It's the ground and 12V from our motor home. It charges the 12V C-Max battery while we are towing. The ignition has to be on while towing which WILL run the battery down.

BY THE BOOK :baby: for the last time...PLEASE! Copy and paste from page 198 Owners Guide gf, 1st Printing USA (fus)" 198 Fuel and Refueling Do not make any unauthorized changes to your vehicle or engine. By law, vehicle owners and anyone who manufactures, repairs, services, sells, leases, trades vehicles, or supervises a fleet of vehicles are not permitted to intentionally remove an emission control device or prevent it from working. Information about your vehicle’s emission system is on the Vehicle Emission Control Information Decal located on or near the engine. This decal also lists engine displacement. Please consult your warranty information for complete emission warranty information. On-board Diagnostics (OBD-II) Your vehicle is equipped with a computer that monitors the engine’s emission control system. This system is commonly known as the on-board diagnostics system (OBD-II). The OBD-II system protects the environment by ensuring that your vehicle continues to meet government emission standards. The OBD-II system also assists your authorized dealer in properly servicing your vehicle. When the service engine soon indicator illuminates, the OBD-II system has detected a malfunction. Temporary malfunctions may cause the service engine soon indicator to illuminate. Examples are: 1. The vehicle has run out of fuel—the engine may misfire or run poorly. 2. Poor fuel quality or water in the fuel—the engine may misfire or run poorly. 3. The fuel fill inlet may not have been properly closed. See Easy Fuel No Cap Fuel System in this chapter. 4. Driving through deep water—the electrical system may be wet. These temporary malfunctions can be corrected by filling the fuel tank with good quality fuel, properly closing the fuel fill inlet or letting the electrical system dry out. After three driving cycles without these or any other temporary malfunctions present, the service engine soon indicator should stay off the next time the engine is started. A driving cycle consists of a cold engine start-up followed by mixed city or highway driving. No additional vehicle service is required. If the service engine soon indicator remains on, have your vehicle serviced at the first available opportunity. Although some malfunctions detected by the OBD-II may not have symptoms that are apparent, continued driving with the service engine soon indicator on can result in increased emissions, lower fuel economy, reduced engine and transmission smoothness, and lead to more costly repairs. 2013 C-Max Full Hybrid (34h) Owners Guide gf, 1st Printing USA (fus)"

C-MAX Hybrid Forum: How Can We Make This Site Better?
wab replied to C-MAX Hybrid Guide's topic in Lounge: Off-Topic
Any chance we'll be able to search for 3 letter words? (LED, HID) -
I'm jealous :worship: , but we run 75 to 80 eco cruise 90+% of the time with a few stops for gas and food = mid 30's frm N Texas to Walsenburg CO. and back. Next yr I'll try a few sessions WITHOUT eco cruise and reset Trip 2 after we're up to speed. Most of our new cars and motorcycles have been average. BUT I've had 2 new cars and 1 new motorcycle that were much better than identical cars/motorcycle. Looks like with this C-Max it's get back to average time...ooowelll. 1 good + 1 average + 1 poor divided by 3 ='s average.

Righ rear corner, you'll feel the lever. You might be able to use an "add a fuse." https://www.google.com/search?as_q=&as_epq=add+a+fuse&as_oq=&as_eq=&as_nlo=&as_nhi=&lr=&cr=&as_qdr=all&as_sitesearch=&as_occt=any&safe=images&tbs=&as_filetype=&as_rights= EDIT: When I first read this I thought 3amp hhmm, THEN I remembered LED's

I use Tire Rack, NTB and Discount Tire for research. The UTOG gives me the most info. Michelin's have a UTOG of 480AA for about $179 each it's a 55000 mile tire Continental ContiTouringContact CV95 360AA for about $199 each :spend: Yokohama AVID Ascend 740AA for about $141 each 65000 mile tire :) If I was ready to buy the Yokohama would be a NO brainer more milles lower $'s, almost or better MPG Here's my list from Tire Rack, Low Rolling Resistance only (show ONLY LRR ) ='s the 18 tires I'm interested in. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireSearchResults.jsp?filtering=true&width=225/&ratio=50&diameter=17&autoMake=Ford&autoYear=2013&autoModel=C-MAX%20Hybrid&autoModClar=SEL&sortCode=49700&tireIndex=0&wtpackage=false

Both shut down a few minutes after the car is turned off, at least on SEL's. Do you have an outlet right rear inside the hatch? It will be on all the time.

