  1. Congrats Chris!! I tried to add you to the OP but the editing function isn't working for me right now. May be because I'm at work :). I will add you later tonite unless Jus gets to it first. Way to go!!!
  2. Well, hell's bells!! That should have gotten you a loaner right off the bat!!!
  3. How did they explain the cracked intake manifold? :headscratch:
  4. Sometimes you guys just blow me away! You are so freakin' smart about all this stuff. I'm not being facetious...I'm just amazed....I mean, you understand all of this, and you talk about it like I talk about recipes, or raising birds, or gardening, and the best I can do with my car is fill up, check the oil, and drive. I am in awe.
  5. Well, I'm glad they were finally able to get you a car. That's ridiculous! And hopefully the 24th is the farthest out date, and they will make you a happy camper by getting your car back sooner!
  6. http://allrecipes.com/recipe/all-day-apple-butter/ I added 1/4 t of nutmeg and 1 cup apple cider. It was a super easy recipe and my house smelled divine all day!!! If you don't get to make any this year, PM me your address and I'll send you a jar. We're gonna make another batch.
  7. That's part of dinner tonite CassidyB!! And I'm from North Carolina!
  8. Probably non-GMO apples. Actually, we were considering chopping these down until this year. All they did was make a mess, too small to do anything with, buggy, ankle rollers. Speaking of *not commonly cultivated because not commercially viable.......* if you like tomatoes, read the book *Tomatoland* by Barry Estabrook. But not as casual reading, because it will make you angry!
  9. HAHAHA....My canning recipe book is so old, I don't think slow cookers had been invented yet! This is the first time I've made it, so I'll look online. What a great idea!!
  10. Oohhhh, never heard of those Laurel! Ours are an unknown variety of dwarf apples that have been here as long as we have......20 + years. They have always produces crappy little apples that were ankle twisters if you stepped on them, and too small and wormy to do anything with..............until this year! 2 large branches have broken from the weight of the apples. Jerry has picked many 5 gal. buckets of them and we have given many away. We were looking today and there are still hundreds on the 2 trees. We bought an apple peeler to help with the drudgery. But dang!!! that applesauce is good. And so are the cinnamon apples. This will be a first for apple butter, altho I remember eating it as a child. 7 qts of beans in the canner now, and I'm getting ready to slice some more.
  11. I won't be on very much tomorrow or for the next few days. I'll be *laboring* canning and freezing goodies from our garden....green beans, tomatoes, cucumbers, okra, apples, Making canned green beans, tomato sauce, 2 kinds of pickles, cinnamon apples, apple sauce, and apple butter. Hope all y'all have a great day!!
  12. OK, you guys are talking way above my head. What would be normal RPMs? Because sometimes I feel like my car is straining when climbing hills....and I never looked at the RPMs before the update to know what is *normal*. (Remember, this is a grandma who knew how to fill up the car, put it in drive, and go, and that's about it, before the CMAX.)
  13. We jus have to give each other a hard time.
  14. Yeah, but the fact that Ieven considered any of the other choices is crazy/scary.
  15. I caved. I filled up. I had 1appt for mom yesterday .and 3 today. Getting to 600 wasn't worth the hassle this time
  16. Yes, LizM, they were July, and I did cave and use them. I didn't want to be hassling with it before mom's appt. yesterday or her 2 appts. today. There's always the next tank. grggwlkr, this happened yesterday morning but I didn't post it until last night. Both times are right.. doG no! I never looked before. It was just too depressing in the Jeep. I filled up every 4-5 days, now it every 2 or more weeks!!! Now it's FUN to look!
  17. Here's the dilemma.....This morning my Trip 1 read 595 miles. My miles to empty read 37. :drop: It's 34 miles round trip to work/home BUT I have to take my mom to an appointment at 5:30, right after work, which means flying home, gathering up the mom and daughter, and driving back 2 miles to said appointment. My clock said 7:40 am, which meant that if I left right then, I would still be 10 minutes late to work. My Kroger fuel points expire in 3 days. Do I......forego the 600 mile tank in favor of (a) getting to work *close to* on time? (b) fill up to not lose the $.60 off per gallon at Kroger? :spend: © drive around for 5 miles, make it to 600, fill up, :flyaway:still be late to work.....yaddah, yaddah, yaddah? Whadda ya think? The fact that I was seriously weighing all these options means I seriously need an intervention.
  18. GED, I had the same problem from April until early August. Finally, a bunch of Ford Engineers came to my dealership, Briarwood Ford in Saline, MI, to see the problem first hand. They hooked up at least 2 computers to the car and downloaded a bunch of information for 2 hours, all the while it was in the *frozen* state. They recommended replacing the Audio Control Module (ACM). That was the first week in August. We had cool, wet days for weeks it seems, but finally some 80+ days, and (fingers crossed, knocking on wood), it seems to be working. There should be some information on record that would help your dealership get in touch with the right engineers and get you started toward a fix. Please let me know if I can provide any information that might help. Good luck!.
  19. Thanks Frank! I was wondering the same thing!
  20. Ignore him. Just ignore him! It only makes it worse when you laugh! :finger: :twister: :banghead:
