: :victory:
  13. Nothing special to report. Spent yesterday driving from home to golf course, to gym and back to golf course and pulled the car in, 63MPG. Driving to work today, I was actually low at 77MPG and then golf course, gym and home and finished the day at 62MPG. All city. Infact, if anythng, the DHA slowed me down momentum wise when I was going downhill like it was suppose to do. I think what Brother Mike might be experiencing is the DHA boosting his SOC instead of him riding the regen (assuming he even does this). Higher SOC = more EV. But for those who use the momentum, its counter productive. Jus my 2c....damn, running out of pennies here... :skateboard: No noticeable "jerkiness" either at stop. I try not to stop but when I have to....
  14. Ewh...thank goodness I ain't coming over  &
  15. LOL, no worries. I keep my seat up all the time and lay my bag across the seat. My pull cart goes in the back. Other than that, I never have my bag in the car unless its play day. Never take the chance. Hit it well
  16. Welcome Mildred, you'll :flirt: the car. My top most suggestion is for the first 2 tanks, just drive it like your previous car. This will tune you to the sound of the CMax (or lack there of) and the way the CMax drives & corners. It also gives you time to read the many posts here and get your MPG juice flowing. I will say this: the CMax will reward those who pay careful attention to the road and how they manage the internal combustion engine (ICE) and the electric (EV) engine. While seemless, there are times to switch from ICE to EV at the whim of your right foot. It's simple but it does take a little while for you to understand and FEEL how to "feather" the pedal (as I coined it here). Congratulations and welcome to the forum. Ask away any questions and do also check out the CMax Bar where a number of owners have posted up pictures of their precious CMax. We do :love_shower: our CMaxs here. :victory:
  17. You whimps..turning the ac on when its 100 outside. ;) :flyaway:
  18. I have similar self built covers like ptjones. From my observations, with both covers on, the temps will trigger the over heat warning on long grade climbs, typically like what you find going from LA to Vegas or climbing Sherwin grade, north of Bishop. We are talking of at least 5+ miles. Or if you climb the 15 on the Cajone pass and it does not help if you climb at freeway speeds of 65 mph. I typically climb with 2 to 2.5 bars and the warning was coming on. May be my car is special but it goes off everytime... Also for city driving, at much lower speeds, the lower grill cover - imo - adds more resistence. I am finding better roll with the lower grill covers off. If you look at it, it's like a bucket that traps the air vs letting the air flow thru and under. Essentially, I am saying, keep the middle cover on but let the air flow for the bottom. I will climb the Cajone pass in a weeks time and see if just keeping the middle cover on will trigger an overheat warning. Last time, it was embarassing as I was going up SLOWER than the trucks on the right most lane and my temps were peaking, 2000 rpm and not more otherwise...you guess it. Be warned and as ptjones said, keep an eye on the temps. Last time I posted this, ptjones said he improved the design so those with his new plates may be better off. I have no intention to change mine, at least not yet... Jus my 2c.
  19. Intriguing. I don't even use this feature on the steep & long downgrades - hate the noise and imo, having the ICE mpg 60+ seems less than the blue EV mpg 60+ .I am doing a gym run today and I usually score 94 to 105 so lets see if this down grade assist button on will make any difference. Good eyes Brother Mike....oh by the way, go check out the Bar thread - I left a special post for you Bro ;)
  20. On an executive course ;) ...in jest  :congrats: By the way: since i know you go to the range alot and sometimes may NOT carry the whole bag - look under the rear seats. You'll see there is a nice gap where you can slide at least 4 or 5 clubs up to a 3 wood underneath it. Keeps the clubs away from the views of any would be thieves but as long. And as you don't carry any 300+ lb golfing buddy who needs to sit in the back seat, it's a great place to store the clubs in the car. The CMax has amazing holes & gaps to put our sh*t. :flirt: it.
  21. @salsaguy - speaking of doghouse, I jus PMed you with another tale from the Jus Crypt. Ouch for sure :spend:
  22. Mate, you'll be on A9 by the time that happens and it's a 100MPG car (which Consumer Report will finally get a 47MPG on their precious circuit in the snow...am I having a dig at them-you BETCHA) .... :lol2: & time to... :flyaway: Score! This is an important post as weebee can use this to go back to the dealer/Ford....
