  1. Yay for the new arrival!
  2. I got the Ford all weather mats for front and rear, and I ordered a CanvasBack for the cargo area.
  3. There is never a time that I don't have my air conditioner running. It is over 90F here during the day, mostly 92-96. I bought this car to drive, not to suffer. Even with that, I am still right in line with the promised MPG, and I just passed only the first 1,000 miles. I am, however, doing mostly city type driving.
  4. That stupid left foot rest doesn't make things any better. It makes the left leg bunch up, and then the right leg has to reach down to feather the gas pedal. So, it makes adjusting the seat much more difficult.
  5. I think you are getting at it, here. It happened with two Explorers, a Tribute (Escape) and my Murano. On the Murano, I did have the shocks and struts replaced, had the alignment done, got the tires balanced and rotated regularly, and kept up anything that should be maintained, and it still happened. I would carry perhaps a couple hundred pounds of scuba gear at times, but I almost always used more like a car. So, since the C-MAX is a smaller sized MPV, how will it be characterized? Will it be more like a vehicle that has SUV suspension issues, or will it be more like a car that doesn't have these issues? It would be nice to catch a break, in that regard. I got the extended tire warranty, and the extended vehicle warranty. So, if I keep up per the suggested schedule to maintain the C-MAX, I will hold Ford to task about the tires, if it comes to that.
  6. I sometimes get that, too, about the no ID. Funny, I'll get a text from someone, and then the next text will not show that same person's ID.
  7. Start thinking August 1. If it comes earlier than that, you'll be happy. (It probably will arrive a little sooner, but you will be happier if you expect later.)
  8. I was told, each time, that it was uneven wear, causing "cupping."
  9. Look for ProClip vehicle mounts. I also posted pics of my cell phone in the PC, in a prior post. Solid. This is perhaps the third car I have with the PC.
  10. I don't mind having it, but I don't think it serves much of a purpose, except to explain what is going on to someone that is a passenger. Nonetheless, if it weren't there, I am willing to bet that there would be complaints that it doesn't have something that the Prius has.
  11. I've had bad luck with tires in my last several vehicles, always from uneven wear. The tires start to sound like snow tires. I've had the alignment re-done, had suspension overhauled, and I've done rotations pretty regularly. Every time I tried to make warranty claims, they always tell me that it doesn't cover uneven wear. Mostly, I am told that I need to rotate more often. I got great tires from Costco, and I believe that they called for rotation at 6,000 miles, but I had the same issues there. A mechanic recently told me that I should rotate every 3,000 miles, which sounds ridiculous to me. The point is, I want to get it right on this car. Is it because I was driving SUVs? (The only car I recall not having issues was a Lexus that was not an SUV style.) Should I start paying for tire rotations before the scheduled 10,000 mile service? I am not doing any kind of driving that should be the cause.
  12. This is my first hybrid. I have been enjoying "the bug" of trying to improve my FE with this car. With my past car, I made little changes that increased FE by 1 MPG without hypermiling, and I was pleased with that. With the C-MAX, I have been deluding myself that I am only testing out my new car. Nonetheless, I find myself: Driving a different route than I had for the past five years to my most frequent location, increasing my drive time by a third, and adding extra distance;Memorizing my routes to plan on just where to apply EV or ICE;Taking local roads instead of the major highways;Trying to accelerate no faster than I can get away with, usually no more than the first Empower bar;Hoping I can glide to the light, which I hope will turn green, so that I can try to pick back up speed while going down a slight decline;Getting really enthused when I can get through a bunch of traffic lights without stopping, because they happened to be in sequence on that particular drive;Noticing how aggressive other drivers often are.On the plus side, I am saving money, and I think that my blood pressure has dropped a few points. So, it takes a little longer to get there. Big deal. I just try (I fail, but I am getting better) to leave a little earlier. You really start to internalize things pretty quickly with this car. So, I don't spend so much time looking at the gauges that I lose focus on the road. In fact, I think that I am more focused on the road, so that I can see what is going on ahead.
  13. Hmmmm. In the WFs here in Miami, I have only seen one charging station, and no FE parking.
  14. I passed the 600 mile mark at 719 vehicle miles, first tank of gas on the vehicle. My C-MAX had 113 miles on it at delivery, and I drove five miles to the gas station from the dealer.
  15. Welcome aboard! :) You might consider seeing an attorney about investigating the sale of a car to you without prior disclosure of the issues, especially if it was sold to you as a new car.
  16. It would be great if MFT would start up with whatever was on the screen at shutdown. Add that to the small wish list.
  17. I just placed my order for the CanvasBack. I went with finished edges, no zipper, d-ring flaps, and covering the child seat anchors.
  18. Is there a way to set up MFT so that it boots (at start up) to a preferred screen, such as NAV, when I first get in and start up my C-MAX? It always goes to the Home screen, and then I have to touch to get to where I want. If it can't be set as the Default, is there a voice command to show current location NAV screen?
  19. On this second tank of my new C-MAX, I have been getting 50+ pretty consistently. My Lifetime has been ticking up as I make more trips.
