  1. Thanks, keep an eye on the 800 thread as well. I am dropping hints and tips here and there...hope people are watching and learning...the more we crack this car, DA BETTER  I am going to revamp my CMax review later when this is all over to add in a section for City driving. I am seeing this is totally different mentality to freeway/highway driving especially in the treatment of the battery/SOC.
  2. This is my best morning work trip stat to date....not sure what I did to squeeze 4 more MPGs out of it but it worked... 82% of the trip is EV :yahoo:
  3. Congratulations to our 22nd 600+ Miles C-Max Club member
  4. Saw 2 today, one was following behind me for a lil while - bast*d better not be drafting me, lol :hysterical:
  5. Keep going C-Maxgo, you're tracking nicely to be the next hypermiler. To charge, take the car to say 5 mph above the limit and let it glide, repeat and repeat till you get a "useable" level. Feel free to throw in some nice EV in betwen cycles. I would also suggest you keep a good eye on the front red lights and see if you can time crossing them without stopping - without p*ss off the drivers behind you, be street smart. I think the timing helps a ton by saving you gas from the 0-35mph acceleration. Try that next time.
  6. Nope, not true. +/-3 mph around the posted speed limit, 35, 40 and 45. Also, you are forgetting the breakin my car and Matt's car has, its definitely added to the MPGs. Also, driving style, I don't subscribe to the "slow" is better either, that will p*ss off the drivers in the rear and I do drive the car at the peak hours in the morning and evening when I return home, just gotta be street & terrain smart. Also, my accel is shocking according to the coach...but FUNNY enough, I will EV from zero to 10MPH or 15MPH (if no one is behind me or if the car infront is slow) and then kick in the ICE. I don't subscribe to using ICE straight off and reserve the EV for the cruise....but hey, whadda-hell-do-i-know ;) This morning, I got my best ever work run...(same as posted in the 50+ MPG thread as well) This one was 5 MPGs more than what I normally get but I can't recall anything special this morning. I am telling all of you - this car is SPECIAL and I am no long term hypermiler either - this is my first hybrid and you guys know when I bought my car.
  7. It is always a risk when purchasing large ticket items whether u get a lemon or not, even high end Aston Martins/Jaguars have issues. So being level headed and working with your dealership is the best course of action but inevitably there are still lemons. At that point sell it or use the lemon laws. However using any article/blog to indite an entire model is ludicrous, especially when there remains a majority of very satisfied owners. I personally owned an 2004 Jaguar Xj lemon but you won't ever find me lambasting the Jaguar forums like a child ala kbf1 aka troll. And I paid a lot more money than this Cmax. Let's keep up this good discussion, thanks everyone :)
  8. Thanks CassidyB for the new thread, unfortunately that poster destroyed what legit discussion that could have been. That thread will be trashed when I get home, no one wants any dog t*rd sitting on their lawn. The only fit issue I had wad that lil panel near the gas pedal but Galpin fixed that. I have no other fit issues.
  9. Did I miss something today....Adair is her Royal Highness the Queen Grandmother now :headscratch: :runaway:
  10. You neighbor probably sleeps right next to the rear wheels of your car, hugging the wheels like pillow...cause thats the only noise mine makes when the car cools the Lith batteries when the car is off. To hear that, you literally have to have your ears next to the wheel as I found out while checking the tire pressure. No other noises reported.
  11. Continued from Post #1 06/25/2013 Hit the 700 mile mark today. 800 miles.... DONE.... I told you all this is slower than watching grass grow. LOL. The interesting thing is watching the Avg MPG fluctuate in the 1st quarter tank but about almost 1/2 tank, its very much stabilized and the 0.1 is now worth ALOT to keep or lose. last quarter tank it hardly fluctuates 0.1 or 0.2 at most. Where do I drive? How do I drive? I drive this car to work, to the golf course, to lunch and not necessarily in that order (I WISH) and I do around the speed limit, typically +/- 5mph around the speed limit to pulse/regen. To work, I get about 74 to 77 MPGs over 21.5 miles. Coming back from work, its a more earthly 54-57MPGs. Day trip averages 64MPG. Valley, surface streets with major arterials. Speed limits some 35, mostly 40 and 45 mph. We shall see....
