  1. Went from 18mpg highway to 23 with the filter change. Use the truck for the farm and it's pulls horse trailers from state to state. After 300,000 miles it only averages 21 mpg highway now(350cid engine Standard Trans). Had a 1992 cavalier until it got Tboned by someone getting chased by the police. It had 327,000 miles on it with a K@N filter. It got 35mpg it's whole life.(2 liter I4 standard trans) Ran like a champ.
  2. I put a hi flow filter in my truck 15 years ago.(still have the same one in there) I got a 5 mpg boost and has 300,000 miles on it now with no problems. Saves gas and only have to buy one over the life of the vehicle. What more could you ask for?
  3. My adminstrator at work has a Prius and jokes that he's getting 55mpg now compared to my mid 40's. Told him give me time to break mine in and I'll give him a run for his money.
  4. Just thought of something. K&N filters use oil to filter air. Don't use them. The oil gunks up your Mass Air Flow Sensor. Use a reusable hi flow filter without oil.
  5. The ICE is one big air pump. Anything that helps it breathe easier improves power and mileage. The air intakes on cars now days are so restictive I'm surprised they run at all.
  6. They say 60's by the weekend here in Ohio. I'll beleive it when I see it.

All this cold weather I wish we still lived in Grapevine. I miss Texas (born and raised)
  8. I drove the same route that I got 47.2 mpg at 55 degrees again yesterday. Temp was only 45 degrees and managed 44.1 this time. Ten dregrees difference lost me 3 mpg's  I get a hybrid and Winter just won't go away.

  10. Way to go !!!! Just got a little over 500 miles on my 2nd tank. Hope to do better when the temps warm up. Don't you just love the C MAx :wub2: I drove my old Ponitac Grand Prix on Easter Sunday. It was so weird driving it after driving my new baby. It was like sitting on the ground with my knees in my chest with my head rubbing the roof. Don't miss that car at all.
  11. There are a bunch of a*&%$^# drivers around Columbus to. I just pay them no mind and do my thing. There are 3 lanes go around me dumb%*$%#. I work in a print shop. The copier tech was dumping the waste toner out of a machine into a plastic bag to take with him. He told me once he had someone blowing and flashing lights at him on the freeway so he released (what he called) a toner bomb on them. If you don't know once that stuff gets on something and gets warm or wet it doesn't come off. That had to be a mess for that idiot driver to try to get off.
  12. Congrats!!!! You made the right choice. I love mine and have already reached the magic 47 mpg with 700 miles on the odometer in cold Ohio.
  13. Ohio is a two plate state. Dealer installed the front bracket when my baby came in. You should have now problem getting one from the dealer
  14. I'm interested in shirts. Sounds like fun. Count me in
  15. Congrats!!!! :happy feet: The tech is a little overwhelming but this forum is the perfect place to learn and ask questions. Enjoy your new baby
  16. I drive 35 miles on interstate at 65 going to work. I'm getting 43 every day now
  17. I got 47.2 today had 14 EV miles in the 50's. Just wait until the warm weather gets here.
  18. Just learn to brake slowly and regen use the ICE to get up to speed and let off the gas. Then lightly reapply the pedal and cruise in EV. Going down hills take your foot off the gas and let it go into EV and do the same. I'm still learning but this is what I did to get the big number.
  19. Never had the alarm go off. Just slow at unlocking the doors.
  20. I HEARD THAT!!! tmizerek. They can have Microcrap. :rant2: I prefer Apple all the way
  21. It warmed up to the mid 50's today. Drove 28.4 miles 14 freeway miles at 65 and 14 on streets and back roads. Got 47.2 mpg for the trip  Take that Consumer Reports. Only 747 miles on the odometer. Not even broke in yet.
  22. I've noticed that happen with mine. I grab the handle and nothing. I do it a couple of times and then it works. I don't want to take mine in yet. I'll wait until it stops completely or something else needs work and then I'll have them fix it at the same time. Remote still works and unlocks the doors.
  23. Wow!!! That's Great. I'm getting 43.8 so far. Still breaking in though so expect to get better as I go and as temps go up. I'll get up there with you guys
  24. I'll keep my eyes open for those signs.
