Added a ScanGuage II. I haven't programmed the special X gauges in yet that will reveal some hybrid specific readings.

Liz, we can see a larger version of the pic by simply clicking on it. GOOD JOB!

Well the air is certainly rarefied up here in the 700 mile club. :flirt: You guys never mentioned the complimentary champagne and caviar. :spend: Opps, was that a secret kept from the "lowly" 600 club members? :rtfm: ;) I present to the :judge: When the car hits its stride, watch out. I swear it knew what was going on as one of the last legs was one of my best ever; just like a world class thoroughbred thundering down the homestretch!

Hmmm, we'll see. :headscratch:

Well it comes with some the best LRR tires currently being made. How many miles do you have on the originals? I'm hoping for at least 50k. Anyway, here's what I gleaned from the PriusChat forum I still frequent. They have a lot of experience that shouldn't be discounted just because they own a different brand. I have personal experience with the first three listed but they were on three different cars so I can't really compare. For those who just want to be told what to get here it is: Michelin Energy Saver A/S = The ultimate in mpg, good wear but lacking in performance. Good wet braking. not great in snow. Low noise and comfortable. The hypermilers dream tire! My personal favorite! Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max = Great mpg but behind the others in road noise, handling, and overall road manners and performance. Great tread wear but lacking wet traction. Good snow/ice traction but behind the EP422, barely. Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 = Great mpg! It is behind the Energy Saver A/S but higher than the Fuel Max. Good wet traction, great snow traction, poor handling tire but lacking in dry braking and cornering ability. Comfortable and low noise. Tread wear average. Continental PureContact with EcoPlus = Better fuel economy than the ProContact, very high tread wear, excellent wet braking and handling, great steering feel but rides a bit rough. Continental ProContact with EcoPlus = Least mpg of those listed above (just behind Fuel Max by a few 10ths) but what it loses in mpg it makes up for with excellent handling and wet traction, very high tread wear warranty (but some say they wear out fast), low price, and low noise.

It sure would be really great if some of our early adopters didn't have the 13B07 update. No one has experience with it in cool to cold conditions so getting a good apples to apples comparison is iffy at best. Since just about everyone got the update, I'd suggest using the magnetic ones to perform some highway tests (round trips at 65, 70, and 75) with and without the pods on the same day; a day that doesn't see a huge variation in temps. Also, make sure the car is completely warm (20 miles) beforehand. Even better, use a passenger to install the pods and not tell the driver thus eliminating that variable.

calling for help. Cmax owners in Toronto, Canada

I would suggest finding another 303a pkg on the lot and verify it that way. -
Ohhh, so close to 59mpg but it's been hot the last couple of days and I just had to turn the a/c back on. Sorry FrBill it came down to .2 gallons difference. And thanks to Jus, Recumperence, and others who haven't been playing so I could be #1. :happy feet:

Many aftermarket DRL's have a control unit with a sensor wire that is attached to a headlight wire. When the headlights are turned on (manually or automatically) the DRL's control unit will switch off. This makes installation easy-peasy (+ & - wires along with sensor wire). I found some name brand ones on Amazon for significantly less. The caveat is they are bigger (deeper) but should still fit if mounted by the FORD logo slots. The middle and bottom grill openings have the shutters to contend with and could be fouled by any installations there.
-
Now why in the world would you think that :headspin: notion? ;)
-
First thing I would do is peer underneath and see if the wiring harness/plug is there in or under the carpet. Game over if it isn't or it will be much more expensive to add one.
-
Well I don't think this will classify as a short trip and, yes, start/stop at same location. :spend:

South Texas, got it today. Check printed on 10/3/13

One fellow recently posted of filling up with 13.7 gallons while milking it on an out of state trip but that could very well be a cheating gas pump (my guess) since he hadn't run out of gas.

AFAIK, it's always been one of the selectable options in MY VIEW. Previously I had the engine temperature or tachometer there but now that I have a scan gauge I have both of those displays on it.

Hmmm, I'm going to guess you work or have worked for either Kodak or RIT. Do you know, Bill Destler, the president of RIT. He owns a Volt. http://www.rit.edu/news/story.php?id=48419

That's a good way to look at it. A cooler, evening run netted even higher result (76% EV): Which helped give me my highest ever total for an entire day. (Yes, I know this meter isn't proof. :camera: You'll just have to trust me!) ;)

Mainly for financial reasons, I've always tried to conserve but it took purchasing my former Volt to get me seriously looking into our electricity use. Between adding CFL's and LED's, additional attic insulation, replacing a couple of critical windows and patio doors with modern units, experimenting with the programmable thermostat, shopping new electricity rates, and replacing an old, inefficient a/c compressor fan, I cut my charges by over a third. This was more than enough to pay for the Volt's usage so my bill was still lower than before.

Thanks! I must say, no A/C use really helps. I didn't try too hard this morning and only netted a 50.1 but this afternoon I made a concerted effort and it paid off in spades. This is the highest I've ever achieved on a daily commute leg: Perfect storm: air temp 85f, low humidity, engine temp 190-202f (scan gauge), no HVAC use (windows down), little to no wind, and light traffic. Start/end at same point.

I know it's silly, but you have to see the umbrellas I just bought.
fotomoto replied to CarpeNivem's topic in Interior
Yes, those slots work perfectly for a small umbrella. We also use them for extra water bottles when the doors and center cupholders are occupied. I also use the space under the rear seats for our large golf umbrella that is used as a sun shade at outdoor events. Folding the seats down doesn't seem to hurt it but we don't typically put a ton of weight (pun intended) on them. -
And to bookend the same day, this evening's errand run was even better!
-
Well I suspected this would happen. Yes, the long labor day weekend is included in August. Why? I haven't a clue. Also, gas prices are nearly into the magical $2.xx level here.

Back to the original question, mine stays in Recirc as long as I keep it on auto and select Recirc. On our summer road trip vacation, I kept it in Recirc for the entire day while traveling out of Texas on I-10; four occupants, temp set to 74F and CC set to 80mph. :shift: We stopped for either bio-breaks, meals, and/or fuel about every 3 hours. :waiting:
