I have seen a few of these ads for the Prius 4. The other one I saw was from the internet streaming. I think it was Autoline Detroit. That one had the Prius powersliding and spraying water/mud at a big 4 wheel drive truck. Good marketing to say that it is more performance based now. I am really interested to see what Ford has up its sleeves for the C-Max replacement. I think it is about a year away. Maybe we will see it at the next Auto show here in Detroit (Jan 2017)? They sure don't seem to be doing much with the C-Max as far as improvements for the current model.

Mine lasted about 10 months. I think it should last longer. We will see on battery #2. Other key is still going after 16 months.

I do try to not run the cabin heater for the first few miles if I can. The electric seat heaters help a lot and for a few miles I am OK. I can get 40 to 50 MPG for my 10 mile ride to work even when it is cold. Today it was 19 deg when I left home and I think I was about 42 MPG for the route. All city driving. I think running the heater from the start will shave off about 5 MPG or so. As others have said too, the lowest FE figures for the C-Max is still better than most ICE cars and that is only a few months of the year. I am still ready for spring to come! Nice to see the days starting to get longer :)

What did the dealer say when you picked up the car? If they did not tell you it needed tires then I would think that someone entered something wrong in the computer. Just a guess. I would talk to the dealer about the emails.

I do agree that the cold does hurt the FE but it really is only a few months that is the worst of it. My lifetime avg is still about 47.5 on the dash. I am happy with that.

Not the first time I have heard this. like anything it takes time for techs to learn about new technology. I have heard that some think that with using 48V systems the OEM's can do a very mild hybrid system for very low cost. Enough so that they say it could become standard for every car. Kind of odd topic but the techs will have a lot of experience then.

Just curious where that number comes from? I would have guessed that the cost would be way higher.

Mine is very quiet with on electric. I drive a lot without the sound system off and I have never noticed this sound. A pedestrian alert would only be needed in elec mode. I don't say I noticed anything in ICE mode either. If you can hear this all the time when the ICE is on then maybe test drive another C-Max at the dealer. If you hear it there too then it is probably normal. If not take the service guy/gal for a ride. Just an idea.

Previous reports stated that Ford is working on an all new designed from the ground up hybrid. I think that is a good idea. I hope they keep the basic look and height. I love the looks of the Chevy Bolt and I think it looks like the C-Max. I know that one is all electric. I think I remember hearing sometime in 2017 or 2018?

If I remember right the lifetime mileage on the 2013 is just that and not resetable? I think I have that on mine but it is resetable. Again if I remember correctly? I did forget about that difference. Thx

I think getting an SE with the MFT option will give you the same sound system found in the SEL unless you get the Sony package.

What displays are missing on the 2014 model? I thought my displays were the same as the 2013?

If you have a smart phone there is software for tracking. I have not done this but I have seen others that have done so.

Paid $1.53 the other day at Costco. lowest price in Detroit area currently via Gas Buddy is $1.36. There was a story the other day that there was a gas war in a small town up north in Michigan. Price was $0.76 a gallon. Way cheaper than bottled water. ;)

I guess this depends on how you look at the info here. I looked at this issue and found (according to the poll) that owners of SE's with the MFT (touch screen) had very few reports of issues. You will have to look at the poll and the numbers and decide for yourself. The battery issue had many solutions along the way including wiring harness issues. I looked at 2013 vs 2014 and decided that a newer car gave them more time to work out bugs. I do agree that the standard SE had a lot of battery issues at least at first. To me the MFT was a must have partly because of the battery issue. I think it looks more high end than the standard screen and I think the sound is much better too. I bought a 2014 SE (with MFT) and have been very happy with the car.

Interesting. I became married last year. We have been with the same insurance for years but not married. I was excited that I might get a discount for being married. I asked my agent and he thought there was. When I asked again when I renewed the policy I was told that they only offer a discount for no dependents and you had to be single to get that. So the many years of meeting the requirements for no dependents and being single is now gone and I never received the discount. :drop: :drop: Insurance companies are great as long as you give them money and don't ask for anything back.

I think so but it is more keeping the ICE off than running on EV. I would assume that if it will not go into EV then the ICE will not shut down. I have many times been able to go some distance with just EV. I would mainly look for an area to where I am descending for a while and then put it in EV. The ECO cruise will do the same thing. I think it helps. I do wonder why they changed the programming on the 2016. Does that mean that an update is coming for ours to switch it back?

Does it show a trip summary at all? I really like this feature. Without this it is kind of like having a game with no high score. ;)

Another factor is the incentive plans. I know in the past Ford has once in a while had big incentives on the energy. Some say they do that to get their fleet average down. I have heard of pricing that gave you the Energy for about the same price as the Hybrid. Any incentives like this recently?
