  1. I wanted to get an idea what was going on here. From viewing the video: Jack both sides up on the unibody. C-max may be different from focus but often there is overlap. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Stabilizer-Sway-Bar-Link-LH-Driver-RH-Passenger-Front-Pair-for-Volvo-Ford-Mazda/132091304519?fits=Model%3AC-Max&hash=item1ec1415a47:g:E0QAAOSwhE9bfd6x
  2. I would be very suspicious. Is there a bad feel or sound when you brake? Interesting price: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Front-Rear-Brake-Rotors-Ceramic-Pads-2013-2014-2015-2016-Ford-Escape-C-Max/161401033719?fits=Model%3AC-Max&hash=item25944053f7:g:JWoAAOSwIJtbeDTp:sc:ShippingMethodExpress!19008!US!-1
  3. The main point is that searching this site on google works better for me than searching this site from this site. I have mentioned this in a lot of posts. No problem on not doing the search. Hope your horn situation isn't too big a deal.
  4. I googled "fordcmaxhybridforum.com horn" and this was the first link http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/6223-horn/ last post, cmax-nynj fixed the loose connection on the horn.
  5. When was your build date ? C-MAX 2013-2015 January 19, 2012 through January 31, 2015 https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2016/RCMN-16V643-1077.pdf
  6. That sounds like a common situation with newer more streamlined cars. https://www.google.com/search?q=noise+with+windows+open&oq=noise+with+windows+open&aqs=chrome..69i57j0.7161j0j7&client=ubuntu&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 I eliminate that noise in my c-max by having two front and on back window opened and inch or two. (all windows also works.)
  7. From what you are writing I would be suspicious. I doubt the check engine light was about all those things. A lot of people with C-Maxes have gone a whole lot more miles without doing any of those flushes/cleaning. After googling "fuel induction service" it did make me think it would be a good idea for me to go fast up steep hill more frequently to blow out some carbon deposits.
  8. http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/6669-how-to-quick-and-easy-reversible-anc-delete/ Sometimes the noise cancellation system gets confused. Might want to try disabling it.
  9. It is not normal to need to get brakes replaced. It is not unusual to have rust. One way to get the rust off is to stop the car using the emergency brake a few times. ( I do not recommend this on a regular basis for it wears the brakes out and I do not think it i necessary. I do enough suburban driving that the brakes get used to get the rust off. ) This by-passes the regenerative braking and applies brakes in the back. Though in some respects the rust doesn't hurt the braking and will come off when friction brakes are applied rather than battery regenerative braking. If on a highway and using the emergency brake to slow down from 55 to 40 a few times I would think would polish the brakes substantially. Very Very Very Few people have had to change brakes, even with 200,000 miles. Ridges on the brakes, especially on the back, are normal. Though if you brake really hard the brakes will wear like a conventional car. I would think if you lifetime brake score is 95 or better, you brake would be in super shape. I would be on the lookout in case the service people are not familiar with the C-Max hybrid or they are out to make some easy money or both. This may have some more info: http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/5405-how-long-did-your-rear-brake-rotors-last/?do=findComment&comment=59684
  10. It would be good to get the old injector and see why it failed. What came to mind was manufacturer defects and dirty gas. Here's a thread on the injectors: http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/4791-fuel-injector-failure-every-37000-miles/page-4
  11. Welcome to the forum though you are also leaving. I am curious what electric you got and how you like it. That link doesn't work for me. It may because this site tries to monetize clicking on links using viglink.com and something gets messed up going to craigslist. UPDATE: The link works for me now.
  12. New 2018 C-Maxes on cars.com https://www.cars.com/for-sale/searchresults.action/?localVehicles=true&mdId=49085&mkId=20015&page=1&perPage=50&rd=99999&searchSource=SORT&showMore=true&sort=price-lowest&stkTypId=28880&zc=60202 (If you click on this link, then click on "continue to cars.com" ) 818 new C-Maxes on cars.com [added later, as of august 10, 757 for sale] [added later, as of september 6, 519 for sale] [added later, as of october 6, 319 for sale, 337 if energi's are included] [added later as of november 9, 181 for sale, 197 if energi's are included] That seems like a pretty low number.
  13. People have used cable chains on the front so there does seem to be some wiggle room. Though you may not be able to use cable chains on those tires. I am interested in how they will work out.
  14. I am trying to visualize the problem. So did you replace it because it was leaking grease or was there some other problem ? Was it because the inner boot broke or is the grease usually contained in a bearing whose seals are failing ? Any thoughts on why it failed. Road debris assault, weakness in manufacture, not put back right when trans replaced or just a lot of miles ? Thanks. I am very impressed you were able to do that.
  15. I bought two General Altimax RT43 tires to replace the noisy 5 year old OEM ones in the back. I was pleasantly surprised they were made in the United States, though General is owned by a German company, Aerojet Rocketdyne Holdings. I got the heavier load version of the tire and it seems like a real solid tire. Thanks to Plus 3 Golfer for the researching of it some months ago.
  16. I do not have experience with those but looking on amazon https://www.amazon.com/3D-MAXpider-Complete-Custom-Select/dp/B00IBONMAC/ref=sr_1_4?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1533043775&sr=1-4&keywords=maxpider%2Bc-max&th=1 " W. Flower4.0 out of 5 starsGreat protection without looking like an industrial floor mat.March 11, 2015 Configuration: Front Row|Color: Tan|Verified PurchaseFits the Ford C-max perfectly even though the manufacturer is not smart enough to know they have the same floorplan. Probably fits the Focus too as all three share the same exact platform. I'd rate it 5 stars if there was a better color match. I have the fuzzy version, and everyone that has been in the car really likes them. About 1000% better than thick rubber mats from the other guys. Great protection without looking like an industrial floor mat." I have the weathertech and like the rubber because it is easy to see the dirt and the water has little to stick to. These seem weathertech pricey to me. Also, they seem to cover the left foot area which the weathertech do not.
