  1. But how did you get the nav to re-route in the first place? I was not able to avoid the accident at all.
  2. To reply, you have to go into the phone section of the screen. Then hit messages. However, many features are turned off while the car is running.
  3. I double checked all the settings in the Nav and traffic, detour, etc, are all on and set for automatic. While stuck in traffic, I did ask for a detour of the maximum miles and it just kept rerouting me back onto the highway with the accident. I finally just used the map to find side streets to get me to where I wanted to go. It was two hours of being stuck. It might have to do with the Sirius subscription. I hate Sirius, so I will not renew it. And I have never used this feature before, so I don't know if it worked prior to this.

    Fuelly - Again

I've been using what's listed at the pump, and my numbers are always less than expected. This last fill-up looked like this: From the pump - mpg average for the tank = 44.7 From Trip 2 - mpg average for the tank = 45.7 That's a huge difference.
  5. I have my first very frustrating problem with the Nav system. Terrible accident on the highway had all lanes blocked and cars were being detoured for a few miles. My Nav system could show me that there was an accident, but was not able to navigate me around the accident and to work. I thought it would be able to do that as my Garmin was able to detour without issue.
  6. The type of message I can send from MFT are pre-scripted. They have "Left work" and other typical texts that you can choose. I have not ever been able to send something I've written. My phone allows me to speak a text message, but my car will not do that.
  7. I've searched around trying to find an answer to this, but often the answers are hidden in other threads. So, sorry if this is a repeat. When entering information into Fuelly, which number should I use for the gallons used? What's on the gas receipt or what is showing on the trip screen? Thanks.
  8. I'm in central Florida - I haven't noticed any change.
  9. The problem with the odd sensor on the Ford cars is that the lights don't come on when it is raining or if you are driving into the sun, etc. In Florida with rain on and off all summer long, I often have to remind myself to turn the lights on. My Toyota Camry spoiled me.
  10. Because of my back injury, I drive almost always in ECO cruise. Even at low speeds. I just can't play hypermiling games with the peddle, etc. I am honestly very surprised that I hit the 500 mark. I thought that day would never come.
  11. Okay! I finished my first full tank of gas since the update. I have found that my highs and lows are more pronounced. I hit 56 mpg where I normally hit 51. But then I hit some lows that were surprisingly low. However, up until the update, I have never been able to get near a 500 mpg tank. Today I hit 521 for the tank. So even though it feels as if there is little change, there is apparently a rather large change. I drive mainly on the highway. I am still hitting ICE high during certain conditions with ECO cruise set at around 67ish. But my mpg aren't going nearly as high. I was around 48ish this morning. Then I had to hit the brakes, so I'm not sure how long it would have held. I feel as if the car has to get used to the update before we see any positive changes (though it is probably us that need to get used to it).
  12. I see a lot more than that on mine. The entertainment module and phone calls, messages, etc. I like it when I am running nav because the display is simplified and easier to follow sometimes than the center display.
  13. I always get a free loaner because they work Monday through Friday and so do I. So the only way I can get to work is to have a loaner.
  14. So far, absolutely no change on my mileage. I was in EV this morning while driving 70 mph on the highway. But my mileage hasn't improved.
  15. Had mine updated yesterday. Hmmm...I had 45.5 mpgs for the tank when I went in. And the first thing I noticed is that my mileage started dropping...FAST! I really want to get at least one 45 mpg tank, so I'm trying to baby it until I can fill it up. I noticed that driving one direction to the store I got 38 mpg. Driving home I got 51. And the car feels completely different. My EV + was gone (no big deal) and the Eco cruise was off, had to turn that back on.
  16. Freakin' hot here in central Florida. Park under a tree, if you can. I don't turn my air down any cooler than 73. You can increase the fan speed without it eating too much of your mpgs. But try to go below 73 degrees, and you're doomed. :) I suspect the hills are doing more damage to your mpgs than the heat. It's flat here, and I get anywhere from 38 to 51 on individual trips based on temperature of the outside air and hills. I now avoid one of the toll roads because it eats my mpgs. Also, your mileage will increase the more miles you put on the car. I just hit 10,000 and it made a big difference.
  17. Me, too. I drive mostly on the highway. I still need to call my dealer to schedule the upgrade.
  18. I posted a few weeks ago that the carpet on the bottom back of my seats came unglued. I'm going to have the service department deal with it when I bring the car in for the next update.

    replaced batteries

Take it to a different dealership. And you can probably do a 'buy back' through Ford and get another CMax.
  20. I'm excited about getting the update. I may finally see my highway numbers improve!
  21. I'm entering the information as Fuelly tells me to. The dash reported 44.1 for the tank. Fuelly said 41 for the tank.
  22. I will do the update. Most of my driving is on the highway, and my mileage is still not where I want it to be. I barely squeeked by on my last tank at 44.1. But Fuelly claimed it was 41. Whatever. :)
  23. Adair, I'm pleased as punch. Two days ago, I was in "inching along" traffic due to two accidents. It took me two hours to get home. My mpgs dropped to the low 44s, and I thought I would never be able to get it back into the 45s. But it jumped back up again. I've started getting 51 on the surface streets. I think my biggest problem is that I have trouble driving with the battery charged - I can never seem to find a technique that works for me. Also, my engine is warming up faster and I'm hitting 50 and even 60+ on the highway when I find the allusive "sweet spot" at 65ish. I found that mine is actually two notches below 65. But it's a fine balancing trick to not go too low and drain the battery. And my biggest sadness is that my work place is one of my EV + locations, but it's uphill from the time the EV + hits until I get into the parking lot. So, that EV + is completely wasted.
