First I had lots of trouble downloading the update. Had to update Java several times including redoing the Java plugin in Safari. Finally got the update on a usb stick and proceeded to the car. It only recognized the stick in the upper usb outlet and then it failed several times to complete and cancelled on me while driving to a movie. On the way home, just a black screen with repeating messages that it could not update. The next day, I moved the car out of the garage and plugged in the stick again and went away for a half hour. Upon return it was all done...finally. So now to report the success to Ford. You must reinsert your usb stick into your computer to report it. I did that and got all the way to the part where you select the file, but the web site at Ford was unresponsive to that request in Safari and in Firefox, even after a number of attempts. Today I tried Chrome, and it worked. So now Ford says I have a dealer installed update to do... DA5T-14D544-BD Gen2 - V3.6.2 I thought that was the one I just did. Very confused!!

Bill N, this procedure will not work on Macs since they do not run exe files.

My twin at the taco place
MtnMarty replied to MtnMarty's topic in Sightings - C-MAX Hybrid's Spotted!
No, not White Duck this time...Zia in West Asheville. I like White Duck better though. -
Just back from dinner at the local taco joint and lo and behold in pulls a Ruby Red Twin of mine. Gave the guy info about this site and talked of mpg's and stuff. Yea, Ruby Red SEL's. :victory:

I tried to download it today on my Mac with both Safari and Firefox. I even updated and enabled Java, but it wouldn't download. Called Ford Synch and first she said she'd mail me a flash drive, but then upon further checking, she said it wasn't ready yet for hybrids, only Energi. So she suggested I have the dealer do it. I'm going in Friday for several items anyway. Really weird...Microsoft...ugh.

So upon pulling into my driveway this evening, lo and behold, a new milestone in the ever creeping up of my lifetime mpg. Also, finally figured out how to post pics...so here goes:

Got 42.7 on the 350 mile drive from VA to Asheville, from 10 feet elevation to 2200 in 90 degree temps going 70. So I guess that's not too bad.

Usually because either the service guy applies the wrong file or the service guys don't have the updated files on their laptops.

During my current trip from Western NC up I 81 to NJ I previously reported a disappointing 42 mpg, a repeat of the same average I got a couple of months ago before the update. But yesterday we drove 350 miles from NJ to Hampton VA in stop and go traffic along the eastern shore of the Delmarva peninsula we got 47.5. We arrived here with 545 miles on the gas tank stats and about 2/3 of a gallon left. I'm pleased with that. Tomorrow it's 700 miles mostly along interstates; so we'll see what happens.

Hello from Asheville. I've had my Maxy since April and love it. Asheville Ford did the upgrade last week and I've been traveling for a week and coming home tomorrow. On my latest portion of the trip I got 47.5 mpg in stop & go driving down the eastern shore of VA. Welcome and look for my Maxy when you're in town.

I wish I could use downhill assist but it doesn't work on my car. Dealer put in a query to Ford for me and they're supposed to fix it next week when I go in for the headliner. When I push the button on the side of the shifter, nothing happens.

You would think that either the GPS or the paired phone would set the clock.
