Our gas price has been pretty stable at about $1.35 per liter and that includes 35 cents tax per liter which includes 7 cents carbon tax. We are taxed very heavily in Canada, but we have many pluses with that. My opinion does not necessarily reflect the opinion of other Canadians, but I feel blessed to live here.

Capless tank, any possible problems with topping off?
Laurel replied to Jus-A-CMax's topic in Lounge: Off-Topic
No trouble with filling my gas tank as my husband always does it, and he is Mr. Meticulous (retired pilot who always follows the rules) and goes slowly and never has spilled a drop of gas in his life. Now me I have had to go inside the gas station asking for help to get something to absorb my spillage so the gas station doesn't go up in flames.LOL I have the tendency to day dream and getting fuel is one of my least favourite things. -
Well Rachel you know that my C-Max is called TIP short for The Ice Princess as she is Ice Storm in colour. TIP suits here--calm cool and collected. I wish we could change the MFT voice as I would like Elvis' voice talking to me.LOL

Just ordered the Weathertech digital front mats. They are sure expensive here in Canada. I think mine were $267!

Jonathan this list is getting long! Sorry that it has happened to you too. Do you have a SE or SEL?

Zhack that is good info. She is a bit chatty, but I am not quite ready for advanced interactions as I am still pig calling LOL. -

I tried "find a mall" today. One little glitch. The voice asked for what city and it has a hellish time recognizing Surrey (where I was driving). I have to spell it for her and that is a royal pain. I found in the end if I pronounced Surrey a bit like calling a pig when you say "soo ee" with a real eee on the end, it did recognize it. I sort of have to sing song the word. Maybe with the upgrade that will improve. -

We don't really have Travel Link here--although we can pick it up sometimes from Bellingham, Washington. Every time I say weather map, she thinks I am saying "where am I". Just getting ready to head out and will be trying "find a mall". -
My experience is exactly the same as yours General. Love it still and no problems yet (knocking on wood). I do wonder if some of the earlier produced cars are the ones with the bugs? Ours was built Nov.8th if I recall. I know our dealer had a couple of August built C-Maxs and I wonder how they did compared to the later builds. I haven't talked with anyone at our dealership since buying so don't have any gossip.

Now that would be cool Rachel.

Ron I will try that one tomorrow LOL.

I like "find a mall" --going to have to try that one tomorrow. -
Okay I will agree that I am thick as a brick LOL. Got any favourite MFT commands? Maybe "where am I?" fits the thread.
-
I don't understand what the above means?? What does altruistic intent have to do with "your" versus the correct "you're"?? I must be thick as a plank as I don't get it.

Ron that is a good one. There are a zillion USB commands too, but I never use them. If someone wants them, just let me know and I will write some out. -

Thanks Adair. Let's hope others chip in their favourites too. The only frustration that we have run into is one city name which is Surrey. Cannot get MFT to recognize it no matter how we try pronouncing it so we have to spell it which is a pain. One thing that is handy too is when the voice starts to babble about this that or the other when you have screwed up, just push the voice paddle again and cut her off and try again. I hate listening to her babble on if I screw up. -

Well that stinks! I guess you will have to pay a deductible? That's what we have to do in Canada.

I've had my SEL since the end of November and knock on wood it has been smooth sailing with no problems. I had my first reboot yesterday and it caught me off guard. When I backed out of a space at a shopping mall, my screen was black, no camera, no music, no climate. I thought "oh dear, what is happening?" Then it started rebooting. That took maybe two minutes maximum and then all was back to normal. Have I said before that I just love MFT! Our navigation is great, and we are learning all the right phrases like "min air" etc. Just love everything about my car!!

Our animals have always been like family too. Very difficult saying goodbye to them. I'm sorry about your loss of Tiger 1. My elderly neighbour has a big yellow tabby named Tiger who walks on his leash daily. He is fascinated by my dog Tinker so that keep one another on their toes--sniffing, hissing and swatting and tail wagging.

You two look like a happy fit. Thanks for posting the photo. My husband was in the Canadian military when I met him. Back then he flew C 130's, but retired from Air Canada a few years ago having flown the airbus A320. Our military life was a good one.

Jus-A-CMax your two Toygers are amazingly lovely! I will cat sit any time if you bring them up to BC. I read about Toygers on line and it is an interesting history of getting them to look so tiger like. We have only had one cat who came with the farm when we bought it about 15 years ago. Katie was calico and a good girl. When we sold the farm a year and half ago we brought her to the townhouse with us. I worried about her adjusting from country living, but sadly she got cancer and only lived for about two months here. Must have been fate stepping in as she had the perfect cat's life on the farm--hunting mice, purring and rubbing against her favourite horses. She lived in the barn until her last two years of life and then moved herself to the house as she aged. Smart little gal.

I'd love to see a picture of your Toygers. Small animal vets do charge the earth. We used to have a small farm and had six horses. Our horse vet would make a barn call give all six horses vaccinations and float their teeth and be at the barn for an hour and half and the bill would be under $300. Prior to finding Auntie Jenn, I would take Tink in because her appetite was off and she seemed lethargic and the bill would be $300 by the time they did blood work and other tests in a 30 minute visit. Auntie Jenn lays off on all the pricey tests until she is proven wrong with her first hunch. She is the type if she hears hoof beats she looks for a horse and not a zebra. We are lucky to have her.

So it worked before they put the new module in? Welcome!
