I think Don in Alaska has Ice Storm with black leather, but he hasn't been around since he got his car delivered. I hope he is okay.

I read that a big tropical storm passed through your area. Glad that Max got squeaky clean and didn't blow away. I run hot and cold with our Ice Storm--looks lovely on sunny days and a little drab on cloudy ones (which we have lots of). However, I think I still would opt for Ice Storm. We have the light coloured leather which I really like versus the black.

Are you implying that Jelly Bean is an android? Well if so, that might be pretty neat for Adair.

Wow those are cool pictures. Are they wild turkeys? Or escaped domestic turkeys?

Sorry to hear this gatormax, but thanks for letting us know. Something else to worry about. We seem to be in a phase of woes on the forum.

I just ordered the Introtech roll up one for the C-Max on ebay --cost $44 including postage. Thanks to all for your comments and pictures.

Mi-C it does seem that you've had an extraordinary amount of trouble. It might be time to consider going the buy back route. A couple of members here have had buy backs I don't know much about the mechanics of the C-Max but it sure sounds like transmission trouble that affects your safety. I gather an owner can ask for a buy back if they can't fix the problems after 4 or 5 attempts. Your issues are very different from the MFT issues so if I were in your shoes I would look into that option by contacting Ford service reps. Others here may jump in and give their two cents and advice about the buy back conditions.

We haven't heard anything from Valkraider in Oregon since his nightmare situation unfolded. Anyone in touch with him to know the outcome? -
Tips for Renewing Sirius Radio Subcription
Laurel replied to Laurel's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
My husband was not too keen on signing up, but we have many areas in British Columbia where regular radio reception is very poor when you leave the major cities. This summer we will head up to the Cariboo to visit our two horses Molly and Kit (and human friends too) and people up there are quite reliant on Sirius if they want radio reception. Plus I am hooked on all the croaky voiced country singers on Willie's Roadhouse and I love the 50's Oldies channel. We have our Ipods loaded with music, but I like hearing some chit chat too on road trips. I guess it is a novelty for me and I wanted to keep it. I can't see paying full price, but we got it at a reasonable price. I was actually doing a little jig of joy when I hung up the phone after wheeling and dealing with Sirius. -
Fraternal twins in Durham NC

Well keep us in mind if you get back as we have space for you. We can even scrunch over in the garage and make room for your C-Max. -
Any chance of hubby accidently hitting the start/stop button while driving? I know that isn't very likely, but I remember in our SUV my husband kept hitting the push button radio know with his knee when he moved around to get comfortable. I think that isn't too likely with the position of the start/stop button but if he was fiddling with something it could happen. You must have been really freaked and as you say on a freeway that could be so dangerous. I would be heading into the dealership asap. Months ago someone described a similar event happening to them, but I can't remember where it is posted or the outcome. They got some sort of message that said stop car immediately and pull over.

BillN in another thread said, Others have reported MFT problems caused by odd characters (whatever that means and no pun intended) in song titles, album names, etc. I also recall reading that the same problem can occur due to contact names. So you may want to scrub your contact list as it may help. YMMV. I wonder if that would help you GreenChicago?

