  1. 33 miles at 70mph, 23 degrees = 42.3 MPG Finally temps coming up and so is milage.
  2. My 33 mile trips on the freeway at 70mph with temp of -15. I was only able to get 34.6mpg. This morning temp was +13 I got 40.2mpg. I have found that 50 is magic temp. I jump to 47 - 50mpg. Can't wait to get back up there on Friday
  3. The drive home temp was -15 mileage dropped to 34 mpg. (33 miles at 70 mph) Maxie doesn't like the cold
  4. I was born and in Dallas and raised in Grapevine. I know you aren't used to temps like that down there. I just got a wrong number call from someone in South Dakota. She aid it was -17 there with wind chills of -40's At least I don't have that yet. That will get here tomorrow. I'm burning 8 hrs of my 532 hrs of vacation time I have saved up and stay home tomorrow. It looked like driving in a blizzard this morning just from blowing snow. Maxie drove good in it while other people were getting blown off of the road around me. The wind was spinning cars out. Had a semi jackknife on the freeway just after I went through.
  5. Temp is still falling. Will be -15 on the drive home. Wind chill is -15 now and should be about -35 for the walk back to my Maxie after work. Brrr....
  6. Just drove to work this morning. Temp was -5 and SURPRISE got 38mpg on the freeway. :)
  7. All well and good, but who has 16ft parking space. Not to mention a sunny day. Around here sun is at a premium especially in the winter. I think this will never get off of the drawing board. The regenerative shocks I read about sound promising. In combo with brakes sounds like you could extend the range of cars to the point you don't need to recharge during the day. THAT WOULD BE GREAT NICE TRY FORD
  8. You are a lucky pup. I had to fight the dealership to fix it. I had Prius passing me everwhere I went. Semi trucks passing me on hills. The dealership couldn't find anything wrong and got rude with me so I went to another dealer and they fixed it.
  9. I had the same thing happen to me. They had to reinstall the update. Something didn't take.
  10. That's what I had to do. My maxie excellerated great before the update. After I almost got killed pulling out of the dealership. The car had no power at all. The ICE was screaming and no power to the wheels. It was like driving a standard car with the clutch slipping.
  11. sounds about right. That is what my summer and winter milage numbers have been almost exactly.
  12. Drove mine in the snow for the first time today. Not much traction from the tires that came on the car. Had problems turning and stopping but not too bad. The biggest problem was the @#$%hole drivers on the road with me. They were tailgating and cutting me off all of the way to work. 3 lost control and went off of the road. Thanks to the anti lock brakes I was able to slow down enough to keep for crashing into them. Got to work late but I got here in one peace. I normaly drive my truck on snow days but didn't think it was that bad outside.
  13. My sel has to warm up the engine to run heat. It must still use the radiator to run heat. The blower will stay off until the ICE has warmed up also. Thought the ICE will warm up no matter what to warm up the CAT for emissions. Just takes longer in cold weather.
  14. Arctic air still around. Maxie is holding on between 38 - 40 mpg on the freeway at 70 with heat on. This morning 12 degrees wind chill -2 got 39.5mpg on my 33 mile trip at 70. Feel bad for the Canadians with this cold for months. Ohio generaly stays around the freezing mark all winter + -. This is colder than normal.

    Cmax Problem

Tell her to use the thob to lock the car. Press the lock button twice. It will blow the horn to tell you that all of the doors are locked. As ceemax posted there is a amber light on the radio control panel that will light up also.
  16. I agree. Palm trees would be nice. I can all of the snow flakes I want by looking outside.
  17. I had to take one off this summer. I had a deer fly inside of it. Don't know how it got in there. They were easy to remove and replace.
  18. So do I. Looks like I did the right thing building my car with remote start. (I have the keyless entry and push button start). Haven't had any problems with the factory installed version. I espiecally like being able to progrm the heat and the defrosters to come on during remote start.(set for 15 min run time) It's coming in handy now with snow and ice in the mornings , to come out to a warm defrosted car ready to drive without having to go out and start and turn everything on first. Way to go Ford
  19. And remote start active will be displayed. Press the brake and the start button as normal to drive the car
  20. I had a bicyclist just about hit me in a crosswalk. Then got hit by the car ran in front of. Couldn't blame the driver of the car. He had to swerve to miss the bike. It wasn't too bad I jumped to get out of the way and the car hit my foot. It spun me around and down I went on my back.
  21. Had the coldest temp so far last night here in north centeral Ohio. (15 degrees) Drove into work this morning in the cold and mileage has dropped to 38.2 mpg.(33 miles on the freeway at 70mph w/ cruise set) Winter hasn't even started and getting these temps. I'll have to get me some of those grill covers I keep reading about and see what happens.
  22. I picked mine up at the end of last winter so not much driving in the snow. I agree that the stock tires are geared more toward gas mileage than traction. I personnally will drive my truck on snow days and my C Max the rest of the time. I live on a state highway so my driveway gets plowed shut on snowy days by DOT. I can tractor it out before I leave only to have it plowed shut again when I get home. Don't want to damage my car trying to get back into my driveway so I just drive my truck.
  23. I saw someone back out of a parking space at a grocery store. They hit the car next to them at the driver door and scrapped down to then rear. They got stuck half way and punched the gas and ripped the rear bumper off of the parked car. Then just drove away like nothing happened. Lucky I was there :camera: with a cell phone camera. I called the police and gave them some nice pics of the licence plate and driver. I couldn't beleive what was happening. The poor woman that owned the car came out while I was waitng on the police. She freeked. Happy ending. She got a new car out of it, and the driver that did it went to jail. Guess he had license suspended and was not supossed to be driving.
