  1. That's good to know slampro. I was also looking for a nice, used 2010+ FEH while shopping but the pickings were pretty slim around here (OK, none!) and gave up on that idea.
  2. http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/1921-dead-12-volt-water-in-electrical-connectors/
  3. Reset trip 2 now and see what it says this next Dec. I think you'll find it much higher.
  4. Good points about the power vs non-power as I felt the same way but like many things in life once you get them you become accustom to them. One feature the SEL has that "I just can't live without" is the handsfree (no key) system. Have had this on three other cars going back 6 years so now having to use a key or a remote feels barbaric! This is actually my biggest gripe about the SE/Ford. It should at least come with a handsfree drivers door (cough*Prius*cough).
  5. IIRC, we've had at least two owners have their original C-maxes totaled from accidents and get another one (hippie-mom and ?). It would be interesting to know if they have seen any big differences.
  6. I'm sure you don't want to hear this but I recently filled up for $3.12 (supermarket marketing campaign discount).
  7. I do a nearly identical 20 mile route twice a day with the biggest difference between the two being a completely cold engine in the morning with the typically cooler morning temps. The difference between then and the afternoon trip is usually a difference of 4-7mpg's (lately 43am/48pm) even with more wind in the afternoons. Later when I run evening errands with a now very warm engine and very comfortable air temps., I get 50 to nearly 60mpg's on those outings.
  8. One piece of advice: SEL There's several good reasons why it outsells the SE. Also, two or three days driving the C-Max will be enough to retrain your muscle memory and then you'll think the Intrigue has crap-tastic brakes. My wife's Civic EX has "uber-soft" brakes and I can't stand to drive it now.
  9. So, I guess it didn't have the necessary quota of beer and maple syrup?
  10. What's the build date? That info is on the sticker on the inside edge of the front door opening next to the large hinge.
  11. I wonder what scubadad is doing today? :hysterical: :stirpot:
  12. As they saying goes, YMMV (your mileage may vary) and that greatly depends on your driving environment. I got 46-48mpg in my Prius (50 EPA or 50+ like many on those forums could get was just a dream for me) so even before I bought the CMax, I figured I'd get about 42mpg and early results seem to reflect that. I now drive a larger, roomier, and more powerful car with more features. Is that worth the difference? You betcha'! :happy feet:
  13. I missed this when it came out. Enjoy. :) http://www.autoblog.com/2011/06/20/ford-uses-dog-powered-rube-goldberg-device-to-demonstrate-c-max/
  14. Although his location isn't given, his review is from February which could mean his first car was driven in very cold conditions. Too many unknowns.
  15. Good question. It may depend on the software protocols the engineers have put in. With the Prius, the answer is yes but really only as an emergency measure. A dramatic drop in mpg's along with the ICE running MUCH more are the typical initial signs followed by the "christmas tree" (dashboard full of warning lights). 8-10 years from now when the batt. warranty is finally out, I wonder just how "old tech" our Lithium Ion batts will be? :headscratch:
  16. With the battery at it's usual 3/4 mark, I can fill it with a good long brake/regen from highways speeds. Trivia bit: if you power off/on the car with a full bat, it will spin the ICE to burn off some excess charge.
  17. While prepping the paint for my Opti-Coat application, I noticed three paint chips on the front end of the 'max with only 2500 miles! Modern paints may be better for the environment but they sure are soft. I have experience applying vinyl and window tint and have all ready made my own rear bumper treatment: http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/1835-custom-rear-bumper-treatment/ so I feel confident to install this stuff myself. I just ordered both the front bumper and hood (small) kits. THANKS for the link.
  18. I think wab is referring to the accumulation of EV miles over a 10K period and then subtracting that amount for true ICE miles. For instance when I traded my Volt in, it had nearly 10k miles yet the ICE had only run for about 1k of those and the oil monitor was still at 90%. 10K synthetic oil change intervals on a hybrid is comparable to 5k intervals for a non-hybrid.
  19. My car was built in mid-march (3.5.1) and has had basically zero issues (had to reconnect my iPhone 4s once) so I wouldn't stress over anything with your now latest build date. I'd suggest you relax, breathe deeply, and enjoy your new ride. :happy feet: Plenty of time for all the other stuff. Don't forget to register on syncmyride.com too once you're an official owner. Oh, and also don't forget to look for the high price cup holder divider before you leave the dealership!
  20. Since you have an SEL, look on the exterior side of the windshield near the mirror and you'll find an identical spot. This is the rain sensor for the auto-wipers.
  21. Especially here in the humid south, use re-circ as much as possible. The urban myth that it raises CO2 because of the lack of fresh air is wrong. My personal feedback says auto-a/c favors efficiency (fuel economy) over comfort level. I view this as a good thing and keep mine at 75f most of the time with occasional drops to 73f if the sun is coming through the windshield (I have tinting on all the other windows).
  22. Ding-Dong!The witch is dead, the witch is dead! Thanks. I activated it all the time while trying to refresh the "view new content" button.
