  1. Our deposit was $1000, but they didn't cash it until we paid for the car.
  2. PW let us know how it goes tomorrow. Congrats! I forget what colour you ordered?
  3. PWBarrett I don't think the prep takes very long. I think our C-Max was delivered to the dealer on a Wednesday and they said we could pick it up Thursday evening. I would think it depends on how busy their service department is--ours seemed very quiet when we went in.
  4. We have the SEL in Ice Storm and stone interior too. Being perfectly honest, the Ice Storm looks very drab on the rainy grey days in the Pacific Northwest. It looks spectacular in the sunshine though. I think if I realized how the rainy grey skies affect the colour I would have ordered a different colour as we have several months of this monsoon climate. The white and steel grey C-Max's have more pop in this climate. Just something to keep in mind for new buyers. Down south it would be perfect. Edit: Ice Storm is a chameleon colour and it will reflect whatever light is in the atmosphere--within the realms of palest blue and palest soft green. I still recommend it as it is a soft interesting colour, but if you live in low light conditions like we have in Vancouver, BC area the colour does look drab grey much of the time.
  5. From my reading on the Blue Oval, all cars are quality checked before release and if something is not quite right they put it on hold to fix the glitch. Not uncommon, and likely indicates good quality control.
  6. Driving with the utmost concentration and attention to smooth consistent take offs, maintaining consistent speed, and not speeding. It is totally possible, but perhaps Ford needs to advertise that it takes conservative driving? I have to say my husband gets a bit irked that the C-Max has to be driven conservatively/hybridly(new word) to get advertised mileage. I find it fun and a challenge--maybe I won't when the novelty wears off.
  7. I think it is called Home Link. The center button should have a little house symbol if it is Home Link which is for garage door and housing complexes with gates. Very handy dandy!
  8. February that would be one long wait! What is pulling tickets? I must of missed that part when we ordered. I just saw two C-Max's at another dealer's lot this evening. I was shocked as there are only half a dozen for sale in the Lower Mainland where we live. Fingers are crossed that February is fiction.
  9. It is starting to seem that there is a concerted smear campaign happening against the C-Max. I just read an article from the National Post with the author saying the best he could achieve was 7.5 L per 100 kilometers. This is such BS! I think a person can guess who is behind the smearing. Edit: That is 31 mpg which is nonsense!
  10. Well indeed Tip is special, but I have to confess after I wrote about one kick I went out for a drive came back and had to kick twice LOL. But I swear that I was kicking once before --you all are hexing Tip. I hate to think I am experiencing early dementia.
  11. Go ahead and bug them. It only takes them entering something in the computer. Ask for the rail car number once it is on the train, and then you can track it yourself without bugging anyone. I did that and it was fun to do. I pestered my guy until he gave me the rail car number.
  12. Valkraider I am waiting for you to report in too. Exciting!
  13. Scooter how did your visit to the dealership go? Fingers crossed that it was a pleasant exchange.
  14. No problems--touch the black pad to lock and inside the door handle to unlock. I usually take my dog with me and tend to use the fob to lock as I feel assured to double click and hear the horn toot--I'm paranoid that she will stolen if I forget to lock it. I'm bad about touching the door handle after I lock it to check and of course it promptly unlocks when touched. But my husband never uses the fob and has not had any troubles.
  15. Well that stinks Scooter. Good luck with the dealer.
  16. Are you trying to make me feel old? LOL On the plus side of things, I actually lived through the Woodstock era and nothing else could compare with those times. Wearing tie dyed clothes, smoking dope while listening to Leonard Cohen, protesting the Vietnam War--those were the days --we felt so wicked yet were so naive and innocent.
  17. I will be making Christmas candy, still doing a little shopping (might buy some end of the world supplies just in case--I did that prior to the Y2K scare). Our wedding anniversary is Dec.19th, met my husband in Red Deer, Alberta, he was in the military flying air cadets then, and I was on bus load of student nurses recruited to attend a dance at the officer's mess, we decided to get married two weeks after we met--he was 21 and I was 19. That was in 1968 and here we are 44 years later driving our C-Max trying to compete over who gets the best mileage. Merry Christmas everyone and God Bless us all.
  18. Only if the world ends on December 21st as predicted by the Mayan calendar. That would mean I only had a month of driving my new C-Max.
  19. I don't understand what topping off til it hits a quarter means?
  20. Yes, I drive differently i.e. much more aware of staying in EV and how to do it. I find it challenging and rewarding. Hubby drives a Lexus SUV and drives my C-Max same as he drives his SUV and always uses cruise control. My excellent mileage is ruined by him, but my lips are zipped to him. Don't want to start a war so I will vent here <g>.
  21. Only one kick needed locked and unlocked for our SEL. The sound is a click and quiet hum as it goes up and down. I stand right in the middle of the bumper about 18" back and give a kick.
  22. Maybe check your window sticker on line to see if that is the actual build date. We didn't get much info. from our salesperson voluntarily--I had to bug him a bit. Finally I got him to print and send to me the visibility report and when I got that I could find out what rail car our C-Max was on, and then I tracked her on CSX system. So basically I knew pretty closely where the car was. Ours was built Nov.8th and was at the dealers on Nov.28th.
  23. Hi Ryan. It's nice to finally see another Canadian here! I see that you are waiting for an Energi--that will be exciting. I had fun tracking mine on the train after I got the rail car number. I was quite surprised how quickly things went in the end i.e. ordered about Oct.5th and had it about 10 days ago. Pretty painless. I have yet to see any C-Max's around yet --we live in White Rock. Re: the window stickers--it makes sense that they expect a different EPA mileage, but I have to believe there is a big error at 4.0 L per 100 kilometers/70 mpg imperial. Just seems off base. I have not gotten any response yet. I have visions of a bunch of people running around at Ford Canada saying "Did we put that on the window sticker? Eek!"
  24. We are wondering about Scooter who lives in Texas. He hasn't checked in since his C-Max arrived.
  25. When I try to enter the site since last night, google is trying to block my entry saying this forum is an attack site. Google shows this record of attacks that occurred Dec.11, 2012. http://www.google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?site=http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/index.php%3Fapp%3Dcontactus&hl=en Anyone else having this issue?