Pretty neat to see that Dave. We still have never seen one here in Vancouver, B.C. I'll probably flag them down and invite them to stay the weekend if I ever see one LOL. -
Tips for Renewing Sirius Radio Subcription
Laurel replied to Laurel's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
We don't have those in our part of Canada, but I suspect it does as I can pick up Bellingham, Washington weather and traffic--so I assume when we travel into the States it is there for us.. And I did read on the internet that lots of folks renewed in the States at $79 for a year including Traffic and Travel Link. -
Tips for Renewing Sirius Radio Subcription
Laurel posted a topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Today while driving my Sirius radio subscription ended. We figured our six month trial was ending shortly, but expected to get some notification in the mail which did not happen. Just all of sudden Sirius was gone. I have done a lot of reading on the internet re:tips on renewing so that a person doesn't have to pay full price. Those tips were great. I copied down my ESN number that was displayed and then phoned Sirius Canada (all of the tips I read were actually for Sirius in the States). I told the young man at Sirius, who from his French Quebecois accent was obviously in Quebec, that my Sirius had been cut off. I asked for the rate for one year to re-new. He quoted me $188 plus tax which took it to over $200 for the year. As advised by the internet, I responded with "that is way too expensive for us as we only listen to two channels. I guess we will have to do without". He immediately said, "Let me check for any discounts or specials for you". He came back with $75 plus tax for one year! I said "great, we'll take it!" He then directed me to go to the car while he was on the phone to ensure that he had it had turned back successfully. Then before he hung up he told me to "carefully" write down that the subscription expires on June 6th next year. He said you must know this as Sirius will automatically bill you full price next year. So please phone on June 5th and say you will need to cancel unless you get a special deal again. He was an absolutely honest and charming young fellow, and I told him this. So yeehaw we have Sirius for a year for $75 plus tax. PS The internet also said if you happen to get a service rep. that says there are no discounts or specials, just say thanks and hang up and try for a different rep. later as some are very helpful and some are very hard nosed. -
The voice commands are by far the easiest way of using the system. That is all we use now. Granted you have to use the right phrasing, but we made a cheat sheet for the commands and now pretty well have the right lingo down. Very interesting features of using it at times ie. when giving an address verbally, you can't speak too slowly or it doesn't recognize it ie. no pausing when saying 4565 Main Street--you sort of rattle it off quickly . In the beginning I would try 4( little pause)5 (little pause) etc. and the system wouldn't recognize it. Now I speak fairly quickly and all goes well.

Good luck tomorrow! We have a November 2012 build date too--I checked the VIN and it seems to be the real build date. I hope the process goes smoothly for you. I am holding off for a month or so before I take Tip in for any upgrades.
-
I don't think it will be a regular occurence. We have had a few odd things happen with MFT, The system seems to get overloaded at times and then rights itself if left overnight. No master sets required if we leave things be for a few hours.
-
Well this is a fine kettle of fish! I definitely will not be taking Tip in for the upgrade until I hear that the kinks are worked out. This is very discouraging news. I am glad our system is working well without having to go for the upgrade. Sorry for your troubles mtb9153.
-
We haven't had that happen, but my advice is just to ignore it today and stop fiddling with the paddle for voice. In all likelihood, all will be well tomorrow morning. That is just some MFT silliness happening. I have had other little glitches sort themself overnight.

3.5.1 seems to have fixed some buggy behavior
Laurel replied to GreenChicago's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
We don't have the nav upgrade, and hubby was able to set up the garage door opener and the gate to our complex with no problems by following instructions in the owner's manual. He said it was straight forward compared to his old car. I asked him if he had any special tips and he couldn't think of any glitches or tricks to setting it up. -
My Ford Touch update for C-Max finally available!

My rational self agrees with you about context Jus, but my "in a funk" self makes me want to wait a couple of weeks or so. We are expecting glorious sunshine for the next week beginning tomorrow so the funk will soon disappear. -
My Ford Touch update for C-Max finally available!
Laurel replied to csavage7's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
I emailed Ford Canada customer service yet again and he ran my VIN and said he found that there is a FSA for US cars for the 3.5.1 which applies to mine. He suggested I try again with my dealership asking them to look for it. He said if I have no luck with them to email him and he will help me. However, now I am gun shy with all the update glitches happening. So I may just sit on things for a month and then go in. Our MFT works just fine and I don't relish the thought of them screwing things up. Maybe they can practice on someone else first as I don't want to be the sacrificial goat.LOL I have printed his email to wave under their noses if need be. -
Okay I see what C-Maxgo means. The black backdrop looks good.

"Black wallpaper"--is that the black screen of death? Not sure if you are being sarcastic or not? Wonder why they put 9 gas guzzling miles on your car? I'm full of questions LOL. If we ever get notification of the upgrade in Canada, I will check my mileage before and after I take it in.
