  1. DANG dude! I hope you're OK. (?) Another rear ender, what's the deal with all of those? Did your custom lower air dam survive?
  2. This thread is similar: http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/2475-what-did-you-do-to-your-cmax-today/
  3. On my first attempt, I ran out at 12.6 gallons because I was using the pump's auto-shut off feature.
  4. Welcome to the forum! :love_shower: Yes the discrepancy is a known issue but yours sounds little on the high side. I would try to get gas at the same pump a few times to get a better grasp on the situation. Folks with GPS's report the odo records lower than the actual miles so the discrepancy isn't as much as you'd think. Differences aside, it sounds like you are doing well for the nasty conditions and probably will be netting 50+mpg in the warmer months; especially after the engine (ICE) gets broken in. It's the overall yearly avg. that truly matters.
  5. Welcome to the 800 club! :happy feet:
  6. Way to go SDM! Welcome to the 800 club.
  7. Changed the oil at 20K miles. Previous was 9800 before a summer trip. Indicator hasn't come on but it was too nice of a day to pass up the opportunity to give her some love.
  8. I put my plug kit in the back hatch storage compartment above the 12v battery along with the scissor jack and tools to remove the wheel. If the hole is on the inner side of the back tire, you'll most likely need to remove the tire to really get at it. I have the jumper cables in the drivers side floor compartment. I haven't seen any damage reports here but in the Prius world getting the polarities wrong during a jump results in a lot of expensive damage as it fries some electronics. BE CAREFUL! Finding the negative post in the dark for the first time would be difficult. Beforehand and in the daylight, get out the owners manual and review the process with any and all other drivers of the car.
  9. Also, the fuel system is pressurized in the NRG.
  10. Shut your windows and close your doors: You're letting all the COLD AIR OUT! :rtfm: Sheesh.
  11. http://gigaom.com/2014/01/03/ford-is-upgrading-3-4m-older-vehicles-to-run-connected-car-apps/ "Ford, however, said on Friday that it plans to boost that number considerably in coming months by retroactively installing AppLink in as many as 3.4 million Sync-enabled vehicles already on the road today. Ford hasn’t yet revealed any details about which vehicle models will be eligible for the upgrade or when they would receive it. It appears that process will involve a simple software download, though its unclear whether customers can install the software themselves or must go to the dealer. We’re likely to hear more at CES next week."
  12. The difference in fuel costs between a 50mpg and 43mpg car over a year (15k miles) is a whopping $200. With the final 2013's heavily discounted along with rebates and more favorable factory financing, there's no way you'd ever make up the difference.
  13. Would I buy another? Yes. And I did! I like to say "we had twins". :drop: :wub2:
  14. Very simple math: 52+38=90/2=45mpg yearly avg. :victory: I'd suggest trying the pipe insulation in the grill slots on the really cold days. Prius owners have done this for years and swear by the results.
  15. Spit ballin' here: do you have the auto-volume on in the sounds menu? If so, on what number?
  16. Try this: next time the voice guidance is speaking, turn down the volume knob (or the steering wheel switch). You can use the same method for the MFT touch voice.
  17. Thanks folks! :flirt: Here's another angle. Ruby red really pops in the late light.
  18. This evening the planets aligned for a nice photo of our new C-Max Energi. :camera: I think I'm going to format it to put it on the center screen which currently has the plain jane Ford logo.
  19. LOL, yeah I guess I haven't ever turned it on. When I got it tinted in May, the installer said to not use the rear defroster for 30 days. I assured him that would NOT be a problem in south Texas. :) Hey, we actually had frost this morning and a temp of 31f but the CMax'es are garaged so we still didn't need them. I do use the front to de-fog when the interior humidity gets too high.
  20. Oh I know it works. My daughter has spent many a sunny afternoon in the cool comfort of the CMax, and previously our Prius, while we watched her brothers soccer games (approx. 2 hrs). She lowers the rear seats, stretches out and reads. This is at a small athletic facility where we can park literally a few yards away from the field. I must admit I've spent some time there too during pre-game practices and halftimes!
  21. Yes, this is what I think. If you set it to 60 or above, then it will try to maintain that set temp with whatever means possible. And of course, make sure re-circ is off. This became more important to me when I got the NRG as HVAC settings can really alter the available battery range.
  22. There is a delay feature in the settings menu that keeps the camera on longer after you have moved out of Reverse gear. :detective: Maybe you unknowingly made that selection and are just now noticing it or the camera just did it on its own for some reason (cough, aliens, cough). I really like this setting when I have the cargo carrier installed on the trailer hitch so I can monitor the load as I take accelerate away in D. :shift:
  23. I've never consider how that could be a problem. Hmmm, I wonder if they'll ever make camera warmers? LOL So how well do the mirror warmers work for SEL owners? How do they even come on? (stupid southerner ponderings)
  24. Hello Ashley and welcome! :happy feet: I had a "personal advisor" when I owned a Volt that help with service issues and served as a liaison between the customer, the dealer, and the manufacturer. Any idea if this type of service will come in the future? Will you be making announcements about updates, recalls, etc?
  25. Paul (ptjones) on this forum makes and sells grill covers. http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/970-cmax-grill-cover-testing-2-5-mpg-gain/
