  1. Aha! I'll give it a try.
  2. I've noticed lower mileage numbers the last few weeks. I'm still trying to figure out why.
  3. I don't have the window sticker from my car. How else can I determine the manufacture date?
  4. I do have a smart phone and while I was spending a whole lot of time in rentals, I used it to navigate. However, it took forever to get set up. I would often find my location before the phone could hook up to a satellite.
  5. I think this is a great idea, and I thought of it for myself as well. But I don't have an iPhone and my phone does not function as well as an iPhone. I tried all this out with rentals before buying. If I were able to afford a phone that functioned this well, I certainly wouldn't buy a car that duplicated all the services.
  6. 1. Model -Hybrid SE 2. Lifetime Total Miles Driven - 3299.8 3. Lifetime EV miles driven - 1042.4 4. Percentage drive EV to total 5. Lifetime Regen miles - 189.6 6. Lifetime mpg - 40.9 7. Lifetime brake score - 93%
  7. Oh, I did put a small first aide kit in the glove compartment.
  8. At first I was going to put stuff in the under-the-floor compartments. But the reality is that they aren't that convenient to get in and out of. The tub works better for me. I even put a small fire extinguisher in it. And, if I need more cargo space for one trip, it can just come out and the stuff inside it can then go under the floor.
  9. I honestly broke down and bought a clear plastic tub to toss everything into and it lives in the cargo area. I've got all sorts of stuff in there. Oh, just so you all know, you can go to Lowe's Garden Center and take plastic to line the back of your car with. The last time I bought plants, I grabbed a bunch of plastic and it's now in the some of the netting in the cargo area.
  10. I've recently been looking inside a few other cars such as the new Fiat and the Honda Fit. I can't imagine sitting in one of those and being comfortable. Talk about a tight fit! I have gotten 50 mpg in my Cmax, but I find that my normal range is 43 - 48. I just started entering info into Fuelly. For a zippy car with lots of power and comfort, and rather decent gas mileage considering the size, I love this car and would buy another one. My only regret is that I couldn't get all the features I wanted due to not wanting leather seats. I gave up a lot because of that.
  11. The part is in at my dealership. I'll take it in next week.
  12. I would love to add some battery power when needed. I'm disappointed in my EV miles; however, I find many of the tricks to getting more EV miles exhausting. All my pain and injuries are in my right lower back and hip, so trying to control my foot - lightly - is difficult.
  13. Mine has come and gone on its own. The part finally arrived, so as soon as I can get it in.
  14. I would like the bottom seat pivot. That would be helpful. But I never use lumbar support because it pushes against my ribs and causes a lot of pain. What I mostly don't like about the electric seat is that you can't put your non-driving foot under the seat. I am constantly fidgeting and changing position, and I like to be able to move that foot around more. When driving a car with the electric seat, I always feel a bit stifled with my limited foot movement.
  15. Many of us try to keep our footprints small. There are no options for public transportation where I live. So these are the decisions I have to make.
  16. Thanks for the review! I'm glad you were able to rent one before buying. I did a one hour test drive before deciding. I'm interested in hearing about the seat comfort between the manual and electric. When I was in rentals, I found the electric seats to be harder. My biggest problem with the car is how high the brake pedal is. I have hip problems, and having to lift my foot in order to get to the brake is an issue. But it's a small one compared to all the bonuses of the car. I do wish I had the option for a rear-view camera in the SE. I would love to have one, but alas, I didn't want leather seats.
  17. For the Lemon Law, you first need to take a look at what your particular state allows as it can differ from state to state. You can this information by googling. However, I suggest you talk to the service manager at your dealership first. Or, the manager of the dealership. Ask about a buy back or refund or trade for another C-Max.
  18. This is all true. Except for those of us in warm climates. I used to hit 50 mpgs on the way home from work due to being in traffic most of the way. The minute the EV+ started showing up on my screen, I stopped getting that mileage. It could be coincidental, but I'm not sure. So now I get 45 mpgs on the way home instead of 50. And on the way to work, it does vary because it is cold, so I'm not counting the mileage variance for that. I've had EV+ turned ON the entire time I've had the car. But the day the car finally learned my route and showed me EV+ on the screen - the mileage dropped - on the way home - with the temps in the 70s.
  19. I don't run the heater much. But once in awhile, the car is cold. I'll try to keep a better eye on it.
  20. The Touch system has a lot of quirks, and there is a huge learning curve with it. I like it, and I hate it. I miss having buttons to push. I think the bottom line for me is how much can you pay? I love the CMax, but my father bought the car for me. If I paid for it myself, I would have to get the base model, and I'm sure I would still love it. My biggest reason for getting the Touch was to have navigation. I do a lot of driving to new locations for work, and I gave my Garmin to my Dad. Being practical, I first said no to Navigation because I can use my phone through the blue tooth for that. However, when I actually did have to use my phone with rental cars, I discovered that it is nearly impossible to set up while driving and can take five minutes to get the satellite. The car Nav is a lot easier! The only true negative I see to having the Touch is that I can only get the rear camera with the SEL, and I didn't want leather seats. Bottom line, I have a love/hate relationship with MFT. But all the things I actually use it for, I can do without needing the Touch system. So, I would classify it as a Nice-to-Have and not a necessity. Just know that there are lots of problems with sync. It's not user-friendly until you conform to how it wants you to use it. And I think that MFT causes you to take your eyes off the road more than I ever did with a 'regular' car. But I love how the C-Max handles. It's truly a great car to drive. And it's fun whether you have the base model or the fully loaded model.
  21. I've had EV+ turned on the entire time I had the car. But the car didn't start utilizing EV+ until this week - which coincided with a decrease in mileage. I may just turn the feature off and see what happens. For instance, it took me an hour to get home today - bumper to bumper traffic. I had been getting 50 mpg on the way home from work. But today (and the last few days) I only got 42.
  22. I've noticed a marked decrease in my mpg which seemed to coincide with EV+ showing up for home and work this week. Now my car always runs the ICE while driving the first mile or two upon start-up in the morning. It might be time to shut the EV+ off....
  23. I was put in an SEL Escape rental car. I found the leather seats horrible. They were a lot harder than the cloth seats. Plus, they were cold, so I had to turn the seat warmers on - I live in Florida.
  24. I'm with you! I'm vegetarian and really had to weigh this one out. Because I have messed up hips, the power seat would be spectacular for me because I constantly need to change the seat height and distance from pedal. Plus, I really wanted the rear camera. But I will NOT sit on leather seats. As for the steering wheel, my thought process was - in the end, what will help me 'save the planet' more? Hybrid with leather steering wheel or no hybrid? I opted for hybrid and I deal with the steering wheel and lack of extras that I wanted. I do my best to keep my footprint small. I am sad that I had no other non-leather options. But, so happy to have a hybrid.
