  1. Kudos Tishpit ! Hope the garage opens up soon. Nick
  2. Congratz Notquitesane! Great username (I can relate), oh & an even greater car - Love our C-Max !!! It's the perfect time of the year for your launch, enjoy the new ride, Nick
  3. Our pano roof was listed at $1195 on our 2013 - of which we paid about $1110 $1010+- for. We love it and are very glad we sprang for it. (keep in mind this is Seattle where it rains 340 days of the year and we need all the light we can find) Nick (yes it was essentially free we got such a sweet deal)
  4. Way to go Keith (& your wiser half), congratz & good luck with the C-Max ! As you know, the C-Max is a significantly different animal than standard ICE (internal combustion engine) vehicles. We love ours, but recognize that not everyone embraces the paradigm shift to more energy efficient vehicles, and how they react to our driving habits. We have modified our driving habits a scosh, knowing that if we drive more safely we will get the most out of our brilliant C-Max technology. Our C-Max replaces a 1993 BMW 525 (or will over time), and our MPGs have doubled. Our fuel cost of course is less than half counting the switch from premium gas to regular gas - :yahoo:. Get to know the best service department (& manager) in you neighborhood. The more interest you have in your C-Max, the better they will take care of it for you. Best wishes & enjoy !!! Nick
  5. We consistently get better than 45 mpg Spring, Summer & Fall (40-80 temps generaly). 70% freeway, 58-60mph in 60 mph zones and 65-68mph in 70 mph zones. It's a great freeway car for us in Seattle. Gladly take the cross sectional hit, for the great cabin space - pass the poupon. Nick
  6. Thanks Jdbob, Quote: "I've got some custom PID information for TPMS readings and Oil Life remaining percentage. Tested using OBD Fusion (OF) on an iPad, I've included what I think the values for Torque Pro (TP) should be." OF Mod. TP Hdr. (I'll try to set it up here) Starting with Oil Life, here are the Torque Pro fill-in-the-blanks, line by line. I will fill in the blanks I think I know, and hope the A-Team helps us with the rest. 1. "OBD2 Mode and PID (in Hex.... ________ 2. "Long Name" Oil Life Remaining by % 3. "Short Name" Oil Life 4. "Min Value" 0 5. "Max Value" 100 6. "Scale Factor" ________ 7. "Unit Type" % 8. 7. Scottwood2. I have not spent much time with our ELM327/Torque Pro /Samsung G-Note combo yet, just set up a few built-in gauges a while back, and very preliminary runtime. I did a brief check today and noted that custom PID's are entered in from the opening window, settings, manage custom PIDs, add a custom PID, menu 'click' regime. At this point it looks like a straight forward fill-in-the blank routine for all the lines of 'code' for each new PID you create. Note also that they have a very serious warning about creating custom PIDs / and messing up your car electronics, so not for the faint of heart. I welcome any corrections and or additions to this from the experts. Nick
  8. Congratz Nwswdn - great deal on a brilliant car !!! We do love the goodies on our SEL, but the SE is great as well. Low miles here, 100% reliable; overall best & most fun car we have ever owned. Enjoy, Nick
  9. Wishing you the best Salsa, however the car buying turns out. Yes our C-Max hybrid is great for traffic - EVing half the time for great MPGs and tunes. Be sure to check the back boot of the Toureg if you are seriously considering it, I think it is a fair bit smaller than the C-Max. Take your wife's favorite CD with when you test drive a C-Max in the future so she can appreciate the NO ICE sound in a C-Max, maybe that will pull her on-board. Just think how jealous we will all be when you get your 2016 or 2017 !!! Patience is a virtue, so they say :) Nick (Edit: OOPS, got my T's crossed; was thinking of the Tiguan, not the Toureg - if it matters)

    Hi!

Congrats and Welcome Saul ! Yes indeed, the sum of the details about a car really do matter, not just the MPG. Hope all goes well with the purchase process, that you have a good dealer, and most importantly enjoy the new (used) C-Max ! After two years, we continue to be pleased with and :wub2: our C-Max. Nick

