Used gallons: 11.69. Filled: 12.02. I've been using the same gas station/nozzles, fast fill to click for every fill-up. I figure the key is consistency.

You got me! I meant I had 3 buttons that do the work of 5!

Thanks, asb. I have the seat at the highest height, and can reach the pedals with no problem. When I start out in the morning, no problems, but when I come home after a day of sitting, it gets to me a little. I'm guessing it's the degenerating body, not the seats, that is the problem! ;)

Just in case some may not be aware of it, there is a small indentation inside the console, underneath the USB drives, which can be used for coins. The floor of the indentation is sloped downward, and seems to have some kind of padding, so coins don't slip. You can't put a lot of coins in there, but it's handy. I just realized it was there a few weeks ago. Not too difficult to access.

On my 166 mi. trip up Freeway 5 from SD to Irvine and back, I set my eco cruise to 67, and managed to get 41.3 mpg. On my commute I usually get 50+ going, 38ish coming home. IMO, the EPA is understood the EPA numbers (for any car) to mean it can reach that mpg, not that it will always get it. After driving a 25 mpg car for 7 years, I'm happy I chose this silver gray sucker!

I was getting ready to ask the same question, Adair. Just started a couple days ago.

I was running on red the other day, "low gas" messages popping up, "18 miles to E". Wasn't brave enough to keep going. Turns out (per gauge) that I actually had only run through 11.69 gal.

I've been lucky so far. Keep waiting for someone to ram their door into one of my doors! Sorry about your damage, Gandor. At least you won't have to worry about touch up paint!

I love the look of my silver gray with black leather interior. But who knows, when the 2014 models come out, they may have a completely different color set.

"Maybe I will be brave and ask the dealer in town for some." I'd go for it, Rachel. I imagine they see it as more of a safety issue, which may be why the package says not to charge for it.

Re the Grade Assist (tangent): one of the engineers at the Irvine get together mentioned that you could keep the assist on, and it wouldn't activate until you were actually going down a hill. Keeping it on (usually by accident) would do no damage was his point (not that you should keep it on).
-
Adair, I get the same.

The waiting is a pain, but exciting! Make the most of it!

They asked me about the "lap vents" at Irvine. It took me awhile to figure out what they were talking about -- had never heard the vent called by that name. Luckily, once I figured out what they were talking about I was able to demonstrate my great knowledge and expertise of this lower vent. Made me feel so smart! On that note, some of the engineers noted how many of the people who mentioned the forum seemed to be much more "in the know" than the general Cmax population. Made me feel proud to be a member!

PT, thanks for taking one for the team!

Going up to Irvine from San Diego and back (for the Pow-Wow), primarily on Freeway 5 (maybe 5 miles city), I ended up with 41.3 mpg -- 166 miles. Not 47,but I was pretty pleased!

For the hybrid, as opposed to the Energi, I think it's really just a fun perk. When I come home, up a long hill, and then to the flat road, my EV+ will come on, and the battery will usually be less than 1/2 charged when getting home. When I go to work in the morning, ICE comes on (cold engine) for about 1/2 mile, and I travel DOWN that same hill. By the time I'm at the bottom the battery is close to full, if not at 100%.

HAven't had time to really jot down all my impressions of the get-together in Irvine yet. It was 3 hours of continuous personal interaction, from the moment I got there (7:40AM -- I was #1) until I got through all the teams. I had to call a couple time outs for a cigarette and potty break! It was over an hour before I was able to look up and realize that there were a bevy of other maxes and maximizers along the row. When I have a little more time, I'll write a little more. But I knew that Jus would take care of updating everyone in his prolific style! Re the test drive: they hooked me up to their computer, and we took about a 5 mile drive south, on streets doing 35-50 mph, and then a little bit on the freeway north back to the Grand Pubah offices of Taco Bell. (Aside: I agree with Jus in one of his postings: you'd think they'd have a TB restaurant in their headquarters. Granola bars just didn't cut it. The coffee was good, however.) One team member was the "direction giver" and the other was taking notes (on something) in the back seat. FYI: Sync update, according to two of the engineers, should be coming out next month for the c-max.

MFT current version CMAX SEL, V3.1.3?
roninsd replied to JohnTrigger's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
One of the engineers at irvine mentioned that the cars most recently built are having the sync update installed, and guesstimates that the update will be coming out for previous owners next month. -
When I first got my car, the seats felt very comfortable. But for the last few weeks, my middle back has been hurting after sitting for awhile (right side). I don't know if it's the seat, or me. I get the feeling that the lumbar adjustment, which I usually don't use, is not completely deflating. Just a guess. Or maybe the side of the seatback has gotten a little stiffer. It's a quandry.
-
ASB, I have 3 settings: moving forward/backward, back of seat reclining, and the lumbar button.
-
I use it for my phone.

Tom, if you're asking what they're for, I use one of them to track miles/mpgs since my last fill-up. I use the other when I want to track a certain trip (like driving from San Diego to Irvine today), again to track mileage and miles traveled. You reset the Trip odometer/information to zero by pressing and holdg the "OK" button on the left side steering wheel. I find having two is very helpful, allowing tracking of multiple "trips".
