Don't buy factory wheels and don't buy tires from the dealer You can buy aftermarket wheels and save $2000 if you feel the need to go to a smaller wheel and tire package. Otherwise, buy the 17 inch tires. It crazy to buy new factory wheels from the dealer.

They moved them inside to keep them from getting wet and to reduce the attraction of rodents :)

It's available in the SEL trim, but you would probably pay a lot to add it. You would probably need to buy all the components, have them installed and get the system initialized and programed. I would say it's gonna be a very expensive add-on. I don't even know if the dealer would consider doing the programming ? I have dealer level service with my IDS. I can re-configure the vehicles build data, but I don't know if any dealers would do it. It's a lot of work and only Ford's IDS is capable of doing it. Not many Indy shops have the tools or the knowledge to do this type of work. I've been doing stuff like this for the last 20 years. It can be done. It's just not gonna be cheap.

I would ask the dealer if they properly CHARGED the battery this time too :spend:

Sidewall rated @ 51 PSI. I have 50, but I will be bumping it up to 55 :)

Ford sales up for Sept, Auto Industry down

I don't know. I purchased my C-Max Energi on 8/18/13 and it's been absolutely fantastic. I do have a miner concern about the SOC on my 12V battery, but it hasn't been an issue. I'm currently tracking it, so I'll know if it's an actual problem or not. I love my :flirt: Energi :wub2: -
I use a digital gauge. That's the one I trust. Actually, I bought 4 of the same brand and use one in my car, one on my motorcycle, one for my wife's car and I keep one on my tire machine. The tire machine has it's own, but it's not a digital readout. You could also TPMS data from the TPMS module and see what the sensors report. Whatever you do, stick with one gauge. IMO, the digital gauge will be more accurate than the gauge on your air pump. I use this brand for my Mountain Bike http://www.amazon.com/SKS-Airchecker-Digital-Schrader-Pressure/dp/B001OMQK6Q/ref=sr_1_116?ie=UTF8&qid=1380692030&sr=8-116&keywords=tire+pressure+gauge This is the one I have 4 of http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BYM4YK/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Just set the A/C to a higher temp and lower fan speed to help reduce it's impact. You might also use the recirculation mode too. It helps reduce A/C load by using the cabin air that's already been cooled down "VS" outside air.

It's an easy fix. Do away with the key, like the SEL package has. Just push a button and you're done :love_shower:

The calibration update allows EV at a higher speed. I'm not sure it will affect temperature related MPG's
-
No! It's not... I was just guessing based on his reply :)

You need to let them to the recalls as well as update all the control modules. It's software designed to correct known problems.

What? No memo :noobie:

The Energi is SEL trim only. We do get heavy traffic, but I have lots of Mt backroads to travel on. I don't do the rush hour traffic grind. I work for myself and make sure I avoid it by alternate times and routes. I get way better hybrid MPG's on the backraods. I use the EV charge in town.
-
It's all relative. I'm sure others have worse mileage. Driving habits are the biggest variable to MPG numbers.

My salesman didn't even know enough to close the fuel door after filling it up. He was pushing on the steering wheel buttons like they were a manual lever. I was just glad to get him out of my car. Some people just aren't meant to deal with certain vehicle operations. Sales people have such a high turnover rate, they never know much about anything. Most sit around on their smart phones all day. When a customer enters the lot, they're like a pack of sharks headed for the kill. I laugh every time I go to the dealer for parts. It's always a new group of salesman, but they all do the same thing. Hangout and wait for the next person to pull into the lot. If the dealer management had a brain, they should keep them from grouping up and waiting by the front door. It's pretty sad to be accosted when you drive up.

So the dealer will give you some salesman as Coach ??????????? :spend:

I drive an Energi, so I've never even seen an SE Hybrid. I like the Sony sound system and the My Ford Touch with Nav. I also have a smart phone with Nav, but having one in the car helps if my wire drives it. She's not tuned into electronics, so the car Nav. is available for her. I'm not retired and use my car for work everyday. I never get stuck on I95 or any other freeways. I also have HOV stickers if that ever comes up.

This is not correct. Everything is still powered by the 12V battery that same as all non hybrid vehicles. The only thing powered by the HVB is the hybrid drive system. Even the hybrid controllers are powered by the 12V battery. The DC/DC converter will charge the 12V battery, but only with the vehicle in RUN mode. I would advise you to get a battery charger for this vehicle. I use this one and many others on the Energi forum have purchased one. http://www.amazon.com/Schumacher-SSC-1500A-SpeedCharge-Charger-Battery/dp/B000H961YI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1380558502&sr=8-1&keywords=ship+%26+shore+1500+battery+charger We are working on finding out why the 12Vbattery dies over time. The site is not working right now, so I can't get you a link.

You sound like someone that's retired and only uses the car to get from A to B because it's better then riding the bus. I use my car everyday. I enjoy music during my travels for work. I also like having the Nav system to find new customer locations. My comfort while working is just one of the reasons, I drive a C-Max Energi with Nav and Premium Audio ;)

All this data is a RECOMMENDATION. It's generalized information. Tires are subject to driving habits, tire pressures and balance. If you drive more highway than city, you can wait longer to rotate. If you drive more city, you'll find you need to do it more frequently. Do you see that I'm avoiding time or miles. It's all based on your use, pressures, and driving habits. Me personally, currently run 50 PSI in all 4 tires. I drive mostly city (70%-30%) and don't brake late or turn too fast. My schedule is set at 5K miles for now. I do all my own work, so it's easy for me to look at my tires and make decisions on what they need. Most owners neglect the balance aspect of tires and just rotate them. They don't worry about tire pressures and run whatever the shop sets them at. Most don't even check them. If they do are they set properly ? Is it according to your driving habits and tire requirements, or just some random number they use ? Don't let some shop make these choices for you. It's something you need to control so you can get an idea of what needs to be done and when. Most shops don't see the same car all the time, so it's hard for them to give proper tire advise. Most drivers get the standard RECOMMENDATION and tire pressure settings. Only to find out to late, this isn't working and the tires are wearing bad or have now become scalped/cupped and need replacement. Proper pressures, rotation and balance are all part of tire care. Leave one out and you'll find tire problems, but probably to late to save an otherwise good tire. Get a plan set and stick with it. Check the tire pressure at least once a month. For the 225/50/17's, 50 PSI is working perfect for my car and driving habits. Here's my tires @ 3500 miles.

Now that you have a car that's capable of reading the effect of running accessories and the added resistance from wet roads, you'll find lots of things that will affect your MPG numbers. The higher the MPG numbers are, the more notice you'll take of the changes. Happy Motoring :)

 This is most entertaining.

Dealers don't order stripped down units for stock. They get stuck losing money to move them off the lot. Most buyers want :flirt: NAV and a Premium stereo with an SEL package. I know I did :yahoo:

Running the defroster runs the A/C compressor no matter what speed the fan is on. Tire pressure minimum is 38 PSI per the door label. I always run higher pressure on all my vehicles. Better wear and tire life are the other benefits. Better MPG is the main goal.
