Does that mean that you think that is cold? Hey we are drinking beer and barbequing in celebration and we didn't hit 65 today. You are spoiled. Oops I just googled the conversion of 14C, and I guess I am hardier than I thought as it was only 57 F and I was out in shorts and tee shirt and was giddy with the warm temps and thrilled that my mileage got down to 4.0L. You really are spoiled LOL.

Jus how is the real estate market in your neck of the woods? In Vancouver, we have some of the highest house prices in the world, but there is a huge correction happening here. The Canadian government fears a big crash like in the States so they have tightened up mortgage qualifications i.e. increasing down payments, shortened the number of years that it can be amortized over. This makes it harder for first time buyers. The average house price here is about $550,000 according to stats. But that sort of low price only happens way out in suburbia. In my neighbourhood, the average family home is about $850,000 for approx. 3,000 sq. ft. The housing market is flat. In the past, people would estimate the selling price on BC Tax Assessments and add about 10% to get a listing price ie. tax assessment would be $775,000--so the owner would list for $850,000. Now very little sells unless it is listed at the Tax Assessment price. So in effect in the past year there has been at least a 10% drop in house prices. Very few sellers out there right now, and even fewer buyers. We sold our farm in 2011 and actually got lucky and got it sold before this correction occurred. None of our neighbours can sell their farms now. I am just curious how real estate in your area as I watch a lot of HGTV and in certain places in the States so many of the houses are short sales (we don't have that concept here. We do have some foreclosures, but it is very rare.)

Well when set on 1, they are not too hot for me or any of my passengers. So I will say that you do likely have a very sensitive butt LOL

Armoredsaint may lift his eyebrows over the year round shorts as he doesn't like withe socks and Jesus sandals, Jus I have an image of you running around appraising houses wearing bermuda khaki shorts with Jesus sandals (no white socks though) LOL.

Ditto Adair! We aren't as warm as Michigan, but we were 14C today with beautiful sunshine. I had Tip out at the garden shops looking for more plants. Unfortunately I will have to cover my plants tonight as we expect ground frost but Spring is here. Tip got 4.0 L per 100 kilometers today (58 mpg) on some 40 kilometer trips. That is the Canadian EPA prediction on my window sticker.

First Screen Freeze! Woohoo!!!!!
Laurel replied to fishead924's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Fishead294 do you know the build date of your car? Just wondering if it has the new navigation card, or perchance was your car built in the Fall and has the old SD card? Discouraging to think it has the new updates and is acting like that. -
We have the gray digital Weather Techs in the front. My car is Ice Storm with the stone beige interior. The gray shows dirt like crazy! My passenger digital mat slides forward and is not a tight steady fit like the driver's side with the snaps. That part is disappointing. Muddy foot prints stand out on the gray. Not sure what colour would be best for not showing dirt and mud.

Yes, the C-Max takes a lot of maneuvering in tight spots. A wee bit of an ordeal at times. This comes from a former Smart Car owner --me and Pickle could go down bike paths LOL. Tip and I have to have a good look and a plan in tight spots.

Thanks Hollywood--great inexpensive idea. Me and Tip will head out to the dollar store shortly. -
How well does your car handle the winter/rain driving season?
Laurel replied to armoredsaint's topic in General Discussion
We live in a rain forest climate with lots of rain. No complaints with traction--all seems good but I drive the speed limit usually. -
We love our SEL, but after 5 months of owning it we certainly have learned it is totally weather dependent in the area of mileage. We can get great mileage on warm days, but we are just starting to see good weather now. Our life time average is 6.6 L which is about 35 mpg US. We do get great trips of 4.0 L and even as low as 3.6 L. and with current temperatures in the 12 C range, we average about 5.6 L. I think when summer comes we will be in the 4.0 L range for sure. And we do drive very conservatively--no rabbit starts and we watch the empower religiously for braking and getting it into EV. We are happy as clamswith the car. However, I think Ford needs to explain the impact of weather and driving style on customers before they buy--then they are informed and can't say they were lied to.

Laurel replied to Seth7721's topic in Sightings - C-MAX Hybrid's Spotted!
Lucky you! I have yet to see one in the five months we have had ours. We're in Vancouver, B.C. -
How do I turn off my DRL's?
Laurel replied to armoredsaint's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors & Wipers
Are you sure you have daytime running lights? We have them in Canada, but it isn't standard for C-Max for USA customers. -
Okay Bill you have lost me with your first point. Why do you shift from drive to neutral when stopping? And I have never had any lurching with changing gears.

Who has 3.1.3 Nav and IT WORKS PROPERLY?
Laurel replied to Jus-A-CMax's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
What is the difference between navigation and GPS? I use the words interchangeably. -

Screen protector for MyFord Touch screen?
Laurel replied to BigRed's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
I think they want it to prevent finger prints on the screen. -
What cool hidden feature have you discovered about your C-Max?
Laurel replied to armoredsaint's topic in General Discussion
Fotomoto I'm not clear about your info. Does this work for us with the old MFT navigation or just the new 3.5.1 owners? -
Sync sometimes unable to find Mobile Apps
Laurel replied to oxnard's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
I read your question, but I don't know the answer. We don't have the Sync lady to argue with in our C-Max. -
I have those sour powder straws in the glove box and suck them back. You are probably too young to remember those straws with the kool aid powder in them. Most delicious. Maybe Ford can get a side line going with Energi drinks LOL.

I had the lime Ron--very tasty LOL.

Laurel replied to Hippie'sMom's topic in General Discussion
I am really sorry about Hippie. What a darned shame. I guess Jus is right it will be best if it is a write off. Keep us posted. I'm glad Petey is driveable. Cute names for both of them. -
We have the Dogger stroller for Tinker our wee older dog, and it fits fine. LOL http://www.dogquality.com/dog-strollers/dogger.html The folded dimensions of the Dogger are 381/2 x 24 x 181/2 inches. Maybe you can compare. We have lots of room to spare with the Dogger in the back--large seat folded down.
