  1. I have the SEL 303a package since November, and the car comes from the factory with daytime running lights. No problems with the battery so far (knocking on wood). Forgot to say we are in Vancouver, B.C.
  2. We're home from the holiday to the Mayan Riviera. Had a great time, but the humidity was beyond anything we have ever experienced. Beaches were beautiful and we snorkeled with the giant turtles. Nice to be back home. Tip started up just fine and she is still her reliable self. Still waiting for Spring here--temps do get up to about 10C during the day, but right now we have torrential rain--ugh! How did the visit to Irvine go for those who attended? I can't find a thread on it. Rachel it sounds like you and Rainette are bonding LOL. I saw your question about re-setting the gas thingy, but I don't know the answer--sorry.
  3. No break in time for us. They have been comfortable from day one. We have the SEL. I haven't noticed any change in the 3 months that we have had the car.
  4. Nick we are flying out on Westjet. I just tucked Tip in--she is hunkered over to one side of the garage to give the house/dog sitter lots of space as I don't want any scratches. We'll wave as we pass over Seattle. Hubby doesn't like to fly with me as I am hypervigilant (he is a retired Air Canada pilot). Our last little jaunt, I told him the engine of the plane sounded "off". He told me to settle down and knock it off. Maybe one minute after his comment the captain came on and said, "ladies and gentlemen we are returning to Vancouver to check on a little problem". I gave him a giant poke in the ribs LOL. He said he did wonder why the aircraft was making a turn right then. I am one of those passengers who always has a flight go unserviceable while I'm on board. I'm not sure if I have ever flown when something hasn't gone wonky. Fingers crossed this time for a routine flight as it is such a pain to turn around and be delayed for hours. I need sunshine!
  5. It took forever with us--maybe 2 hours or so. I bought the extended service policy because I was in a zombie like state after listening to them for 2 hours. Knowing Rachel she'll be out driving until midnight. We're off to the Mayan Riviera at 6 AM tomorrow so I'm going to miss all of Rachel's adventures. I am taking no technology with me--going off the grid and I will be snorkeling with the giant turtles. See you all when we get home.
  6. SEL 303 A built November 8th with 2200 kilometers. Knocking on wood no battery or other problems.
  7. I don't see that as a problem i.e.one kick if unlocked and two if locked. Don't know why they need a fix.
  8. One of the big reasons I gravitated to the C-Max was because of the seat height and not whacking my head getting in and out of it. My elderly neighbours love riding with me because of the ease of getting in and out and the higher seats. You can't find a car out there that compares with the great seat height and head clearance--I shopped and shopped until I came to the C-Max.
  9. I look often at the Canadian C-Max inventory and there seem to be many with a September 11 build date.
  10. You are a girlie girl and I vote for a girlie name for your car. Maybe something with a french origin related to your dad's music?
  11. Hope you can sleep! Any names for the twins yet or do you need to meet them first?
  12. They sure aren't cranking them out in this part of Canada. Ours is the only one in the wild that we have seen.
  13. We have both and they are a great invention. Glad we got them. The big thing I miss is automatic retractable mirrors. Garages now days are too small and we squeeze Tip in beside a big honking Lexus SUV (maybe soon to be sold as hubby is real happy with Tip and may order an Energi down the road).
  14. When Tip was off the train, she was at dealer's by the next day! It seems to happen fast once they get off the train, but I guess that depends how far they have to be carried on the truck to the dealership. I think Tip had less than 50 or 60 kilometers to go to reach the dealer.
  15. I think that happened when we did it and I just told hubby to push the down arrow and voila the info appeared.
  16. I have lots of things that I really like about the package! The hands free opening hatch is super--one kick if the car is unlocked, two kicks if locked. I like the airy panorama roof as it makes the car seem very bright and spacious. I like the back up camera with the lines that angle with the car as it backs up. And I like the feature that I can't remember the name of where the car has sensors front and back that indicate when you're too close to something. I like the the park assist, but it is freaky and scary the first time you use it. There is a post on this forum when the member didn't know to keep his foot on the brake the first time he used it and he whammed the guy behind him and got considerable damage. So keep your foot on that brake! I love the power of the car when you are needing it like merging on the freeway. I scared myself the first time I put my pedal to the metal--I nearly went into orbit! I am one of the few here that love the MFT and navigation as we have had no problems with it. My recommendations are learning the MFT lingo and primarily use voice commands as they work very well. I did type out a list of commands that we made a cheat sheet of and it helps. And just go slow with commands as I think the system gets buggered if you don't let the system time to process commands. Make sure you ALWAYS wait for the ready to drive command as it is easy to think you have turned the car on and you haven't and are in accessory mode--we had a couple of rolling back incidents doing that and you don't have power or power steering so it is disconcerting. I love everything about our car! I have never had a car I have enjoyed as much as our C-Max. Our mileage varies all over the map due to winter weather. But we have achieved the 4.0 L per 100 kilometers on the window sticker a few times. We are happy enough with our mileage as I didn't expect to always get the optimal mileage. Forgot to say the seats are comfortable too!
  17. Mikeycats congratulations - the white platinum looks very classy. We have the SEL 303a and we love it. We got ours at the end of November.
  18. Cgul thanks for the info. We were outside trying it out a few minutes ago. Nifty! Glad to read your last tip about pressing and holding to exit as we were turning the car off.
  19. Rachel I think we were set up LOL. :hysterical:
  20. Funny one Valkraider. I'll to remember to do that if I get worried without my panic button.
  21. It happens with us too. I just thought it was a MFT weakness. It doesn't really bother me as I constantly fiddle with the car temperature as I get hot too easily and I am always turning it down. I last maybe two minutes with the seat heater on as I like things cool. Hubby cranks his side up--temp and seat. But we both comment that the settings are lost each trip.
  22. We are not as heavily populated where I live so I think heads would turn. Hey we even got the fire truck coming into our townhouse complex due to a smoke detector shrieking (fire hall is across the street).
  23. :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet: JPD this is my attempt at high lighting your post so we don't miss it if we need to go back and look for it to tell our service managers what your fix was.
