3.5.1......Anyone? Anyone?
ScubaDadMiami replied to Adair's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
That's no fun. Since it could be a while, and since they did mess it up so badly, maybe they can find another dealer that has a hardwire connection for the upgrade for you. Besides, you can bring a warranty repair to any authorized dealer. Even if you are loyal to the dealer, you can just do something like this on a one-time basis. It could be a while for them to get the connection made. -
I have the fog lights. This past weekend, I went to a self car wash that uses the wand type of blaster, and tried not to direct too much spray into the grill. When done, I did get a yellow engine icon on the first attempt at start. A moment later, no problem.

Did you ever post pics of these? Also, will the heated seats still work with these over top of them?

I also use and like Gas Buddy.

I'm going to keep my AAA and GEICO services, in case of just such a mishap. Even with the extended tire warranty, I like the idea of options, such as on Sundays. Tough break. Sorry for your loss. At least it was a little less bad for you.

Different things. Vehicle Health is free, and is on both models. You get reports online after registering. The app for the vehicle is only for the Energi, though it would be nice to have all kinds of remote access to the standard hybrid model.

Maybe it is because owners are receiving mailers about the liftgate, etc., and whisper down the lane is making it sound like something else.

Connecting Android Phone Using USB
ScubaDadMiami replied to blacter's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
I only tried once, and that was my experience. I brought another cable down to the car, in case that was the issue, but I haven't gotten around to trying it. I have my Synch Specialist Training scheduled for July. I delayed this, on purpose, so that I can know the basics very well before going for the training. That way, I can concentrate on topics like this. -
I finally had a day using my C-MAX for something other than a daily commute, and it made the day a lot of FUN, giving me a chance to use lots of great features to make my life easier and better. First, I went to my mail box facility, picking up a bunch of packages and mail that arrived (including my tire pressure gauge, coin holder and LED bulbs that I ordered. :)) I found a perfect parking spot right in front of the facility, and that gave me a chance to try out Park Assist while parallel parking. Worked fantastically! (See separate post.) Then, when I came walking out with boxes and mail piled up in two arms, no problem. I just kicked the tailgate open, piled everything in, kicked close, and drove away in EV, feeling so cool in my computer on wheels! Slowpoke, my cocker spaniel, enjoys riding in the back of the C-MAX while I take him to the dog groomer for drop-off. After that, I swing by Costco, see the low price for high-test gas, and start thinking about whether to go for it for my next fill up. Of course, getting such great FE, I go right past the fuel pumps. I am still probably two weeks or so away from having to decide on what to put in the tank for my first fill since my delivery, almost two weeks ago. I come out of Costco, kick open my liftgate, and I add more items to the boxes I already loaded from my mail facility. Still plenty of room for more items. Hmmm. I could stop by the grocery store to pick up more things that I still need. Nah, it is over 90F outside. Better not chance ruining the items I already bought. I drive back home, making the last of the trip in EV+. I open the liftgate, using the remote switch in the cabin, for removal of my vast haul. On the way to pick up Slowpoke from the groomer, BING! Notice of incoming text message flashes on my right screen. I have Maxie read the email. I use the steering wheel control to call the sender, my friend. I feel like doing some driving, just to test out some other areas and conditions. My friend wants to hang out. I decide to drive 25 miles to meet up, going via NAV programed to the Eco-Friendly Route. I pull the steering paddle, search for the POI where we are to meet, and I am on my way. NAV picks or agrees with most of the route alternatives that I would have thought to pick for the best FE way to get to the destination. I'm just chillin', streaming Bluetooth from my phone, and enjoying the ride. Along the way, I drive manually for part of the trip, and I check to see how that compares to ECO Cruise Control. When I finally get home that night, I am getting over 50 MPG for the trip. Yeah, it was a C-MAX kind of day. Oh, there was one little issue that I am glad didn't turn out to be a real problem. I finally had a chance to take my car to a do-it-yourself, spray gun wand type carwash, now that the big storms of recent have passed. I almost had a problem with starting due to the water spraying into the engine cabin, despite my attempts to carefully spray to minimize this. Luckily, after getting a yellow engine icon on the first attempt at start, my C-MAX started right way on a second attempt, just a second later. (See the separate post.)

