ptjones replied to ptjones's topic in Articles, News & Reviews
I guess it is all in one Show. 11+hour drive for me so it is a challenge to justify 3 days, but I'm very interested to see what's going on. :) Paul -

ptjones replied to ptjones's topic in Hybrid Driving Tips & Tricks

If you put the Cursor on the Name of Poster on the Top Line of a Post and click it you get a Box with Posters Name and a line that says Send Message and click it. :) I sent you a message and you should see a red 1 under the envelope on the top line with your name on it. That is at the top of the scene. :) Paul

Maybe they will have to make them here. :) Paul

Post Your Life Time MPG's, Total Mi., EV mi., Regen mi. and Brake Score
ptjones replied to ptjones's topic in Fuel Mileage
Well it happened again and only in 2500 mi./one month, New 50.1 mpg Life Time Score. :yahoo: Just shows you that even with 207k miles your average can keep going up if you work at it.. :) Obviously this is the time of year to do it. Paul -
Looking forward to see up to date info on FORD's new Hybrid/EV vehicles. :) Paul

I was looking at Fuelly.com for 2018 CMAX's which there was 7 with 71 fillups and a average of 44.9 mpg, most people don't show City/HWY driving %, but the best mpg's average was 51.9 and they appear to be using Premium. :) they're in Chicago and maybe on this forum. :) Paul

I don't think it is a good idea to shut off the car until update is finished. Paul

How long should brakes on the CMAX Last?
ptjones replied to howie411's topic in Brakes, Chassis, Park Assist & Suspension
From a traction stand point tires work better at 50 psi and I have 78k mi. on my Michelin's, going for 85k-90k miles. When I first started working on tire pressure my tires were wearing more on outside edges than the center. By going from 38 psi to 50 psi the sidewalls get a little stiffer keeping the tire from lifting the inside edge when cornering and putting more pressure on the center of the tire. This is also good in the rain to make the tire more resistant to hydroplaning. :) Paul -
My FORD Dealer can get Michelin Energy Savers set of four for $730 out the door and then add in $70 MasterCard rebate from Michelin takes it down to $660 which is a real good deal, but it is over Sept. 20 :) I have 78k mi. on my Michelin's, but I think I can go to 85k mi. before I need to change. I'm going to buy them now, but wait to change them till I need too. Normally it is a real good idea to have the alignment done to, but I'm getting such good wear I don't think the Dealer can do better. :) I picked up the tires today and it came to $730.17 Total. I applied for a rebate at FordOwner.com and was notetied that I would get my $70 rebate in 6-8 weeks. :) Paul

"Diversion" Have you watched my YouTube videos? http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/6568-how-to-drive-a-cmax-hybridffh-to-get-great-gas-mileage/ From my experience your Technique isn't the most efficient way to get the Best MPG's on the HWY, do you use the 2 Bar acceleration and go into EV when you reach about 50% state of charge(SOC)? Have you use a good fuel injector cleaner? If you are interested I do get out your way, have friends in Deltona, I could check your CMAX out, I have a ScanGaugeII to monitor ICE functions. I average about 52-54 mpg on the FWY. :) Paul

The ECM automatically adjusts for octane, It is advancing the timing anytime It can until it detects ICE knock and then retards the timing. So you can use any octane you want above 86 and I would use the highest octane Pure Gas you can get to see a noticeable difference performance and gas mileage. :) Let us know how it goes. Paul

I think what I'm saying is the ICE isn't wearing out. With 207k mi., I only have 100k mi. on the ICE so at 500K mi. I will only have 225k miles on the ICE. :) Paul

I have almost 79K mi. on my Michelin's using 50psi in about 2.5 yrs. I should be able to make 85-90 k miles. Michelin is a special with buying a set of tires getting a $70 MasterCard reward card to Sept. 20, 2018. LOVE YOUR DRIVE. FALL INTO SAVINGS. Get a $70 Mastercard Reward Card after submission* with the purchase of four new MICHELINĀ® passenger or light truck tires. Offer valid August 22 - September 20, 2018. Paul

ptjones replied to pianewman's topic in Brakes, Chassis, Park Assist & Suspension
Looking at the pics on FORDPARTS.com it looked like they could be easily done yourself. :) Paul -
At this point it looks like the ICE will last longer than the car. :) Paul

7 years? :headscratch: I think the first CMAX's were built in Sept. 2012 and it's Aug. 2018 = 6 years. :) LOL You know I see CMAX's all the time now. Paul
