I like the angled one better. Can you angle it on the driver's side without it interfering with anything?

Rachel where is the set button?

What's your favorite My View and why?

Empower all the time for me too. -
I've had my SEL since the end of November and find that when the car is unlocked, one kick opens it and two kicks when it is locked. But I am going to try a slow kick when locked to experiment as commented on in another thread. My hands free hatch has always worked like a charm. No nav problems either and I obviously have the old SD card--but we haven't taken long road trips yet. Our touch screen always comes on before we move the car having pushed the start button.

I'm trying to simplify my life so being a campaign manager works for me <g>. We actually have such a good group that it is limitless who could step up to bat. Very rare to have a forum with such nice respectful members.

Rachel one of the pluses of the C-Max is the extra head room--so he should still fit LOL. What about you and Adair volunteering too? You three would make a great team.

We couldn't find a nicer, more enthusiastic, encouraging, engaging, charming, fair minded moderator than Jus-A-CMax. Robert you are the luckiest guy to have him offer his services as a moderator. I volunteer to be Jus-A-CMax's campaign manager LOL.

Stupid Question -- How do you turn it off?
Laurel replied to VirginiaRick's topic in General Discussion
There are some who feel that to avoid a problem with a dead battery it is important not to put your foot on the brake when turning the C-Max off. I read the instructions when I bought the car and saw they didn't say to put your foot on the brake for turning off--so I never put my foot on the brake when turning off the car. No dead battery so far. -
That is a nice combo of good natured and smart breeds. I have often thought of getting a DNA test for our Tinker. She is an unknown and people guess pom with corgi, pom with cocker, pom with chihuahua etc. We have friends who train horses in the Cariboo with working Border Collies and they cannot do their ranching without those two dogs--they are brilliant. We are in yuppie suburbia here and the labradoodle has taken over the world here. Nice dogs but they are the designer dog of the day around here--along with West Highland Terriers. We always go for the rescue dogs.

Springer Spaniel? Very handsome. Car looks good too LOL.

Thanks Ryan! You are easing my paranoia about the situation. Maybe Spring will change things. Glad to hear the DJ's will be out in them as this should improve the visibility. Hubby and I have had the flu so maybe I am in funk. Sure would be nice to bump (not literally) into another C-Max. Temperature is supposed to be 20C on the weekend! And C-Max Seattle is going to be visiting BC in a couple of weeks so I hope to catch a glimpse as they pass by on Hwy.99 LOL. I could hang a banner on the over pass if I knew when they were passing through White Rock.

I scan the major Canadian newspaper Ford ads daily, and have yet to see one ad for the C-Max. We ordered from a large dealership in October and we are the first and only sold C-Max from that dealership. So we are nearly 5 months into having the C-Max and have yet to spot another one on the road. I think that Ford is examining the C-Max problems and hasn't found solutions yet--thus no advertising. I guess that Ford isn't commenting due to lack of solutions?
-
Oh boy these dead battery issues are sure discouraging to read about. I am wondering if the Canadian dealers are keeping a hands off approach until the problems are resolved i.e. not ordering any stock? There are so few around and no newspaper ads for them at all. I have tried googling to see if Ford Canada is taking note in any blogs, but so far haven't turned anything up. My fingers are crossed for all of you having the problems!

With what you know, would you buy your C Max today (again)
Laurel replied to catsailor's topic in General Discussion
I love my SEL, but would I buy it again? My answer is going to be no. I base this on a great unease about why they are not selling many or promoting them in Canada. It makes me feel very edgy knowing that my C-Max is the only one ever sold by my dealership. I am due for Tip's first servicing in May and I feel nervous about that thinking if my C-Max is the only one sold "what the heck will they have in the way of experience in dealing with any issues that come up?". Something seems amiss to me over this lack of promoting them. I fully expected to see some C-Max's on the road--have yet to see one. It is the best car I've ever had, but if I had it to do over I would wait and see what the heck is going on with this issue of them not being sold or promoted here. Did I buy an Edsel? Makes me wonder. There is a big International Auto Show coming up next week and other companies are promoting and advertising, but nothing on the C-Max. At first I thought maybe Canada isn't going to be a big market due to much of the country having low winter temperatures, but I live on the West Coast with moderate climate and the Prius is a big seller. I hope someone from Ford Canada reads this and has some answers. -
Perfect music for the CMax and where you driving....
Laurel replied to Jus-A-CMax's topic in Lounge: Off-Topic
Adair we will probably see Herons, Bald Eagles, Trumpeter Swans, all sorts of wood ducks and the usual chickadees, robins, and maybe a few Flickers too. We live in a great area for bird watching as it is a migratory path for the birds. -

I like driving down quiet lanes by the beach in stealth mode with no equipment turned on, windows down, and listening to the birds. We are just getting ready to pack a lunch with a thermos of hot chocolate and go down to the beach with our dog and our binoculars and bird watch. -
Shaners sorry for all your problems.
-
These Canadian C-Max's are so well behaved eh Ryan? LOL I do use my cheat sheet to check out my voice commands as the "navigation lady" wants it her way.
-
We are marching to a different drummer. Our navigation works great. I use voice commands only.

From March 11, 2013 from a fellow test driving the C-Max in Halifax. His experience is very similar to ours. http://www.goodcarbadcar.net/2013/03/2013-ford-cmax-hybrid-real-world-fuel-economy-figures.html

Jkngale, Welcome! We are on the opposite coast to you i.e. Vancouver. I see that you are now getting hammered with big snow storms and very cold temperatures. I hope it improves soon. We've had our C-Max for nearly 4 months. Mileage really varies for us depending on the weather and the length of trips. Surprisingly the really short trips can yield very poor mileage, but when the car warms up and we go greater distances the mileage can get average 5.2 or better. Those short hops yield about 6.4--unless it is downhill and we get 4.0. We love the car. No problems thus far (knocking on wood). The MFT and navigation has worked tickety boo for us thus far. We have yet to see another C-Max on the road here, and when the dealers advertise in the paper they do not advertise the C-Max which seems very strange. Yet we do see C-Max ads on the 6 o'clock news slot. I know when we have popped into the dealership for the odd little thing (like our keys were missing from our FOB's) they seem very disinterested in the C-Max and selling them. At our dealership we ordered in October 2012 and we were the first and last C-Max sold. Seems very odd to me since they are so popular in the States.

Nice photos Rachel! Rainette looks lovely. Tip has some bird poop on her right now so she is due for a bath too, but the weather today is crummy--coolish about 9C and damp. I didn't really notice anything off with your hybrid emblem but I have no OCD traits.

We have had our C-Max since the end of November and we have yet to see another one on the road. BUT I had the first person ask me about the C-Max when I was at the grocery store the other day. He stood watching me park and said he was very interested in the C-Max. First thing out of his mouth was "how is the mileage". I said that the Canadian 4.0 and 4.1 was only happening downhill LOL. But I said the mileage improves as the climate warms up here and after the car is warmed up. I was very honest with him about everything. i.e. the battery issues and the MFT glitches that others experience. He drives an older PT Land Cruiser and he wanted to see the space with the seats down. He seems sold--has a friend with a Ford dealership and is hoping to get a deal. I talked his head off. I see the dealers here really aren't bringing in more C-Max Hybrids, but a few now have the Energi's.

No battery problems thus far--got our SEL at the end of November. I always drive with the regular head lights on as we live in a very rainy grey area and with the running lights you don't have tail lights on. I never drive without head lights on--not even on bright summer days--just a habit to turn them on as I feel much safer.
