  1. So are your cmax grill covers a direct fit with the FFH?
  2. None. Since the update, the forum has been fairly quite especially compared to before. It's not perfect but it's a WHOLE lot better.
  3. Well at 8 months owned and no waxes, the paint is still looking great on the hybrid after every wash so when I got the Energi the first thing I did was order some more opti-coat 2.0 for it. I got it applied today. Same steps as I did with the hybrid except that I broke up the entire process over two days instead of one. I preferred it much more this way. I managed the 20cc's of treatment better this time and after applying to the paint I was able to treat the grill, headlights, all black trim, all windows except the windshield and finally the wheels.
  4. Sure. It's damn near mandatory here. :redcard: There's a good thread in the exterior sub-forum: http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/291-tinted-windows/
  5. Here's a recent thread from a Prius forum: "I expected the mileage to fall in the winter but was not expecting this large of drop. Also wind + cold is even worse. I bought my car new and the first couple of tanks were actual 50 mpg for combo city & hwy. Now winter is here plus short trip across town, shut it off, back across town, shut it off with very little highway driving and it dropped to 38mpg. Now this tank with 70 miles on it is showing on the dash as 35.7 with temps 10-20 df. My old Honda Accord V-6 would be down to 18-19 mpg for the same trips and weather but I just didn't think the Prius would drop from 50mpg into the 30's. Hopefully when summer returns & the gas formula is changed to summer fuel my 50 mpg will appear again." and from a Volt board: After a couple charges, I'm noticing a disturbing trend. It seems I'm only getting 20-30 miles per charge, which is far short of the advertised 40 miles - which is what everyone else seems to be getting. My commute is 10 miles, city driving mostly, averaging about 30mph - fairly heavy traffic, mostly flat and no big hills. I live in Seattle, and the weather has been in the mid-40's lately. I keep the heat off, make sure my climate efficiency is always under 10%. When I drive, I make sure the green ball stays dead in the center - brake slowly (mostly allow regen to slow vehicle), accelerate slowly and smoothly, etc. Even more disconcerting is that when my gas engine kicked in yesterday, I drove 6 miles on the ICE and used 0.26 gallons of gas! This would equate to 24mpg, which is far below the advertised 36mpg. Is there something wrong with my car? Perhaps with the battery? Should I take it in to the dealer? So when your AVG. meter keeps dropping like a stone, remember you're not the only one! Physics/temperatures affect all vehicles.
  6. Dang, bad timing for me. Today, I'll be applying Opti-Coat 2.0 that I got from Amazon to my new NRG. From auto geek with the code, it would have been $17 less :spend: ; however, without the black friday discount their regular price shipped is higher than Amazon. Thanks for posting.
  7. No ads here since the original Hybrid games which were really nationally driven. I'm in the heart of truck country so local dealers advertising a hybrid (even prius) around here is nearly unheard of.
  8. Welcome to the club! My wife loves hers too. Yesterday she told me she loved the "get up and go" the most ( a subtle slight against our former prius). :happy feet:
  9. BURRRRRRRRP! zzzzzzzzzzzzz SNORE zzzzzzzzzzzz SNORE zzzzzzzzzzz Huh? Did someone say something? I had a good case of triptophan overdose because I made the best turkey I've ever done (and I don't care for turkey!). My daughter AKA Miss Picky Pants even asked for seconds which is the ultimate compliment for me. I used a new cooking gadget/early Christmas present: a Char-Broil Big Easy "oil-less" frier/cooker. I made it cajon style with spices and a coating of peanut oil and it turned out beautifully. I didn't take a pic of it but here's one of a chicken I prepared and cooked the exact same way except for the russets on the bottom: We had a great Thanksgiving and hope ya'll did too! :wub2:
  10. Yup and last night I pulled my first fast one with the twins. Wife took the kids and friends to the movies in the NRG but a short while later my level II 240v charger showed up on the doorstep. After wiring in a plug and installing it in the garage, I naturally wanted to see if my handiwork.... um....worked. :detective: So off to the theater I go in the hybrid and switch out cars and even put it in the exact same spot. Fast forward an hour later, I get a frantic call from the wife telling me she must have left the car unlocked :drop: because her coat was missing. Yeah, I let her go on for a few more seconds before spilling the beans that the coat was safe at home in the garage with the NRG.
  11. Confirmed. Both ports work at the same time. Paul, if you place your heel on the brake pedal and then rotate your foot to the 10 or 11 o'clock position, your toes should touch or be very close to the second port.
  12. Good question Matt. I headed out the door but this evening I'll see if my old ultra-gauge will power up on the second port. I wouldn't see not but you know about assuming.
  13. I had mine loaded up the same way for a summer vacation plus a cargo carrier. You may remember the pic: Anyway, speeds were 75-80mph on I-10 and I netted about 35mpg. So there's your low bar to surpass. :shift:
  14. Original post has a new code. That's good to hear Bike1. I have an older ultra-gauge that can't read many of the hybrid parameters but more importantly it wouldn't shut down and ran down my 12v overnight. Your newer version has fixes for that.
  15. Yeah don't want to hi-jack this thread. Go here for my update and pic on it: http://fordcmaxenergiforum.com/topic/1874-buying-level-2-charger-soon-which-do-you-have/?p=15011
  16. Way to go SDM! :happy feet: Yeah cutting a/c use instantly helps mpg's. You should be golden till April-ish or so.
  17. Dang I just bought a clipper creek charger for the NRG but OTOH our hybrid will now be the highway mule so I've been wanting to try something like this. Thinking......
  18. Contrary to the large old school gear selector in the the CMax, gear changes in modern hybrids are done electronically. A drivers seat sensor that reads weight, just like the passenger seat air bag sensors do, could signal the ECU to switch the vehicle to park if all three of the following conditions exists: 1) the accelerator is not being pressed 2) no one is sitting in the drivers seat 3) speedometer reading is under 1 mph
  19. Anybody remember the leather bra fad of the 90's? I had a factory one on our Honda Civic SI. They could mar the paint if dirt got underneath but otherwise worked well and were easy to take on/off. A modern version that covers up the grill like truckers do might have a market.
  20. Hello nancyscmax and welcome to the club! :happy feet: This threadl is for the hybrid version of the CMax that doesn't have a plug. It's not a fair contest to allow us Energi owners to compete. For example, I'm right at 500 miles on 1.9 gallons of gas for my first week of NRG ownership. For NRG specific questions or concerns, please also join this sister forum: http://fordcmaxenergiforum.com I'd say 90% of the cars are identical so it's best to belong to both.
  21. Of the 3,000 new jobs, 2,400 will be technical professionals who will work in product development, manufacturing, quality, purchasing and information technology. http://corporate.ford.com/news-center/press-releases-detail/pr-help-wanted2658-ford26rsquos-38312
  22. Yeah, is that a "green" thing or a security thing? A local ordinance?
  23. Many years ago on another forum, I lost hundreds of pictures I had uploaded to that server for numerous how-to articles and without the pics those threads were basically useless. That fiasco along with many other issues like the ones folks in this thread are having has taught me to use third party solutions. I use photobucket.
  24. WT=water temp and IMPG=Instant MPG I typically used both of those along with the HV and 12V batteries SOC. I recently moved mine over to the NRG and need to program more X gauges into it.
  25. Glad to hear you and the engineers have got a better solution going. FYI, the 12V battery is relatively easy to get to. It's inside the rear hatch not underneath the car.
