I see my instant mpg gauge run in the 20's while the ICE is warming up or on hills but never on flat open highway.

My trips to and from work get 46 to 48 (60 miles freeway and 6 miles on city streets) Yesterday traffic was heavy and going so in town and slow again near home got 50.5 for the trip. Maxie shines in slow traffic. Update should get this all of the time

from displayed info and physical gasoline in the tank. First I was on my way home the gas gauge turned red says low feul. Trip computer says 11.6 gals used should have 1.5 gals left, but miles to empty says 10. I get 40-45mpg on the highway at 70. Should have said at least 60 to empty. Filled the tank 12 gals exactly. Display off by .4. 556 miles on 12 gals and mpgs said 45.2. Do the math should be 46.5 Don't know what to trust. I live in the country and am not 1 block or 2 from a gas station so have to plan ahead. Don't want to be walking.

I am taking in and having them take care of a few other items while its there, so it might be a while. I'll post an update when I get her back with the solution they come up with.

Before long we just get in and say "HELLO KIT" I'm in a hurry super pursute mode please.

Happen again this morning. :sad: Got in pushed start and the check engine light came on. Just to make sure I tried putting it into drive to see what happens and no power to the wheels. Turned it off and restarted and it's ok to drive No check engine light. Guess I'll be taking her in to get serviced. I'll have them fix my headliner recall and update the software while they have it there. I'm going to miss my Maxie :cry:

I did the same thing you did. I checked all of the reports and tests on the C Max. I found this forum and started reading all of the posts. So when Consumer reports said 38 mpg. I knew that was wrong. After hearing the time to delivery when ordering I went in and ordered mine in February. Got mine in mid March. Love it. Started out in cold weather and break in period getting 40+ 5500 miles later getting 46 to 49 on the highway. The more you drive your mileage will go up and EV+ will activate as you get 1/4 mile from your frequent destinations. Don't forget to get your software update so you can get into EV up to 85 mph. Congrats on your new car.

Went out this morning to leave for work. Pushed on the brake and then the start button. 3 chimes went off, check engine light was on and the message PLEASE PULL OVER SAFELY was displayed. Turned it out and restarted, NO PROBLEM. :headscratch: STRANGE?

My dealer pulled all c maxes the next day after I told them about the recall. Guess they know now. When are 2014 models coming out? I see new Fusions on ford.com but no C Maxes. What's up?

I'm with fotomoto Press and hold the brake petal then the start button. If you just push the start button and not the the brake first you just get accessary mode.

Nothing here either. Dealer didn't know anything about the headliner until I told them. :rtfm: Hoping to get the headliner and software update at the same time.

Welcome I to have a long commute to work. I drive 70 miles a day round trip. 90% on the freeway at 70mph. I get anywhere from 46 to 52 mpg in my C MAX. Just this morning on the 35 mile trip into work with the cruse set at 70 I got 52.1mpg. My director has a prius and gets 55 to 60 on the freeway. I looked at them to but didn't like the dash layout ,seats were not comfortable and no power at all. No Prius for me Took a Fussion Hybid for a test drive next and liked it, but when I got back to the dealership I saw the C Max, I decided to drive it to. That was all it took. :rockon: I went in and orderd one that day. I have just over 5,000 on the odometer so far with no regrets. :wub2: Hope this helps you make your decission.

Bought my first car in 82. Got me a 72 Mustang fastback with a 429 CID engine. Loved it. Gas mileage not so much.

Ceemax 71 It's not working at all. Never has. I hear tire whine wind noise ICE running AC compressor noise while driving. My truck with offroad tires is not much noisier to drive in than my max. I see why they put in the car. It's makes a lot of noise.