  12. :happy feet: :happy feet: FINAL MILES :happy feet: :happy feet: 660.4 EV (79%) of the 833.8 miles was EV - Gotta :wub2: that. That's 0.06c per miles with this tank. This tank was topped off by about $1.25 since I missed the $55.00 mark. BIG SHOUT out to :worship: Matt aka Recumpence, the 1st dude to push the 700 Mile Limit and show whats possible and everyone whos cheered me on - this one is for :worship: YOU guys & Adair ! ============================================================================= INTRODUCTION "You are NUTZ" claimed by wife when I told her I was going to try to get 800 miles in a single tank in my Cmax. This was just after I got the 764.5 miles, in which I left gas in the tank. ...but that's what happens when you get the MPG bug in a car that was never released before with a hybrid drivesystem. We (the 600+ Miles CMax Club) just want to know how far this car can really go. Right? We use to think the 600 was King, and both ptjones and I broke that on the same day. Matt aka Recumpence was the first to break the 650 mark and the first to break the sky-high 700 mark. The 750 mark was mine and now the HOLY GRAIL of 800 seems achievable for a non-Energi C-Max. Funny enough our thoughts was that this mark was only possible with low 20s mph and no start-stop driving...lets see if this true? Does this even mean we dare DREAM that the CMax can go even further....to 850 or 900 miles a tank? Only time will tell to see what the upper limit is and who will drive it there. Does it matter? Not to me, as long as someone gets there in their CMax. Competition is healthy, the winner is YOU as more drivers break the marks, it becomes the new "NORM". Look what happened to the 600 mile mark. So I thought I would start a thread here just to document my own journey in my 16,500+ CMax that I have OWNED since December 6 2012. Its my own money that paid for the car, gas and the insurance. I get nothing from Ford or Galpin but I do enjoy dropping the screen shots of the ridiculous MPGs and miles per tank to my sales guy - Miguel Lopez and his boss Brandon Boeckman. Hey, its fun to do things people haven't done before ;) So lets begin....around the 100 mile mark for the tank.. Around the 200 mile mark... Around the 300 mile mark... Around the 400 mile mark... 06/21/2013 The 500 mark... 06/23/2013 Steady Eddy at the 600 mark
  13. Adair is now the MULTI-QUOTE queen.....wowzers!!!!! :)
  14. Verizon GSA4 running 4.2 Jelly Bean. No issues with the older 3.1.3 or newer 3.5.1 Past phone Verizon Motorola DroidX running 2.3 Android no issues with the 3.1.3.
  15. Lucky you. Try hauling the wifeys butt & kitchen sink to Mammoth in the below freezing temps - that did MAJOR damage to my fuelly. Right now I am 46.9 Lifetime. I guess these recent huge tanks are payback, finally. 33.4 there for a couple of trips over 285 miles each trip = major ugh.
  16. It can handle some upslope but not much - depends on how far the upslope goes and degree of inclination as if the CMax needs more power, it will suck from the battery first until the SOC drops below "optimum" at which point it then switches to full-on ICE power to climb. Rolling hills can be tricky but what I do is just "leave it" the eco-cruise on. It will always recharge when speeds > 65mph so you'll be back to the ICE High MPG ready state when the SOC is above 75% and double click - wallah.
  17. I take NO responsibility at how you look at yourself :hysterical: la...dee.da....la...dee..da..... :stirpot:
  18. Hee...hee..that would be an AWESOME start to a 700 mile tank. Wish I had the upslope and a CMax elevator on the way back, lol.
  19. You'll be fine :) One thing - the 3.5.1 update is no guarantee the GPS will be fixed (if you even had this issue) but if you still do have GPS issue, Ford needs to replace the GPS module, its the ONLY cure. Hope this helps.
  20. That is FREAKING awesome snitGTS...so young on the odo as well :) Crap, I forgot about the 1000 mile challenge by DaveofDurham...but I may once my MPG madness is over ;)
  21. If you keep this up, we'll have to add you to the 600 Mile Club ;) Go! Go! Go! I am still rolling along....post 200+ miles at the moment, its going to be a s....l....o......wwwww slog :shift:
  22. Matt, Matt, Matt.....lol, I told you that you would pip me...and I know you squeezed every ounce of blood out of the stone...if not ran out of gas, as I never seen you hit past 13.0 gallons. Till now.. ;) Well done mate  w000t ....keeping going stobro2, it only gets better and better and BETTER  Post up the pic if you beat your record in Post #1 and will update the post. Pity is not as fast, even grass grows faster than me and Matt beat each other up with the MPG gloves. Never thought I would ever say that about ANY game... :hysterical:
  23. See the link in my signature..P&G to improve FE....etc etc... ;) And welcome to the forum, enjoy the posts and feel free to contribute
  24. mtb - should have showed us your Trip Summary / Trip 1 display, that would be more meaningful to help us diagnose - as we don't know what you did with the Avg MPG that you are showing. You could have reset it before the trip etc etc? I got this from coming back from the golf course.... At least with the numbers I shown, we can probably conclude batts were used extensively, may be a squirt or 2 (which is close as I only had a little over 1/2 batts). Next time... PS Before someone rides my a$$ about these numbers, I was on the way back from the gym and stopped at a course to do some practice - and this was on my last leg home, okay...and yeah, it was above 60+MPG for the trip :hi5:
