yeah but that would look even worse. commuter car... here 15-18 miles each way. I'd love to make for each slat a "one peice" so I end up with 3-4 slats for the upper and a couple for the lower , rather than 15 foam peices.
-
no not worried about overheat. all about aesthetics and ease of use while I know the lexan is clear it would not be long until it started getting nicked up from road debris, and the foam while simplistically ellegant in nature. not sure i want to deal with all the peices... Just me being me... thats all..
-
no, have not made any yet... hasn't been real high on the "to do list" not quite sure i want the lexan over the whole grille, and not real keen on the foam... so not sure what if anything I'm going to do.. on the prius I only did the lower as it was more inconspicuous...

Smiling Jack...too funny... WB if a thief has a choice between a ford cmax and a range rover... I'm pretty sure your cmax is safe.. typical "the sky is falling" type of reporting... "According to the UK Office for National Statistics, car theft has fallen from 318,000 in 2002 to 77,500 last year." So over the last 12 years car theft has dropped 75% If someone wants something they will get it. Locks/chains/security systems keep honest people honest and help eliminate the easy snatch/grab

winter fuel, cooler temps, and some highway time(most of the tank) still could have made 600, but I had 2 empty fuel cans for the mower that needed to be filled... 570 miles 266 EV 12.2 indicated 46.6 indicated 12.8 pumped 44.5 calc average speed 32

theother concern, at least IMHO other than power consumption is weight... I'm running a 55" LED on the same mount i was running for my 42" LCD that gave up the ghost (under warranty) It mounted above a fireplace on a rock fascia fireplace so even though I used nice anchors to mount it I did not have to upgrade the mount or buy another mounts.

Well I borrowed a couple empty pony kegs. no major problems with fitment. only lose one door shelf. I will have to build a minor "L" shape shelf the keg that sits in the back rests partially on the compressor hump. When full I think the keg might have a tendency to rock forward as it would be more top heavy. and I'd rather err on the side on of caution. No point in having spilt beer :) So I ordered up the conversion parts

Kotsby... you are screwed.... as all of the will do nothing to help in event of a zombie apocalypse... Sicne you are in the center of the country you should be safe from ebola for a while...

on my last 600+ tank I still had 1 gallon in the tank.. good for 50 miles.... Boomer, do you fish much? Trolling in So CA is supposed to be pretty good...

for any who cares... I just did a trip down to richmond VA and back today. 99% highway (I 95) 4 hours 6 mins driving 222.6 miles 60 EV 43.4 MPG 5.12 gallons average speed of 54.8 held high 60's as much as possible with some stints near 80. had a few 10mph slow rolls which brought the MPH down and helped the EV. Going down was a 1:45 trip for 111 miles with 22 EV so my average going down was 63 and coming back was only 48.... if I could have maintained 48 from start to finish mileage would have been excellent. Somehting tells me though on i95 going 48 mph would have gotten me shot...:) I did notice that going down when I stuck the cruise around between 65-70 I noticed the "sweet spot" with the ICE quite a few times

I wish I still had my 66... I was never a fan of the mach 1's I respect the car, but the looks never did for it... I was a 64, 65, 66 mustang person...

Ger... I have outgrown the stab the gas and smoke the tires cars are "appliances" at this point in time in my life... I had a 66 mustang, Fiero GT (don't laugh it was a fun car) several two wheel terrors and a 94 impala SS that was set up for road course racing and autocrossing.... a couple years ago I got a free promotional loaner from GM for a 6cylinder camaro RS in exchange for videotaped post drive interview. What a car. ...I could only imagine what the V8 could do... The C-max is a nice little car and very capable...

I've seen the ICE engine MPG like you saw in the 20's but I have also seen it register in the 30's and 40's from time to time... and some say ther eis a sweet spot around 67mph http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/4272-best-highway-cruising-speed-for-mpgs/?hl=%2Bsweet+%2Bspot chekc post number 13 for a pic I think the downfall of the ICE engine and the low MPG numbers is the CVT. on the highway in my wife vue and my HHR (2.4L) with a heavier car. I'm able to get low 30's mpg. but thats with the engine running low RPM's in overdrive. I don't think the CVT is that fuel efficient... when compared with a 5 speed with a tall OD gear so the engine can cruise in a nice sweet spot..

They told me to waituntil after the 30th.... so I called last week... now no more operator only a message so left a message then and again today... so far no call backs..

So...whats your point? the purpose of a hybrid drive train is to mix two technologies, in this case gas and electric to create a synergy and make for much better mileage and range than either by themselves could do. So I don't really see any "useless" numbers... some folks get more EV miles based on terrain, weather, and driving style... Since CR has the Cmax at mid to upper 30's MPG and ford has the cmax barely cracking 40... getting 49 in real word driving. Pretty f#$*ing good... While not as good as my prius I had, its much better than my wifes Saturn Vue green line and much better than my HHR I had...

I had a 94 impala SS that I autocrossed in florida upgraded sway bars, springs, cams, 5pt harness, gumball tires, a well built trans... Also did some track days at Sebring, and when I moved up to DC I had it for a while and took it Summitt point and also Autocrossed. Also drove a beater CRX for autcrossing. not nearly as fun to slog around the course as a 2 ton boat. I ended up with a spare transmission and would do transmission rebuilds on my work bench and do 2-4 swaps a year in my garage... Got to be a bit expensive, tires, and such...Wife loved the car, but it wasn't a good city driver...

did another 600+ mile tank... had a bunch of rain this week I was really hoping for a 700 miler... had nearly a gallon left could have gotten close to 700. but have a trip to richmond planned and it made sense to fill up on the way home from work and not have to worry about it later.. 640.8 miles 411 ev 51.2 indicated mpg 12.49 indicated gallons 23 mph average 13.07 pumped 49.02 mpg calc

back to back tanks 640.8 miles 411 ev 51.2 indicated mpg 12.49 indicated gallons 23 mph average 13.07 pumped 49.02 mpg calc

Do you autocross??? about the most fun you can have with your clothes still on...:)

tires are like shoes/clothing when it comes to sizes... Tire rack doesn't exactly say how they compute the "revs per mile"? I got my mph data from http://tire-size-conversion.com/speedometer-calibration/ and I made a mistake (brain fart, end of the day) at 65 mph indicated the 215 65 16 is showing an actual speed of 67.8 and the 215 60 16 is an actual speed of 65.7 which correlates to your 2.8 mph...

the cmax is 225 /50 17 which means the contact patch is 225mm wide and the sidewall is 50% of that or 112mm so your overall hieght 112 + 112 + 432 656 mm your snow tires are 215 mm wide with a 129mm sidewall so 129 + 129 + 406 = 664 which means you snow tire hieght is 8mm taller.. show that your speed will be 3.8 mph faster @ 65pmh

Chuck, while the MPGs are overeported, the range, I have found is always cautious. my range has always gone to zero while there is more than a gallon or so left in the tank.

C-max MPG not calculated correctly

we are not alone, the prius overreports its mpgs as well...and I'm sure my wifes saturn Vue gren line does as well. The vehicle knows how far its going and how fast. and it has an idea of how much fuel its pumping. it know the the injectors pump X amount of fuel each time they squirt. It all about accuracy of the measuring equipment. and accureacy of the dispensing equipment. I cna buy a digital scale on ebay for 25 bucks that will get me within a gram. or I can spend 2500 bucks for a scale that will get me accurate to .0001. How accurate do you want to be, and at what cost.... Right now I'm seeing about 5-10% difference between pumped and displayed numbers. One woudl think that ford could easily write a mild software update to compensate, the problem. not everyone is seeing the same delta. so an update for me, won't work for someone else...
