Driving at dawn this morning in completely overcast skies thus no shadows or light/dark transitions, I "saw" one flash out of my peripheral vision. So I'm not sure this is strictly a light-hitting-a-sensor issue. I'm now leaning toward the possibility of a glitchy refresh on the MFT screen. I don't recall the main gauges/screens doing this.

I notice it most on my morning commute and I usually think "oh it's the auto lights turning off" but they are still on. I "see" this out of the corner of my eye and have always chalked it up to a screen refresh. Glad to know I'm not the only one seeing things!

CONGRATS! :happy feet: Jumping from a 1996 to a 2013 has got to be quite an eye opener for sure. If you have any questions, ask away.

CONGRATS! The good news is they will get easier to achieve with the coming warmer spring weather. I'd say a 700 miler is easily within your grasp! :worship:

Installed some cheeeeep DRL's from Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GO7TESW/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 My local radio shack didn't have the correct relay so they aren't fully functional till next weekend. I wired them direct just to observe them. Very bright but reliability and longevity remain to be seen (pun intended).

Quick run to the recycle center to drop off a lot of cardboard boxes; a good portion from the washer/dryer set seen in post #26. -
Any maintenance for C-MAX transmission?
fotomoto replied to webcontrol's topic in General Discussion
The last transmission fluid I changed that only had a check level hole like the CMax I used a long piece of tubing and held it in the hole while a second person used a small funnel to empty the bottles down the tubing. Added fluid until it ran out the hole. The car must be level so I parked it pointed down the slope of my driveway before putting it on ramps. -
There's more info here: http://fordcmaxenergiforum.com but it's also in the OM (page 189): Fuel Freshness Mode (Energi Vehicles Only) Fuel freshness mode keeps the fuel system functional and the fuel fresh. Old fuel can damage the engine and fuel system. If operated continuously in EV Now mode, fuel freshness mode will use up to a half tank of fuel every 9 months. Fuel freshness mode will operate the vehicle in hybrid mode to consume the fuel. During fuel freshness mode EV Now mode will not be available. Fuel freshness mode will provide messages in the information displays screen to indicate that it is functioning. Fuel freshness mode will run until the needed amount of fuel has been consumed. Adding at least 1 gallon of fresh fuel to the tank will suspend the fuel freshness mode. The vehicle will determine when to run the fuel freshness mode based on how much fuel was added to the tank, and on how long it has been driven in EV Now mode. Up to 9 months of additional time will be gained if an equal amount of fresh fuel is added to the existing amount of fuel that is in the tank. Fuel freshness mode will eventually bring the tank level to one gallon if fuel is not added. This feature will not activate if your fuel tank has one gallon of fuel or less. If the vehicle is used in a manner that rarely runs the engine, it is recommended to keep the fuel level to about the amount that will be consumed every 6 months. For example, if four gallons are used on average, let the fuel level reduce to about 1/8 of a tank, then add in 4 gallons. This will keep the fuel fresh and prevent fuel freshness mode from activating. There's also an Oil Maintenance Mode: Oil Maintenance Mode (If Equipped) The oil maintenance mode is equipped on Energi models only. The oil maintenance mode keeps the engine oil quality in good condition when you drive the vehicle with limited engine use. If the vehicle is in oil maintenance mode when you start the vehicle, a message will appear in the instrument cluster. While the vehicle is in oil maintenance mode, the vehicle will run the engine as necessary. If you select the EV Now mode while the vehicle is in the oil maintenance mode, EV Now mode will be suspended for as long as you are in oil maintenance mode. The oil maintenance mode will resume the next time you start the vehicle. Changing the engine oil and resetting the oil life monitoring system will suspend the oil maintenance mode.

What's in your C-Max today?

Just for you Laurel, here's two gardening :camera: from down south. Hang in there, spring will be here before you know it! :yahoo: Six large pots of Ginger Lilly's and a 20lb bag of lawn fertilizer. -
Welcome to the site Jason. :noobie: You can go to this ford site: http://www.etis.ford.com/vehicleSelection.do and enter your VIN under the "Vehicle" tab just to the right of the "Home" tab. It will then list any outstanding actions that need updating. The economy update was issued last August so it stand to reason that yours was updated before you purchased in November but we're talking about local dealers here so............ :drop: :lol2:

What's in your C-Max today?
fotomoto replied to C-MaxSea's topic in Cargo, Hauling, Roof Racks & Towing
Unfortunately, one of the two beds died from the heat/too much sun, so I'll be starting a new one and will post it then. However, the CMax continues as the work mule by having to transport a very large front loading washer and dryer combination plus pedestals this last weekend. Believe me, it doesn't get any tighter than this! The box was the exact same size as the hatch opening (29 inches) but I still had close to a foot of clearance left before the front seats. 8 cubic foot front load dryer: It took three trips but I saved the $55 delivery fee. -
Do they make any performance claims or is it just a cosmetic item?

Does our car really NOT HAVE a "Low Washer Fluid" indicator?
fotomoto replied to CarpeNivem's topic in Interior
I check it when I check my oil level. -
I got an Energi model for about that price last fall (no roof). Ford's current Texas incentives are $2,500 off for a 2013 hybrid.

Took Ownership of Ruby Red 2014 Ford C-Max SEL
fotomoto replied to Ponypower's topic in Lounge: Off-Topic
Here's one for a 2014 SEL I found on a lot here in Texas: 1FADP5BU8EL501336 -
I followed the FEH (ford escape hybrid), watched the used market on them, and found they stood up. After Toyota, Ford has the most experience with hybrids. http://www.greencarreports.com/news/1085577_2008-ford-escape-hybrid-500k-miles-still-in-patrol-service

I've had two but both were operator error so I voted zero on two CMax'es with a combined 25,000 miles. But I can only vote once! ;)

MFT & Alternate Android Messengers
fotomoto replied to ScubaDadMiami's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
I recently had this same issue with both CMax'es and both of our iPhones. A little to co-inky-dinky if you ask me but I digress..... Anyway, I found when doing the un-pair/re-pair dance, it worked much better when I powered down the car and phone (restarts) between each step. They've both been working fine since. -
Thanks as always Bill for bringing this to our attention. I added it to the NRG forum.

Part numbers on both the 2013 and 2014 CMax'es are the same according to fordparts.com for the following items: short block, long block, engine complete assembly, piston, and piston rings. http://www.fordparts.com/Default.aspx?gnav=nav:home

CMax- won't be driven for 4 mo.- prep or advice?
fotomoto replied to wamba2000's topic in General Discussion
Northern motorcyclist go through this every year so you're not alone by any stretch of the imagination. Add some fuel stabilizer and a trickle charger to the the 12V battery. You could also remove the 12V and take it home to keep on a charger.
