One idea I had is try to locate where the sticking is taking place, then wire wheel or even better buffing wheel them up with a focus on that location. My guess is that the metal gets weathered and increases the stick. A couple other ideas which you probably know but ... A 3/4 inch socket is 19.05 mm so maybe will give you a slight advantage. Getting the nut out of the socket will be easier if the nut is not taken completely off, perhaps with some very gently tapping. I tried both a 3/4 and 19mm socket and some of my lug nuts also stick. I had been using a lug wrench which for some reason wasn't so much a problem.

Why are you in need of another set of lugs nuts ?

I personally have not bought these. All three claim to be genuine Ford parts. I am pretty sure this is the right part number for it was confirmed on two websites however not 100% The website says this fits the C-Max https://www.amazon.com/Ford-CV6Z-1012-D-Wheel-Lug-Nut/dp/B00M375OI6 This is the same part number but the website says it does not fit. (It is less than half the price.) https://www.amazon.com/Ford-CV6Z-1012-C-Wheel-Lug-Nut/dp/B00M375MBK/ref=pd_lpo_vtph_263_lp_t_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=BFCR3F8ZH0H0AMVVT266 From ebay but only three available https://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-Ford-Wheel-Nut-CV6Z-1012-D/302454871213?epid=1317839457&hash=item466bb714ad:g:RtQAAOSw42dZKuSG&vxp=mtr

I would not describe my C-Max as "roaring at the slightest incline." Perhaps you might want to test drive another C-Max for comparison for maybe there is something wrong. My C-Max makes a louder noise when the gas engine is recharging the High Voltage Battery(HVB) but backing off the pedal will not stop that noise unless the gas motor stops and I am moving on electric only. And that noise I would not describe as a roar but as a lower frequency pulling drone sound. When that noise is present which is when there is regeneration, on the main left display screen there is an up arrow on the top right. (It might be the empower screen but I am not sure that name is correct.)

Does our car really NOT HAVE a "Low Washer Fluid" indicator?
obob replied to CarpeNivem's topic in Interior
I also assumed my 24 thousand dollar C-Max was going to have a spare tire, and I assumed it would have a locking gas cap. I also assumed that my cell phone would work with bluetooth and the rear tires would not wear like someone forgot to design the car right and the 12 volt battery would not go dead 4 times for mysterious reasons. ( BTW, Ford fixed the dead battery thing which never was a problem with 2014s and newer. ) -
Mileage and Build date for eCVT that have failed
obob replied to Automate's topic in eCVT / Transmission
Interesting. Has a ring of YES to me. I am curious what makes non-defective transmission bearings fail. Vibration, something gets out of balance, something warps ?? Added later: I had the thought that some kind of resonance thing gets put in play with 2 electric motors and the gas engine. (there are other video or resonance on youtube that I find interesting. (like syncing up metronomes) ) -
Mileage and Build date for eCVT that have failed
obob replied to Automate's topic in eCVT / Transmission
So let me put what I think is being said here with perhaps some small additions to see if I got it right. The transmission problem that used to be fixed under the 8 year 100000 mile hybrid warranty is now being fixed with a kit that doesn't change any hybrid parts. And in that way it is no longer a hybrid fix so it is covered by the 5 year 60000 mile drive train warranty or an extended warranty. But after that it is not covered by the hybrid warranty because even if the whole transmission including hybrid parts get really messed up bad, it isn't covered by the hybrid warranty because Ford will say it is because of the bearings. -
Did you get 2 or 4 tires and did you have pressure sensors installed ? Thanks.

With respect to "punchiness." I just checked Consumer Reports 2015 C-Max vs 2017 FusionHybrid for performance and the C-Max is .1-.2 seconds quicker in all the categories(0-30,0-60, 45-65,1/4mile). Speed at the end of the 1/4 mile was 1 mph less for the C-Max. (So it might beat the C-Max if there were a 1/2 mile test which makes sense for the Fusion design has less wind resistance. ) It is possible Consumer Reports used the numbers from an older year and assuming you had a newer Fusion, maybe Ford did some better tuning for quickness and the noise when the gas engine is charging the battery. By the way, the C-Max has the Consumer Reports check mark for recommended which is a pretty big deal. Also, if you run your tires at a higher pressure, that will increase cabin noise and harden the ride for the Fusion probably has the standard pressure. Also, according to Tire Rack some 2017 Fusions have 18" wheels which might effect the ride and "punchiness."

