  1. I was correcting misinformation about the Plug In Prius (aka PIP) not the Ford lineup. Sorry for the confusion, I will edit my post for clarification.
  2. 98mph avg? :shift: INCREDIBLE! :headspin: I love this part: "There was also a police scanner, two GPS units and various chargers for smartphones and tablets -- not to mention snacks, iced coffee and a bedpan." Ewww......
  3. The Plug-in Prius has a 62mph max in EV mode.
  4. I don't have an Energi so I don't have an answer but I'm curious as to why you use the delayed charging method. Do you have TOU metering?
  5. I just tried it and got in. Found these three listed of which only the last one needs completing: 12M02 - SYNC WITH MYFORD/MYLINCOLN TOUCH - WARRANTY EXTENSION COVERING ACCESSORY PROTOCO L INTERFACE MODULE (APIM) 13B10 - FUEL ECONOMY CUSTOMER SATISFACTION 13C07 - RECONFIGURE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) MODULE
  6. You've got enough, GO FOR IT! 12.4gal is when I start sweating. Anything past that, I'd have a backup plan. :rtfm: :superhero:
  7. LOL, told ya'! You should have more favorable winds on the return so you'll get 900+ on the way back for sure!
  8. The avg. trip in the USA is 11 miles. Most of mine are under 10 but in several segments per day. If you can charge in-between, you can drive gas free. Also anything under 10miles, even in a hybrid like the CMax, delivers less than optimum mpg due to a cold ICE (gas engine).
  9. Even here in the summer, I've found auto a/c will divert air to other vents including the floor when I'd rather have the center (face) vents 100%. Driving in sandals, the toes can get pretty chilly when it opens the floor vents. It typically switches back before I get uncomfortable.
  10. Thanks Adair. Although it's nice to be "King of the Hill", I feel it will be very short lived. PTjones is all ready working on a 900'er. Looking back on my run, I sincerely feel a 1,000 tank is realistic even without aeromods. It would take a total city run, all speeds under 45mph, every drive would need to be a long stint with a warm engine (50-75 miles min.), good weather, etc. A true endurance run.
  11. Hmm, I never considered crashworthiness. On another note, if mtb got a special mode made, they could possibly close in the air gap that the 2014 is suppose to fix.
  12. +3 on holding it down. I didn't think of that in my first post. Due to the floor plan, I can't see my garage door until my wheels are almost to the driveway so I usually push and hold the button about a house away. Now the bad news. I found out why the door opener motor failed early: broken torsion spring. <more sighs>
  13. I wish you good luck! I would think the westbound leg would be tough due to headwinds. Last time I checked, there was a pacific front sweeping east across the lower section of the country. Let us know how it goes.
  14. I would suspect it also because it isn't flammable too. Back in the old days, I used it in photography labs. It would displace air in large film developing chemical containers to retard deterioration from oxygen.
  15. I was sure I could catch jus-a-CMax but I thought Paul was going to be the crap shoot. What I haven't disclosed is that I decided, in pool terms, to try to run the table. Saturday was going to be hot and windy while Sunday's forecast called for cooler temps and nearly zero winds. Monday (today) called for hot and very wind (gusts to 45mph). Thus, Sunday looked to be both a sign and the perfect wave so I was going to surf it. Plus I didn't have any personal obligations. :) Temps were in the upper 60's to low 70's with a light fog (proof of no wind). Sunday morning traffic would be very light to nonexistent. I had laid out a city course with as few stops as possible while also keeping speeds low (under 40mph). Over the days run, I avg an astonishing (for me) 72mpg running avg. Needless to say, the remaining fuel went much further than anticipated and suddenly a new goal appeared on the horizon: 900 miles! After the earlier euphoria of eclipsing our resident experts in the 800 zone, I felt gutted as I rolled to a stop in a parking lot a mere 5.3 miles away from the 900 plateau. :gaah: BTW,after putting in a gallon or so and restarting the CMax, it continue on as if nothing had happened; no coughing, wheezing, error messages, etc. What an amazing car! :salute:
  16. I have a chamberlain 3/4hp. No issues with the home link but........ the drive motor started failing last week. And it's out of warranty of course. sigh......
  17. Yes, going with simple math: approx. 1 gallon left with a 64.x mpg tank avg. it appears you are spot on with the 864 estimation! :spend:
  18. Yes, that's the one I referred to. Yes, I did. Last I "heard", you had back pain and were getting treatment/massages. Has it elevated to something else: broken, surgery, etc? I have a coworker that needed one of those locking braces around his head and neck with pins in his forehead, etc. Bad stuff indeed. On my 700 tank attempt, I got to 12.98 but didn't run it dry (chickened out). I really tried to get much more in on this fill up (see gas stain photo). We'll see.....
  19. Sorry, I didn't know as I hadn't been keeping up with his thread. I've been busy behind the wheel.
  20. Jus trying to include you in the conversation. Nothing more. See what I did there? :) Paul, I'm not empty. I hope to still have a gallon or more left! So I'm continuing on :shift: hence my reference to Jus. Gas can at the ready. :superhero:
  21. I was going to use it on the car in some fashion but decided to get both kids an iPad mini for Christmas. Since it now appears just about everyone has received their check, I was wondering what you are going to do.
  22. My personal philosophy: spending that kind of money on a mod that doesn't improve performance is a "NO!". Most cosmetic mods would fall into that category but if it's just a few bucks, I'll consider it. To stop the spread of the on going clear coat failure on my wife's honda civic, I'm considering wrapping the roof with 3M carbon fiber wrap. It's a coupe with a glass sunroof so not much paint surface to cover. I've used it on some of my motorcycles and the rear bumper of the CMax and it's holding up well. Wrapping a hood should cost less than $100. This is a 3-dimensional product. If you run a fingernail across it, the CF weave will make a zipper type sound. IOW, it's not just vinyl with a printed surface; AKA fake, AKA "carbon fiber look".
  23. Yeah, the butterflies start churning in the ol' stomach once all those low fuel warnings come on! :waiting: Jus, do you feel something on your back? :detective: It's a target! :) 64.4 MPG I can't believe it myself!
  24. Plus the CMax is a heavy car. An object in motion :shift: tends to stay in motion......