Anybody using something like this? Junior 12V Battery Charger http://www.amazon.com/Battery-Tender-021-0123-Junior-Charger/dp/B000CITK8S/ref=sr_1_2?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1381709880&sr=1-2&keywords=trickle+charge I use an older version on my motorcycles. The cord that clips to the terminals under the hood might reach through the grill, would be easy to make it reach. You wouldn't have to open the hood to keep your battery charged, just plug the cables together.

It's easy you only need a screwdriver. The pictures in the link have more info, take a look at pg. 3. This is from etrailer.com, I used the PDF getting ready to tow. Remove four plastic fasteners attaching the radiator cover to the upper grille (Fig.C). 2. Pull back the upper grille to locate four clips attaching the upper grille to the fascia (Fig.D — driver's side). Here's the link to the PDF. http://www.etrailer.com/instructions.aspx?pn=524432-1

The C-Max isn't a "normal auto." There is no 12V starter motor so no need for high Cold Cranking Amps.
-
Ford did the right thing because the C-Max can't get 47 combined (unless you're a hyper-miller). Now if the EPA will do the right thing because the C-Max can't EVEN get close to 40 on the highways we drive on (TX, CO and NM). HhMm maybe 75 is too slow, we'll try 80 in Utah next summer. I bet that's it 80MPH = 40MPG :yahoo: !
-
Anybody know or have any info why Ford went with a CCA biased battery instead of a deep cycle? I'm sure all those relays pull pretty good, but surely not as much as a starter AND relays in a normal car. All those relays need to stay operated while the cmax is on, so again looks like a need for a high amp hour rating??? Maybe they couldn't find one small or light enough? Probably just a bottom line item $ :lol2: .

Did you try the gas cap filler. I've cleared the wrench at least 1 maybe 2 times by sticking my finger in the filler hole a couple of times. It's been months, I can't remember if it goes out right then or the next time I start the car :headscratch: . If that's why the wrench is on.

The scroll compressor on our car isn't nearly as noisy as the scroll compressor for our house. They sound the same.

Which one the car or the phone? METROMAN Have you checked "Sync My Ride?" http://support.ford.com/media/syncmyride/intercept.html

First you kick him then you make him drive :finger: .

This has gone on SO LONG that I can't help but think. Ford is taking these sick cars out of their dirty, clean, wet, dry, hot, cold, rough, smooth, drive it every day, drive it once a week environment and moving them to a nice warm cool comfortable lab, scratch their heads and wonder " :runaway: WHY DON'T THEY DIE :runaway: "

PSA: Check your 5-bulb LEDS
wab replied to armoredsaint's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors & Wipers
The license plate bulbs are in a weather protected clear covered housing. Ours don't flicker but do stay on very dimly (VERY DIM, no battery problems) for a little while. -
Easy todo. Spray in the 2 oblong holes under the hood by the windshield. I looked on Pep Boys and AutoZone, couldn't find it BUT I know I bought it at an autosupply. I did find it at several dealerships, Infinity, Honda etc. Amazon says they have it but I only found it down in the "Sponsored Links" wab

+1 Dealer "adjusted" the L rear weather strip where it slides on the B pillar. No more wind noise.

The aero mods begin (Now working on Diffuser) !!!

Some day we won't have mirrors. Tesla, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Toyota, etc are almost ready now http://www.teslamotors.com/modelx http://www.lexus.com/concept/comingsoon/index.html Our motor home has mirrors and cameras but only 1 display. When I turn on the turn signal the display shows that side. Most of the time it's just as good as looking at the mirror. I've thought about adding displays and removing the mirrors. -
YEP works/worked for DW. Almost NEVER for me. I tried the single touch and the single kick...NOPE I tried the side swipe and side kick... NOPE I tried the double touch and double kick...NOPE We traded key fobs...NOPE etc etc NOPE We used to joke that is was my XX hands and size 13 feet. After the lift gate update the hatch works 9 out of 10 times and now I've retried the lock and :happy feet: it's working 9 out of 10... GOOD JOB Ford, thanks.

The act says that just because you replace all your bulbs with LED's or add your own DRL's and a wheel bearing goes out they can't void your warranty.
