First Screen Freeze! Woohoo!!!!!
Adair replied to fishead924's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
I have had no issues (knock on wood) since the ACM was replaced earlier this month. And we've had a few 80+ degree days for it to bake in. Since there have been several of us now, and since some Ford engineers were called in to see mine in (non)action, there should be some history for your service department to draw from. I know how frustrating it is. I lived with it for 3.5 months. Hope you get some help from your dealership. -
Hi Jeff, I don't believe the 2014s are coming out until December, IIRC. I would research dealerships in the ABQ area. Here in MI there are websites that have 30-40 Ford dealers represented, so you can do a mass search for exactly what you want. I would imagine there is something similar for NM. But you'll be looking at 2013s if you need one right away. Good luck with your search, and welcome to the forum!

Would you buy the CMax if the advertised MPG was below 47/47?
Adair replied to Jus-A-CMax's topic in Lounge: Off-Topic
Hi 6Webbers, and welcome. There are a lot of us here who share your sentiments. I, too, would gladly testify in defense of the C-MAX. I am happy with my car and would buy it all over again, even with the altered EPA rating. It's STILL getting more than twice what my old car got, and with way newer technology. I love it. -
Hi Andy, and thanks for your information. Since hybrids are so impacted by climate, I think a seasonal filter would be helpful......and because *winter* means different things to different areas....... to be able to select the group of months you want to check......*winter* in Minnesota lasts longer and is harsher than winter in other areas. Just a thought.

We used the navigation this weekend on a short trip from Milan, MI to Flint for Asia's race. We drove up Friday night. I had already programmed the hotel address into the NAV, even though I knew where it was. Flint is not that large, the hotel was right off the highway and had been there for some time but the NAV couldn't find it. It told us to take the wrong highway, (we didn't), kept telling us to turn left instead of right (we didn't) and was still giving us instructions when we pulled up in front of the place. The map, however, showed us on the correct street. We left the hotel to go downtown to pick up her race packet and our finish line passes and just for grins I set the NAV for the hotel address again. If we'd had time, I would have just followed the directions to see where it took us, but we needed to get Asia back to rest before her race. The NAV wanted us to go North when we knew we needed to go south and still didn't recognize the final destination when we were there. So it's not just Highway 24 in Ohio that it doesn't like.

Yeah, gotta say I liked the old way better too. Part left justified, part centered makes it too hard for the eye to follow

OK, this is better. But it's not just the members names......on the New Content screen things are centered.

It wasn't like that earlier............and I can't change the font size...... It's a 10 now and I'm trying to set it to larger but nothing happens. We'll see what it looks like after it's sent.....

OK, I have to say I'm feeling better about the upgrade than I was 2 weeks ago when it was re-installed. :baby: I really felt like it was wrong again, but.........either the car is learning, I am learning or both. :dance:I had about 17 freeway miles on Tuesday @ 48mpg. It was crazy to see it flip into EV @ 70mph! :drop: 'Course it only lasted for about 20 seconds, but who cares? My current average on this tank is 48.8 with about 1/3 freeway and the rest my usual route to/from work over 35-50 mph roads with several stop signs/lights. Tomorrow we are taking a short road trip from A2 to Flint that will be all freeway. :shift: I'm anxious to see how the update works over a longer trip on freeways at 70 mph. Will report back late Saturday or Sunday. :sandman: Have a great weekend all!

Asb said: I feel as if the car has to get used to the update before we see any positive changes (though it is probably us that need to get used to it). Yes, I completely agree with you. I was going to post something later to the same effect. I know.....I know.....aliens again. But after 8 months with the car, I don't think I had THAT much to relearn.

Well, that's pretty awesome Mi C-MAX!! Today, I hit two milestone trips - 1) 9 miles - 56.7 MPG (the highest I'd seen since buying my C-max 8/13/13, then ... ) 2) 16 miles - 65.7 MPG - my jaw dropped when I saw the trip summary on that one! Tomorrow is going to be a long haul test - from Monroe MI to Cleveland OH and back along the OH Turnpike (about 300 miles roundtrip). I'm really curious how that will affect my avg MPG.
-
Sorry you're having to take it back John, but glad you are doing it. My update had to be done over too, but for different reasons. I had to do the merge thing last night and had no problem. Hopefully this will be a quick fix and you'll be back on the road soon.

OK kids, you're updated, upgraded, moved up the list! Rock on!

In my very low-tech observation, things seem to be getting better. At first I was very disappointed in the effects of the upgrade. It just seemed harder to get into EV, seemed like ICE was running ALL THE TIME, watched my MPGs fall over the first few days. It's been a little over a week now, and I don't know if it's me or the car learning, but it's seeming easier again to get into EV and my MPGs are holding steady at 47 + for 150 or so miles. Maybe if my MPGs had been lower going into the upgrade, I would have seen more improvement right away, but because they were high anyway, there was less to improve............does that make any sense? Anyway, just my $.02. Short road trip all freeway coming up this weekend. By then there will be 2 weeks of normal stuff on this tank. We'll see what the road trip brings.

Stunning!! Congratulations! You survived, and now all that waiting and worrying will become a memory, a part of your history with your new car. Enjoy!

$550 goodwill payment, relabeling of mpg, and changes coming for 2014
Adair replied to nemonik's topic in General Discussion
Hey there otbiker and MiC-Max, and welcome to the forum! Otbiker, the other guys loss is your gain! Congrats! MiC-Max.....good to see another member from SE Mich. If you see a Blue Candy on US 23, wave. (I sometimes feel like a stalker.....I wave madly at every C-MAX I see. The other drivers are either a) blind, b)distracted, or c) ignoring me. I choose NOT to believe C. You guys came to the right place to learn everything fit to print about your new C-MAX. There are some crazy smart folks on here.....not me, those other guys. Everyone is helpful and willing to get you off on the right foot. Scan thru the topics, use the search feature, and if you don't see your particular question answered...........then ASK! Enjoy the ride. -
I'm on my first tank with the complete upgrade and I feel like I'm having to learn to drive all over again.I did slip into EV @ 70mph on the highway yesterday.........for about 20 seconds. And I do see the blue threshold bars on the highway over 62mph now, But the around town, back and forth to work daily stuff is different. Tank average with 150 miles on it is 46. something, but it seems to be more of a struggle to keep it there. I definitely liked the *partial update* that I had at first. But, there's the whole (bad word alert) winter thing coming up, and the upgrade may help us in the North more then. I'm not as savvy with the technical terms as you guys, but, all in all, I'm not seeing what I thought I would so far from this upgrade.
-
Well, that's wonderful news!!! I'm happy for you and the smart lady!
-
Not only does it get you in, it puts you at the top 'o' the heap FrBill!!!! Way to show up the rest of us :woot: J/K!!!
-
I'll be hitting the freeway in about 45 minutes for the first time since I got the upgrade. Jury is still out.

WOW! Great report and fantastic pictures!! Thanks for sharing!
