Question for the high miles per tank people. When you fill the tank do you. 1. Hang up hose at the first click off 2. Run gas again till it clicks again 3. Hit the pump 2 or 3 times after first click off (me) 4. Pump gas till it runs down the side of the car 5. Forgot this one "I always take the meter to the closet $$, so i.e. $45.50 I would bump up to an even $46" thanks mtb 6. I'm thinking about a 600 mile tank, 13B07, perfect weather and no 75+mph trips. I have a little over 100 miles on this tank, MPG is averaging a little over 50.

Welcome to the website - some helpful videos for you & your new car
wab replied to Jus-A-CMax's topic in Welcome
Greeting and Welcome Did you get it started? I'm not going to offer much help on your Energi, sorry. If you call Ford roadside service they will send someone to jump or tow your car. It wont cost you anything. or you can try to charge it yourself. Somebody with an Energi should be along with better help. Good Luck and again welcome wab -
Similar to you most of our summer driving is at speed, that first mid 35 mpg was........ how to be diplomatic :gaah: ! A few decades ago I read an article with "scientific data" that pretty much said you have to be illegal for any aerodynamics to have any effect, at the time the USA legal speed limit was 55. When I read about shutters on the c-max I thought "yea right" then I saw them when doing the mods for our motor home. There is NO WAY Ford or any manufacture is going to spend that kind of money if it doesn't reward them with some major mpg gains! Now Ford says there will be some changes to the back of the 2014, makes one pause a minute say hhmm maybe those pods do have some value.

Just did our 3rd. Who can tell me how many miles it had on it??? My spreadsheet say the car has gone 7747 miles since the last change. Most (????) of those miles were at 75+ miles per hour pre 13B07. PLEASE don't start with the "your car knows when to change" and it will tell you when. Sounds good but what if we're 50 miles from home on our 675 mile one way trip to Colorado, turn around, stop at the next kill you motor oil change place in a jiffe, carry the oil and do it at a roadside park or wait till we get there (bad warranty idea)? 125 over the 500 then add 40 for the trip to get the oil. After +or- 15 years I've found a use for "Trip 2" ;) Reset at oil change subtract EV miles from miles equals miles on oil. :happy feet:

Where did you get your ground (earth)?

They even tell you what the amounts of metal in the oil means.

CVT transmissions have a reputation for having short lives. The C-Max has a "NEW" transmission that is already showing these tendencies. from the owners manual "Every 150000 miles Change automatic transmission fluid. (240000 km)" If we were not towing our cmax I would cut this in half NOW I think I'll be changing it @ 50K. Edit: "required maintenance" Did you know that Ford's core business is selling the box that CVT transmissions come in.

Working, THANKS

Here's somebody who is probably very interested. http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/2415-ford-c-max-taxi-fleet/?hl=transmission May even be the cause. Note to self and other people who tow their cmax: We have over 3K towed miles not registered on the OD. I have a hard time getting the ICE to run when we stop to "Start the engine and allow it to run for five minutes at the beginning of each day and every six hours thereafter. With the engine running and your foot on the brake, shift into D (Drive) and then into R (Reverse) before shifting back into N (Neutral)." I have to turn on lots of stuff (ac, lights, radio, etc) to get the ICE to even start, then it only runs for a little while, NOT 5 minutes.

Windows rolled themselves today
wab replied to AMSDPS's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
I had a similar situation my our traded MKX. Wasn't a fob, it was a key with the buttons on it. First time it happened (figured out after much research) I was lighting the fireplace. Second getting a (special :worship: yes dear) pan out of the back bottom of the cabinet. Third and final I was changing the oil on my motorcycle and down the windows went. Forced myself to develop the habit of NOT putting the keys in my pocket when I got home. Put them in their own little box on the counter. Problem solved. Note: didn't take long to get the habit after having to go BACK in the house to get the keys a :nonono: FEW  times. -
A couple of scenery pictures with Maxus in them would be a nice change for the Gallery. Edit: OPSsss I just checked our gallery....pictures on the way. wab

first thing...watch your brake score, that round blue circle that appears every time you stop try for those 98% circles. Speaking of stopping, they are the REAL MPG killer, you wont burn any gas at the red light. BUT you will leaving the red light. All lights are red in Fort Worth TX. I get terrible :rant2: mpg in town, great :happy feet: on the in town freeways and awful  on the 75+ mph long-distance-highways.

Finding a non-keyed fuse is probably going to be a problem, with the car going to sleep several minutes after key off/door open close. 70 Central lock and unlock supply 74 Headlamp supply 83 Central lock and unlock supply
-
Your battery probably wasn't completely dead, just to low to operate the relays. Plenty left to hold the settings.
-
Page "272 Fuses Passenger Compartment Fuse Panel The fuse panel is located on the right side below the glove box." Check fuse position 67 it's for the cell phone in an Energi, I'm guessing it's not keyed??? If it is try fuses 66, 67 and 80 it's unused but says (spare). More info coming tomorrow wab

Did you just do a trade? Or did Ford buy it back? These things are going to start showing up (probably already are) on used lots as certified and that is REALLY :stirpot: going to :stirpot: stir the pot!

Question regarding overriding the park interlock for towing.
wab replied to Instr-Tech's topic in General Discussion
Did your deal include a charge wire from your MH? Ask if they are installing new sockets/bulbs or planning to tap into the c-max wiring? "Most if not all of us are installing new tail/brake lights in the cmax, there is plenty of room + you don't have to disturb the cmax wiring." If they tap into the C-Max wiring :kookie: check EVERYTHING attached AND UNattached to the MH. After they finish I would ask them to keep the MH overnight and drive, drive drive the cmax! Hope this helps wab -
+2 Take a look at JohnnOhio's post # 246, 256, 269 in flob's link, do any of these symptoms sound like your's? Then look at this thread, you might want to print post #'s 4, 5, 12 and 15 and very diplomatically give it to your service writer. http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/2721-ford-software-issues/?hl=13b07 Keep us updated there are some really knowledgeable people on this forum, ceemax71 and zhackwyatt are just 2. And peolpe who can get a lot of good info in a short post :worship: fbov. Good Luck

Here in N Texas it's catch up time. :hi5: Little or no AC and little or no Heat, Oct and Nov. My mpg has gone up 1 already. OPS I forgot, :swear: :gaah: winter blend is on the way :rant2:  :runaway: And DO NOT EVEN start me on E10/15