    A handsome Grouper.
  12. .....& the Priiiiii velourette ...............oh, the monotone-otonous of it all ......................... creepy shiver, creepy shiver ... Just think Jus, you could call your new Pruis Monotonette, or better yet, call her Marianette - and you could add some cabling to the velour ceiling, put a 'dummie' in the driver seat, and drive the car from the back seat - the first PZEV PDLV (Partial Driver Less Vehicle). nick :headspin: :headspin: :headspin:
  13. :congrats: DP ! WOW, great price, welcome, Enjoy!
  14. :congrats: jestevens, great deal :hat_tip:! Couldn't agree more on all of the great features available for the C-Max, even as far back in ancient times as 2012. Our friends 2015 MB is missing many of them and cost a good 15-20k more :spend:. (they were drooling over our pano roof last weekend  They're not thrilled about their expensive oil changes either) Not to mention the :superhero: :superhero: :superhero: power ! Maxed on C-Maxes Nick :skateboard:
  15. Agree Fusion is very handsome, but............. for me beauty and function are inextricable and our C-Max has gotten more beautiful/handsome by the day, and my view of the Fusion slightly less favorable over time. Just MHO, and/or time heals or fogs, not sure which. ;) Nick Just Say No - to sedans that is !!!
  16. It still smacks of a Max to me - A, B, C, D, E-Max, yes that's it - at least from the side a bit (not from the front). ;) Great profile. I don't see many buttons & knobs on that dash - wasn't the car industry getting raked for that a year ago? (Glad we have it all, from buttons to voice; & the winning profile)
  17. 38 psi too low for most load conditions (and it only drifts lower (& more underinflated) over time), 60 psi too high, 43, 44, 45, 46, 47 +- cold (and drifting lower over time) just right. :) :) :) Just my two cents worth, nothing more. Driving in the slow lane under 70 mph, mild temps.............. Nick (93Vs - 51psi max load OEM tires)
  18. I will second Shinytop in saying that the Sterling Grey is quite good at hiding dirt. Would not trade it, even though I like the other colors too. (A quick clean of the rear window & windshield and it all looks clean again.) Do your homework on buying, bargain hard, checkout the vehicle thoroughly, find a good dealer with a well trained service department, yadda, yadda, yadda. Good luck. Nick
  19. :congrats: and welcome Mitchvino. At 65 MPH I would suggest using ECO Cruise and letting the car dictate modes. It is very tough to out-smart the car (engineers at Ford) at highway/freeway speeds. (There are some down-and-dirty mods to the grill area (plumbing pipe foam raps etc....) you could try since it is winter to keep the ICE warmer. Look up grill covers & or winter driving tips) Enjoy, Nick ICE - Internal Combustion Engine
  20. Double Yup on that - not from experience, but from knowing the stars on this forum do exactly that - P & G city, aero mod for highway speeds. :hat_tip: For us it is ECO Cruise for both; otherwise it is maximizing the PE/KE opportunities on all of our hills. Too lazy for P & G in city on 'flat' arterials (very few), just ECO at or above the speed limit. :skateboard: (47+ MPG all around) BTW, today is our 2 year mark with our C-Max, which means we can now start 'buying in' to the aero mod game for highway speeds. Hello Paul ! :flyaway: (Time to learn better throttle control (Glide) as well - an exciting new year) Nick (2 years, $0 maint. cost other than gas, 3 oil changes (300, 5,000, 10,000), low miles, 47+ mpg wherever we go, brilliant car)
  21. Exactly, you have to 'do the math' when comparing to diesels - and here, 45 mpg diesel becomes 35-38+- when comparing to our C-Max. We are easily cruising at 60 in 60 zones, 65-68 in 70 zones and getting 45+ mpg on regular gas (weather permitting). Eco-Cruising & optimizing PE/KE opportunities, (never hypermiling) Nick (Just Say No to ICE idling)
  22. I'm guessing that it will be a very big hit. I like the styling except for the nose (can't stand the pinch, & other GM cues). Not far off being a C-Max II in styling perhaps. (which will make it to market first ???) Sooooo glad we have the current tall C-Max (with an ICE) before it gets chopped for the II (if indeed that happens). Nick Wintertime blues - 49.7 mpg (47+ at pump) yesterday on 112 mile loop yesterday (42-50 degrees).
  23. Luxo lite (our C-Max) works very well for us as well - bye bye BMW. Luxo barge, status vehicle, monster SUV, race car in a school zone - nah. Nick (How luxurious is too luxurious, said the Roman to the slave (carrying him from Brindisi to Roma))
  24. Great pics FCFM. I'll try to add a link here that is where we sometimes show what we have packed in our C-Maxes. Needless to say, you are using your C-Max volume storage very well ! Nick http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/2800-whats-in-your-c-max-today/
  25. "added awesomeness" is right Cat Max ! Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy ! Yes, and as you & Dr. Who say ""Bigger on the inside" perfection" - well almost. , Nick