  17. I recently bought a 1500 watt sine wave inverter. I was going to hook it directly to the battery but after reading this thread over I am wondering if it was a good idea to get the inverter I got and where I should connect it. Most of why I got it is to run a device that uses about 400 watts in the car. It also would be nice to be able to utilize my faberware fry pan which I think is a bit less that 1300 watts in the car (not essential). I also could use it to back up my house backup power generator which is old or if I run out of gas. The most important thing is to allow the oil burner to be plugged in and I believe that is about 800 watts but my sense is it may need a lot to get started. (this is not essential and I would only run to heat up the house pretty warm and then turn in off until it needs it again. No electric and no heat is a bad combination in the winter.) So my questions. Did I buy an inverter that is too powerful ? Should I install a fuse to avoid the car's fuse from blowing first? Where is the best place to hook it up. The answer may have been stated but I am not really technically comfortable in this area to discern it. Thanks.
  18. The transmission is often covered under the hybrid warranty which is as I recall something like 8 years 100000 miles (more if in California !!!!!) Your situation may be different inasmuch most trans problems are about a noise, not leaking fluid. Lots of info on people with transmission problems. https://www.google.com/search?q=fordcmaxhybridforum.com+transmission&oq=fordcmaxhybridforum.com+transmission&aqs=chrome..69i57j69i65l3j69i60.9647j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 There is also the fordcmaxenergiforum.com for more energi specific forum stuff. As far as 14B07, not everybody got those. I did not.

    Windows

When the window switch is engaged fully it lowers fully or raises fully even if you end the engaging before the window reaches its destination. When the window button is partially engaged (like half way) the window moves as long as it is partially engaged and stops when you end engagement. So the current set up can do what you want, just not the way you want it. I don't know of an easy way to change it. I get a sense of the advantages of the way you would like it. When I leave the dog in the car it requires sensitivity to crack the windows the way I want them and sometimes they go all the way down.
  20. Perhaps you can get a maintenance quote from Koch from another state and use that to shop around, though I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't work. You might be straight forward and say if I can get a discounted agreement I will not be buying a Kia. Sounds like the dealers in Florida are politically powerful. By the way, you need to do it before the car is 3 years old and perhaps also under 60.000 miles. After that the prices go up and as I recall you need an inspection of some kind. There are many posts on this forum about how the high voltage battery will last a long time, perhaps longer than the life of the car. And no one with a hybrid has posted needing to replace the battery. ( I have read about problems with the C-Max energi because of the way the battery is charged differently, less conservatively. )
  21. Here is a place that sells the extended warranty at a substantial discount just in case that may effect your decision. https://andersonandkoch-ford-warranty.com/ For more info google "fordcmaxhybridforum.com extended warranty"
  22. You are the first person I heard about having a problem with a transmission that was replaced. C-Maxes have been going over 200,000 miles without major problems except for the original transmissions on the 2013 and to a lesser extent 2014-15s. I would not feel uncomfortable, I would be feeling more comfortable than if I had a 2013 and the transmission was not replace which is my situation.
  23. Question: do the front tires wear so much faster than the rear tires that they will straighten out uneven wear that is concentrated on the inside edge ? Keep in mind that the front tires may also have a lesser negative camber, and the time has to be fast enough that the wear on the rear tires during the evening process is less than or equal to the wear on the tires to be evened out. Question: how soon to rotate from front to back so that the noise of evening out the uneven wear is tolerable ? Question: does the vibration of evening out the front tires exasperate the transmission failure problem of the 2013s and to a lesser extent the 2014-5s C-Maxes ? I did do the reverse mount. Cost me about $25 each tire. Noise went away for awhile but it came back before tire wear evened out. This may not have been the case to the same degree of if I started to put 50 psi in tires when I first bought the car. My current plan/theory is to keep the rear tires on the rear and never rotate them with the idea that eventually I will have tires custom worn to compensate for the camber. ( I am open to where there may be some holes in that thinking.) When I put new tires on the back, things got so quiet back there that now the front OEM tires sound noisy(not unbearably ) and they are pretty new. I read that negative camber is safer with respect to the car sliding. But some of that added safety is lost when a portion of the outer edge of the tire no longer is bearing weight. My sense this is a design problem that Ford managed to not fix. Perhaps a class action lawsuit may have been needed but somebody has to start it and I was too busy and I would have had to be more aggressive with my service manager who I tend to want to strongly avoid.
  24. cars.com has 1167 new c-max hybrids in the USA for sale starting at 15,805 like 10,000 off MSRP They only have 57 c-max energis Some of these "new" cars may not be totally new based on me clicking on one link that had a bit over 3000 miles on it.
  25. I was thinking maybe a mustard/ketchup dispenser might work. https://www.ebay.com/itm/8-24OZ-Plastic-Squeeze-Bottle-Condiment-Dispenser-Ketchup-Mustard-Sauce-Vinegar/361721619175?hash=item543849e2e7%3Am%3AmdgdaMkycHjrapG0N1LPlLQ&var=631034206682
