  1. Going below 70 mph makes a noticeable and 65 mph is a good compromise. It would be interesting to try and experiment and see what happens. First raise tire pressure to 50 psi, second don't use cruise control, third use 93 octane Premium( ethanol free would be better) and fourth keep speed below 70 mpg and would expect you should see an increase of 5 mpg. If not than I think something else is going on. Paul
  2. You don't drive a CMAX like a Prius to get good MPG's, watch my YouTube videos to learn how. http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/6568-how-to-drive-a-cmax-hybridffh-to-get-great-gas-mileage/page-1:) Paul
  3. With 100k ICE miles and abut 206k miles total changing the plugs didn't make a difference for me. What kind of winds did you have? Any rain? I get better MPG's driving myself over ECO Cruise. Using all my tips I usually get around 52-54 mpg at 70 mph. Although my last tank going to FL and back I only got 49.1 mpg, but I was driving up to 80 mph and it was up to 97*F had to use A/C and the humidity was bad. Paul
  4. Just saying, I got 26 mpg with my 2008 GT500 6 speed manual. :) Paul
  5. Nice but there went your MPG's. :) Paul
  6. Emissions test shouldn't take more than 15 -20 min., you didn't say where you are having it done. You don't have to take it to the Dealer. :) Paul
  7. Also I'm wondering if you could take a 2013 CMAX/Fusion Energi and exchange the HVB with a new 2019 Fusion Energi HVB with extended capacity to get 25+ miles on a charge. Did Ford improve cooling on newer Fusion/CMAX's? Paul
  8. Hows the alignment? With 80k on tires they wear more on inside edge than outside at 50 psi. Paul
  9. I have pics of Hybrid next to Energi cell to show the difference in size. I got these pics from GreenTecAuto.com who refurbish HVB for CMAX and Fusion Hybrid and Energi's. Paul
  10. Did you try adding any of the fuel injector cleaners? I agree octane isn't going to solve the problem, but injector cleaner should. I use Premium and still use fuel injector cleaner. :) Paul
  11. Most trans don't fail and some did at 27k mi. , you didn't explain why you didn't extend your warranty when you were having problems. It's only Ford's problem when it's under warranty. Have you taken it to Ford yet? We would like to know what the problem is. 99% of us LOVE our CMAX's and we take good care of them, sorry you are having problems, why didn't you trade it in on something else? :headscratch: Paul
  12. Seems to me Ford is the only place that is going to be able fix your problem. I'm wondering why you didn't extend your warranty out to 125k-135k miles with you having problems with the car. I did when I knew that my trans was going to fail I was getting close to 100k miles. Trans failed at 98k mi. and was covered under warranty. I currently have 211k miles and new trans is fine and I'm getting great MPG's. :) Let us know what you find out, typically the car goes into EV Mode and you can go another mile or two. Paul
  13. I could be down in your area Sunday, Monday, what's a good time for you? You could PM me. :) Paul
  14. I'll help you out. :) You can have some fun with this by having your HVB regen charged up to the top when you turn off the car. Let it cool off for a few hours so when you go to start it up the HVB charge should be maxed out and should be able to go around 2 miles without starting the ICE if you stay below 35 mph. The ICE will automatically start the first time when you get to 35 mpg to lube the trans. If you stop before the ICE starts you will get 999 mpg for that distance. :) You will be amassed how powerful the motors are when you stat out with high charge and cool HVB.. Paul
  15. I went to the Show and was pretty much a waist of time. green tec auto was there, they refurbish CMAX/FFH and energi batteries. www.GreenTecAuto.com They did have single Hybrid and Energi batteries, Energi battery is about 3 times bigger than Hybrid battery. I wasn't thinking and should have taken pics of both. I'm trying to get them to email me pics so I can post them. Paul
  16. I liked the Music! LOL :) I liked the NOS Octane Booster definitely improved gas mileage and has injector cleaner in it. Chevron Techron has a good reputation and Lucas too. Paul
  17. The Atlanta EV/Hybrid Club is having a National Drive Electric Week Event Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018 2 PM-6 PM in Atlanta Link: https://driveelectricweek.org/event.php?eventid=1519 Paul
  18. Interesting idea, but I replaced my rear tires because I got a hole in the sidewall of one of them. Practically speaking to do it you would have to look for favorable winds, temps 75-85*F and watch the elevation changes. The most efficient way to drive for MPG's is to drive non stop, don't let the ICE cool off when you stop. 1,000 miles is a long ways, about half way across the Country. Preferably you want to use 93 octane Pure Gas and then add NOS Octane Booster, I've used 90 octane Pure Gas and NOS Octane Booster. :) My wife says she doesn't want to go on anymore MPG Record breaking trips so I guess I will have to do it by myself. You need to average atleast 72 mpg to do it, so I was 4 mpg short on my last Record Breaking Run of 68 mpg/950 miles. :gaah: LOL :) Paul
  19. Well my Fuelly average went up to 49.1 mpg now and this is some encouragement for others that even with 208k miles your average can still go up. Last Tank I got 61.3 mpg. :) Paul
  20. I'll check it out and let you know. :) Paul
  21. I was wondering if you had looked at my YouTube video How to get Great Gas Mileage, I do watch the SOC in it.: http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/6568-how-to-drive-a-cmax-hybridffh-to-get-great-gas-mileage/page-1 I haven't noticed any change in HVB display behavior in 6 years and I have monitored SOC for at least 4 yrs with my ScanGaugeII. The lowest I have seen the SOC on the ScanGaugeII is 27% and I believe HVB Display 0% is actually 32% SOC and the Top 100% = 65% SOC so assuming the gauge reads linearly 50% would = 48% actual SOC, 75% would = 57% actual SOC. From the standpoint of getting the best MPG's you would want to keep the Display % of charge between 25% and 60% and actual SOC would be 38%-52%. As far as turning off HVB Display, it is a useful tool for getting better MPG's, I guess you could put a piece of tape over it. I do drive down to your area on occasion if you were interested having me look at it. Interested in what the Dealer has to say about it. :) Paul
  22. Well I'm going to be in Knoxville, TN Friday Sept. 7 to see my Daughters Family so I will be looking for some 93 octane ethanol Free gas. :) Paul