I have never had a problem parallel parking, but it was part of the package (303A) on my vehicle. I finally gave it a test yesterday, and I was highly impressed! Yes, it worked exactly as it was advertised. I hit the button and turned on my right hand signal direction. The screen told me to move to the car ahead of the spot. It told me to stop and shift into R. It turned the wheel to the right as I backed up, and then it spun left as I backed into position. The camera, rear alert and Park Assist told me when to stop, when pull forward, and when to make the final stop, in position. Sounds just like it should, right? So, what's the big deal about that? I wish that I had thought to take pics to show just how perfectly parked the C-MAX ended up. Sure, I was in great position between the car in front and in back of me. What really impressed me, however, was that my front and rear tires were perfectly equal in distance from the curb, about two inches away. The car just could not have been more perfectly parallel to the curb. It was very close and even, from front to back. Impressive! :)

Bad Cruise Control and Now Dead Battery
ScubaDadMiami replied to freddial's topic in General Discussion
We just got over more than a week of terrible, rainy weather. No issues. Then, yesterday, I had a chance to jump into one of those self-service car washes that use the wand-style power wash nozzles. While washing off my C-MAX. I did direct some blasts upward from under the car. When hitting the grill area, I became a little paranoid about blasting directly into the engine compartment. So, I mostly directed the blast downward at a sharp angle. When I finished the wash, I climbed in, tried to start, and got a yellow engine icon. Oh, noooooooo! I gave it another try, and everything worked. I drove off, thankful that I wasn't stuck. I hope that there is a fix for this, soon. I wonder why wind blown rain for days didn't cause an issue but the wash did. :headscratch: -
I am going to revise this to say 1/8 mile away, not 1/4.

I didn't remember to take pics of a few of these. I think my high is 53.6, so far.

Today was above 90F here, and it's been in the high 80s from my date of ownership. It hasn't been much time, but I am not having any trouble with the phone.

Them there's fightin' words! :redcard: White and lighter variations are popular in hot summer Florida. My last car was a white tricoat, and it looked great . . . until the chips and scratches started adding up. Professional touch up was expensive. The tricoat option costs extra up front and for the later touch ups. So, I decided to go another route with the C-MAX. This is exactly why I went with the Oxford White. I thought, Why go with an expensive paint job, and then they pay for all kinds of extras to protect it, and extra for the repairs? Once a year, I'll take my C-MAX to a professional, who will do all of the touch up in a way that will match perfectly, keeping the overall new look for a lot longer and for a lot less money than by going with all of the other costly protections and repairs. Honestly, the Oxford White contrasted against the tinting and Panoramic Roof looks pretty sharp, if I do say so, myself! It's also a smart money decision, IMHO. So there, Jus. You started it! :hysterical:

I think that most dealers are aware of the various programs out there, and they will match price before losing the deal. At delivery, my Al Packer Ford rep told me that they are aware of all such programs (military, Costco, AAA, etc.), and they match those terms all the time. I have no idea if they officially participate in any of the programs or not.

Tips for Renewing Sirius Radio Subcription
ScubaDadMiami replied to Laurel's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
I think you can even cancel online, or discontinue auto renewal. It's been a while, but I believe that this is the case. -
Sometimes the search engine is not the greatest. So, questions will come up again, from time to time. It happens. No biggie. Other than the fact that the pinned post was made, nobody has ever jumped on anyone for asking a question that comes from the manual or previous post. Besides, I know that I don't have a photographic memory of all that stuff in the manual! So, as Steve Martin used to say: "EXCUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSE MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeee!"

Nobody ever mentioned undercoating to me. Was that a dealer option, or did you get it done after purchase? I installed Dynamat in my last car, and it not only helped with noise reduction, but it also made the car cool faster (and the A/C work less) due to increased insulation. I started thinking about having it installed in the C-MAX, but I got concerned about this possibly affecting the noise canceling system. Also, the C-MAX is already quite quiet. On the other hand, if the undercoating is an easy addition to the underside, then it's something I might consider.

I'd say mine turned on from about 1/4 mile away. Fotomoto, I'd have to say that your comment was about the best I have ever read on the forum. :hysterical: :salute:

I just let EV+ come up on its own, without doing the 11 start-up trick, just to see how long it would take. It worked out just about the same. Came up as I was arriving home today from work. At about 400 miles, my C-MAX continues to break in well. :)

I ran the report again today. This time, I waited until everything was warmed up, and I made sure to have good cell reception. The report ran in about 20 to 30 seconds, it seemed, and ICE did not turn on other than normal. All OK.