Did Ford totally quit Sync 2 support?
obob replied to Redshift's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=8736056 Your post got me thinking. The link above illuminated more of what is going on. I am not to the point of thinking CE isn't a problem but there is more to it that I was aware of. -
Did Ford totally quit Sync 2 support?
obob replied to Redshift's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
I have blocked out many memories of SYNC 2. If I didn't I would have been grossed out and missed out of the excitement of getting a new car. (Same thing with my 4 dead battery episodes that may be SYNC 2 related.) I had to by another phone to get the bluetooth to work. And there is other frustration. Now, when I play music I use the 3.5mm jack and that seems to work and the bluetooth speakerphone works so I am "content." That is why there is a SYNC 3. I suspect Ford was convinced to throw money into 2 and finally realized that was hopeless. It is based on Microsoft Windows CE which in my understanding doesn't have a good reputation. -
It sounds like you have committed to that dealer, but this sure sounds like something that would be worth a second opinion. This may sound trite but I feel pain reading this. I personally bought the longest extended warranty to avoid this for a few more years, though that probably is not an option for this. (By the way, there is a message thread on this site that has the name of a dealer that sells the warranty at a discount, though as I recall, the car needs to be under warranty or there may be some inspection needed or something. That is where I got the info to buy my extended warranty from http://andersonandkoch-ford-warranty.com/minimally getting a quote from these guys will give you pricing leverage getting one from a dealer.) You might consider writing Ford if you haven't committed to this dealer. That sounds outrageous.

Turning headlights all the way off
obob replied to avotius's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors & Wipers
I have a 2013 SE and the headlights are not on if the light switch is in the most counter-clockwise position which agrees with the description in the manual. Maybe it has something to do with having daytime running lights which I thought were only on Canadian cars and some fleet cars but maybe the 2015s are different, or maybe something is not right. -
To see if your car has any required fixes that need to be done you could go to this website, click on the "vehicle" in the first black row and enter in your VIN (vehicle identification number) http://www.etis.ford.com/

Welcome to the forum. I am curious what is the difference in mileage with the kind of driving - city vs highway? Also how the charging is different? There may be a slightly lower break in period mileage as well as your first C-Max may be reporting a slightly higher mileage if the tires are worn. (Worn tires are a bit smaller)

if I drove "58 miles to work" I can see wanting the drive be over as quickly as possible without getting a ticket. ( that is a big hunk of time and a good candidate for self-driving car.) 36.2 is great mileage for aggressive driving in a car that a tall person can be comfortable and still small enough to allow an easy drive. Having once been an aggressive driver, I like my choice of not so aggressive and not worrying about tickets or increased chance of road rage incident or accident.

Happy 100k 2013 C'max owner; unhappy drivers in snow
obob replied to djc's topic in Articles, News & Reviews
I just keep a set of snow cables in my car. There is a thread where Jus-A-CMax used the snow cables to go up a road to a ski mountain. A couple snow tires or tires that have a better rep than the OEM tires on snow would probably would also help. I haven't had a problem. I have had a good experience on a icy parking lot that was inclined and the traction control worked rather well. http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/805-let-is-snow-let-it-snow-let-it-snowcmax-at-mammoth-lakes-ca/ http://fordcmaxenergiforum.com/topic/3285-snow-chainscables/ https://www.google.com/search?q=fordcmaxhybridforum+snow+cables+site:fordcmaxhybridforum.com&safe=off&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwi_9Mjo-8jWAhVC4CYKHdxkDa0QrQIIQigEMAE&biw=1399&bih=932 -
Perhaps it is related to the front shocks getting weak.

I don't have an SEL so I am not sure of your exact panel but there is a lot of stuff on the internet. https://www.google.com/search?q=car+dashboard+noise&oq=car+dashboard+noise&aqs=chrome..69i57.504j0j1&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 I would try to simulate your holding the panel with some kind of padding, perhaps with a good tape though one link suggests self adhesive foam strips. I have gaffers tape which I really like. Maybe stuffed in a crack. Taking apart the panel seems too big a deal for me. I have noticed that some of my rattles with previous cars change with temperature.

Does the electric motor battery charge while gas engine idling?
obob replied to coolslug's topic in General Discussion
If I were to leave the air on with the dog in the car I would put a sign on the window explaining that. I have had two instances of dog loving women stalking me out to dump on me for leaving the dog in the car with the windows cracked open after sunset, including informing me about how fortunate I was that the police were not called. (I'll spare you to irrational details.) -
How do the FuelMax compare with the Michelin Energy Savers ? I am somewhat interested in the FuelMax because Goodyear is an American company.
