  1. Agreed. That's a significant amount of experience/data; but there's the temperature delta. Adair will go through huge swings in her zone and 13B07 supposedly address some temperature issues.......
  2. No one has a year under their belt with the 13B07 update. Comparisons will be clouded by that.
  3. I'm a firm believer in karma so that SOB will get what's coming to 'em. I feel for ya' wab but like others have said try to focus on your wife's more important positive news.
  4. Well, there's only one solution! BTDT :headspin: If you have the Energi model, you should also sign up for this forum too: http://fordcmaxenergiforum.com
  5. YEOW-SUH! Don't feel too bad. As a kid, I did the same thing to my parents '68 Pontiac GTO LeMans. I was trying to "help" my mom by pushing the car out of the garage in neutral (slight down slope) and got the open drivers door wedged between the garage and a small tree right next to it. It seemed like a good idea at the time.  Back to this thread, it's a slippery slope between personal and corporate responsibility. Tough call but I'm going to "vote" that you have the majority of the blame in this case.
  6. Great to hear you got an Energi. The cars are nearly identical in most aspects so you'll find a lot of good information here on the hybrid forum but you should also join the Energi specific forum too: http://fordcmaxenergiforum.com/forum/2-welcome/
  7. This lady has had three deer accidents and now she has a plan! :detective:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gX0koxsRXVQ
  8. Opps, I read it as purchase Aug of '12 not '13. He would have been a reeeeeellly early adopter. LOL Yeah if the window sticker didn't have the 47/47/47 rating at the time of purchase, the OP is out of luck.
  9. Yup, most folks got them starting back in Oct. http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/2829-recall-13b10-fuel-economy-goodwill-payment/ I'd suggest giving the official Ford customer service line a call and have your VIN handy. Good luck!
  10. Bill, what exactly is on OASIS? Just this message? Software update? What you forwarded seems like a typical disclaimer that would be covered in the Energi OM. Is it for dealers to give to complaining customers? I've only had mine a few days but so far it seems pretty close. 26 miles est. this morning :happy feet:
  11. An easy way to see the difference in power drawn is to call up the usage meter in "My View". Anything that draws on the battery is a potential mpg killer but the wattage on the seat heaters (on lower settings) is probably small enough that other variables in a daily drive obscures it.
  12. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radio_Data_System Could be the local station data stream isn't working. I've experience that before.
  13. Looks like the front end of a salt lakes racer. IOW, aero. Once your happy with your final design, you should get someone to paint the grill design back onto the covers. :)
  14. After 8 months and 18,000 miles, I still haven't used the vehicle report but you can find out if your car needs any updates here: http://www.etis.ford.com/vehicleRegSelector.do;jsessionid=E30D3A623902D8F34C56C1F25A6F6A05.eccvas507 Oh, and welcome to the forum! :happy feet:
  15. WOW Paul, that fender crumple near the A-piller tells me it was a pretty good impact. Glad to hear you and covers came through undamaged. Now you can spec. them as "Deer impact certified"!
  16. Yeah for me it's the unseen: wind AKA our gulf breeze. Typically, mornings are calm and afternoons are strong.
  17. WOW, ya'll must be pretty strong as the CMax is not light! <rimshot> Seriously, congrats on your new purchase. We, too, had a van (quest) when the kids were younger and also got about the same mileage (wife got 16.5 and I got 18).
  18. We can tell them apart by the window tint and license plate (or lack thereof). And, oh yeah, one is plugged into the wall. Good question Laurel. I'll be driving it as my wife's commute is nearly all highway. Thanks Fr. Bill. After trading in the Volt for the Cmax hybrid last spring, I eventually began to missed all the challenges and opportunities that plug-in driving has. My goal will be to eventually get to 100% EV driving daily but I'll need a level 2 charger for sure since that can vary between 40-60 miles a day. :kookie: Yeah, I originally went with the hybrid over the energi because of price :spend: and, more importantly, room since our other car was a small coupe. Now that we have room with the hybrid with its cargo carrier, adding an NRG to the mix greatly eased my apprehension about room. It handles the weekly grocery run for a family of four with no problems. But it won't take large items like this screen door that fit in the hybrid.
  19. Along with a good case of light headedness too! :kookie: I just couldn't resist the great deals on 2013 Energi's. I looked back in the summer but the deal wasn't very good but now there was $6k in discounts including rebates along with 0% financing. Add in the $4k tax credit and I just could not longer say no.
  20. WOW Shelly glad to hear everything turned out "OK". Seems like our poor CMax'es are a glutton for punishment. Freezing? It's 86F and sunny here. Did this happen during the previous cold front?
  21. GM thought of that with the Volt and gave it a second, more polite horn chirp that is activated by a button on the turn signal stalk. I thought it was perfect and used it to signal my kids at school pickups because A) it wasn't offensive and B) very distinctive so they always knew it was me, especially at night. Here's what it sounds like: and here is the version for the Prius Plug In:
  22. Back in 2009, I went to a grass roots style test drive of pre-production Volts in San Antonio. They had some engineer types there and when I asked one about battery temps vs performance he said, "if your comfortable, it's comfortable" and added that 70-80's was best which jives with your spreadsheet pretty well don't you think? Folks that drive in a temperate climate (SoCal for example), typically get much better mpg's than everyone else. I've seen it proven on forums over and over again. When I was shooting for a 900 mile tank, my final run was on a near perfect day: 74f, low humidity, and no wind. I achieved over 72mpg for the entire day not just one trip.
  23. Yes I did. I agree with you on the pricing. I was just adding a post with some "facts" instead of rants. Sorry, shouldn't have quoted you.
