  1. Mine arrived today. I've gotta say, it's a pretty cool gift. You can charge it from your computer. It's got a charger for iPad, Micro USB, and the old-style USB, plus a *reverse* USB to probably run a laptop off it. I don't know yet how long the charge lasts, I'm just now charging it up. Return addy is Ford Customer Service, Troy, MI Ken Czubay, VP US Marketing, Sales and Service.
  2. Thanks for that info Laurel. For some reason I had no sound with the video. I'll look it up from work today and re-watch it. I've never heard of Mason bees!
  3. Great info Mike! Thanks for sharing. How long did you keep the hive? Any books you recommend? I passed on the info about mowing to Jerry..
  4. Jerry saw 2 C-MAX ads Saturday night, one comparing with a Prius (I'm guessing Sal and family) and another one. I saw the same ad last night on a rerun of Modern Family. On the you tube link you can vote for the ad. Right now it's about 97% positive.
  5. Yes, that's how mine works. Hold the button for about 5 seconds. Lights come on and horn honks when it's started. I've used it several times this week here in MI. Boy, was I grateful for it!
  6. Sounds like the proximity sensors to me. I get that if they are covered with snow/ice/slush/icicles, mud, anything. Tone is different for the front and rear. If you hear it in reverse it's one of the 3 rear ones. Give 'em a swipe and the tone should stop.
  7. I'm going to throw this one out there.......are there any beekeepers among our ranks? Jerry and I got a bee hive (kit) that we are going to put together (and try not to kill each other in the process.) The kit has about a million pieces!!! :noobie: We need more bees for our garden, and the honey will be awesome! :drool:We are going to a meeting in Ann Arbor Tuesday night. Now, you should know that I am terrified of bees! I have been known to try to get out of a moving car if a bee gets in. :drop: But over the years I've developed a respect for the honey bee. So for me to be excited about having a bee hive is HUGE in our family. If there are any others with hives, please chime in. We can chat by PM if you want. Wish me luck!
  8. Hi Frank, I have the original tires.
  9. Between Sunday and Monday we got over 15 inches of new snow, on top of the 8 we got on New Years day. Yesterday was a *Weather Condition Yellow* so my boss said don't bother trying to get to work...........so I didn't. There was some plowing done yesterday and our driveway was cleared, thanks to Caleb, Jerry, and Asia.... but all area schools were closed as well as many businesses. People were advised not to travel unless it was an emergency. This emergency condition extends until 7am tomorrow (1.8.14.) This morning I used the remote start for the first time in 13 months of ownership and it worked perfectly. I drove down our snow covered street with no problems. My route to work is mostly country roads, some bordered by shaved corn fields, completely open to the wind on both sides, so part of the road, though plowed, was drifted over by the high winds to a height of nearly 4 feet. Parts of the road were snow covered, cleared only by previous drivers, parts were plowed and polished to a high gloss by the wind. Traction control worked flawlessly at the badly degraded intersections. There was not much traffic, but I was able to drive at close to speed limit with no fear............and remember, I'm a :baby: . I arrived at work well before most of the other employees, who live much closer. This afternoon I used the remote start again.....from inside my office.....which is about 200 feet from where I parked. Once again, no problem. The roads were much better for the ride home......no drifts but much more *polishing* of the snow pack. Still, I felt no concern driving....not for my car anyway, more for those approaching from the cross streets. I love my C-MAX! (No mention of temperatures or MPGs was made in this non-commercial :love_shower: )
  10. Gill Covers really do work and it's disappointing that some members still will complain about the cold when there is a simple solution Ok, got it! No more mention of cold weather, temperatures, wind chill, mileage in winter, etc. from me. And for the record, I'l B---h about winter and sub-zero temps no matter what I drove because I'm a :baby:
  11. Brisk, he says? I think it was +11 that morning!
  12. MPGs be damned! It's -17 actual and -30 wind chill. I'm using the remote start tomorrow morning!

  15. I got one picture of Jelly on Saturday, but she's surrounded by Asia's running buddies. I'll try to get one today if I can move out from under the canopy. It's still dark so I can't be sure, but last estimate was 12-18" of snow.
  16. I was wondering the same thing!
  17. OK, that's just mean! But no surprise, since I have MhB weather on my WeatherBug. And this is a Mammoth - worthy storm, for sure. 8-14 inches by the time it's done, and -25 to -35 wind chills tomorrow and Tuesday. Yes, I miss MhB!!!
  18. Well, this is gonna be fun! I'll see if I can get a picture of Jelly (ahem.....not Jello, Jus!) in the snow bank today or tomorrow. 6-12 more inches coming tonite-tomorrow.......YIKES!!! Did someone exile me to Duluth? Asia has running practice this morning and I will be working the water stations for the team. It's 13* right now, so that means the runners will be drinking Ultima slushies!!! Asia will be in screw shoes and I'll be sporting Yak Trax. No slip *n* falls for us! Have a great day y'all! I'll check in later.
  19. Well, it ain't from In *N* Out, that's for sure!!!
  20. We were in LA last week and heard several radio ads for local dealerships advertising the C-MAX! About damn time!
  21. I absolutely would, without hesitation. I love the higher seating, the technology, the ride, and the MPGs. I live in MI, so it is less than stellar in the winter, but still way better than my Jeep. Summer MPGs are awesome! Go test drive it!
