Todays screenshot another 500mile tank and still going
mtb9153 replied to mtb9153's topic in Fuel Mileage
LizM, to answer your question yes when I refill I reset my trip 1 everytime.. I no longer have an accurate lifetime since I mistakenly reset it as well. As for the odometer I'm not sure I know how to do that, doesn't it reset everytime the trip 1 is reset? -
Glad to hear from you in Madison, my GodMother lives in Monona off Bridge Rd. Love that community, been quite a few years since I was there. I washed mine tonight and sure noticed allot of nicks in the paint all over the body, not just on the hood. Didn't realize they were there until I got all the dirt off the paint. Part of ownership I guess? Enjoy your Platinum White

I'll take it into advisement, I'm not sure if I want to do that since it will mean measuring the spacing and equal placement of all 9 GasPods across the full width of the rear spoiler and 2 inches from the trailing edge of the spoiler. But thanks for your comment bigalpha

Well after a full week my in town driving mpg has stayed at 43.3 over all types of terrain with a variance of +/- 1 to 2mpg and back to 43.3 by the end of my commute. Since school has resumed locally I'm driving totally within town over my usual route from school to school within the district, about 35 miles round trip with varying hills and flat roads. Driving with braking and acceleration in mind following the graph which is updating me every 5 minutes, I'm finding it easy to stay within my baseline which seems to be 43.4AvgMPG. I feel the software upgrade along with the GasPods is why my MPG has finally started to work in my favor. Thanks to Ford and Suzanne at AeroHance. Got down to 3 miles before empty before refueling. Total of 535+miles on the last tank with EV miles above 200, didn't take a picture sorry, you'll just have to take my word for it. Here is yesterdays post with 31 miles to empty :happy feet:

Wanted to share that I think I have finally got my fuel management under control. This past week I have been no lower than 43.2 and as high as 43.5 on the freeway. Strangely enough my freeway driving is giving me higher numbers. I credit this to my better driving and braking and my GasPods. I'm seeing a steady upswing of the last tank but stable numbers I feel are because of the GasPods.

I'm noticing a reoccurring scenario with my battery levels. I turn off the ignition in the garage with battery levels at least half charged or closer to full. Next morning come out, start Maxus and almost immediately ICE kicks in because the battery is below 3/4 to 1/8. I've always had this issue even before any of the software upgrades. Could this be a sign of a eventual dead battery like so many are and have experienced? Can't imagine what might be running through the night. I don't have any devices plugged in other than leaving my Apple iPhone cable plugged into the console cigarette plug, without the iPhone charging. :headscratch:

Exactly why I have my gopro installed on my Dash. When I can afford more I plan to put one on all sides -
I stand corrected...sorry

So So very sorry this happened, I have nightmares about it happening to my Maxus. If it makes you feel any better, repainting has come along way in recent years. I had a black S-10 pickup and I put a new hood on it with a built-in cowl induction hood scoop. The shop was able to match it perfectly, they use a hand scan electronic tool which took a reading of the paint on adjacent metal panels and were able to mix the paint so it blended perfectly. I know it will always haunt you that your baby was violated and is damaged goods now, but try to get past that. It will be as good as new in no time. -
Looks like a silver gathering? In my area that is the most popular color. I see more silver than any other color.

Drove down to Monterey today to attend some car races at Laguna Seca Raceway. Left home with AvMPG showing 41.5. Arrived at the track with AvMPG was 43.4. Drove 1 hour 25mins on complete freeway 69.9 miles one way with A/C and cruise control set to 65mph. Love driving this fast with EV mode. Driving through the coastal mountains from my home to the Pacific Coast where the track is located. Got to the track and the screen shot said 2.3 gallons used. Got home and the gas gauge read 1/2 full, not all of that first half was used on this trip. I drove over a hundred miles to and from work on Thursday and Friday. Very pleased with this latest mileage. Love those GasPods. Going to let my Brother-In -Law put the adhesive Gas Pods on his 2013 Fusion. He drives daily to San Francisco for work so it will be interesting to see how much he can improve

Beautiful burgundy color on your Max. Obviously the receiver hitch worked well for you in opening and closing the liftgate? We're you still able to open with the kick function?

GreenChicago, GasPods are a very cool product which can be placed on the rear spoiler of our hatchback. They are small aerodynamic "nodules" I like to call them which can be purchased with adhesive or magnetic mounting surface. I have a set of both, but I'm presently only using the magnetic ones. The magnetic ones have a built-in rare earth magnet which are strong enough to not blow off on the freeway, but easily removed with little resistance. Product comes with 9 nodules which you equally space across the full width of the rear spoiler. See the attached picture to see how I have them arranged. There is a post that I started in the modifications section back a month ago which will bring you up to speed. There are comments from the President (Suzanne) of the company who makes the GasPods, she was very helpful in my placing them in their present position which has shown the most significant improvement in my Average MPG. Hope this helps in your question? Search for GasPods and it will link you to all the posts regarding them

Stuff doesn't fall off my glove box shelf anymore! :)

Interesting, thinner and slightly longer than the CMax version or so it appears. Great job once again. Was wondering have you been keeping track of how many orders have been placed? Just curious. -
It was in mid July when I found the sweet spot for positioning the GasPods which is about mid way between those lowest two points on my chart before it started to go up. Initial installation of the Pods was earlier in June I believe. I actually repositioned them several times before settling in their current position with the help of Susanne.

We both answer to a higher authority who can only judge us while we are here.

Well your probably right in this state, I'm sure I will get busted eventually. I put tint mylar film on the windows of my Dodge Dakota pickup and got pulled over and received a fix-it. I'm a gambler so see if I can get away with it. I've seen others with tint on their tail lights locally. Nice thing is Plasti-Dip peals right off if you need to remove it.
-
oops sorry about that, I didn't realize that. As a christian man it is distrubing to say the least I took it down, can't have 66.6mpg
-
Here is my latest mod to Maxus, one can of smoke tint Plasti-Dip rubberized spray paint with Plasti-Dip Glossifier top coat for satin shine.

Here is my best trip summary today, definitely improvement for Maxus

looks like a picture of the euro CMax so maybe the looks will be different in the US? More like ours? Time will tell.

By all means Susanne feel free, since it is your product which is allowing me to improve my numbers along with the Ford software upgrade. Also if you want, feel free to use my name...Mike Bridges 2013 Ford CMax SEL Here is a chart from Fuelly.com showing my fuel consumption since buying Maxus on September 20, 2012
