  1. Yes, It would be very possible. It's a draw and that's all I can report on. IDK if it was keeping the buss active or not, but others have been pointing to that possibility. Either way, the draw stopped pulling my SOC below 75% after unplugging the drive. That's also the only thing I could verify with my charger. I never tested the parasitic load or verified what the draw was. Only that it stopped after removing the drive from the port..
  2. My thumb drive always had the flashing LED. If your theory were valid, the amperage draw would not have changed as the APIM would have still been active and drawing amperage after the drive was removed. How do you explain the amperage draw turning off after removing the drive, if it wasn't the drive causing the APIM to stay active ????????????
  3. Purchased a new Ram Diesel pickup, so I sold the C-Max to get some quick cash. Turned around and bought the 14 about 4 months later. Really missed it. I like the 14 better. It's a 303A package :love_shower:
  4. It says Sony right under the the radio knob......... It's a Sony system.
  5. The free oil change isn't for Synthetic oil. They'll try to rape you for full synthetic. I run Royal Purple 0W20 with the Motorcraft factory FL901S oil filter. I'm also a DIY'er. Don't forget to check your tire pressures too. I run 55 psi. The tires are rated @ 51 psi.
  6. Over a years worth of ownership between the 13 and 14. I missed my 13 so much, I had to get another one. For me at this point in my life, the C-Max is the only car for me. Everything else is just plain and boring to drive. It just hasn't been like my other cars were I loose the excitement to drive it. It's just so much fun to run around in EV mode. The car is so quite when sitting at a light or rolling down a nice back road with the birds chirping away. People look and do the double take when they can't hear it running. I like rolling though the neighborhood without making noise. Some people never even notice the car while they're deep in conversation. I just quietly roll by and enjoy the lack of noise. The speed limit has become the new normal driving speed. Nobody gives you a dirty look as you roll by at the speed limit.
  7. My drive kept the LED flashing 100% of the time. IMO, it was able to keep the buss active and that made the APIM stay active. Why else would the SOC stop dropping after it was removed from the USB port ?
  8. Not so. My USB thumb drive had an LED and it stayed active all the time. I unplugged it and my 12V battery SOC stabilized.
  9. Just don't try to fold the seat with those under it
  10. Only with a scan tool capable of reading the OLM data.
  11. You'll need to read the amperage draw, have the passenger door open with the latch flipped closed and access the fuse box to pull fuses and see what circuit is causing the draw. Then you need to know everything that's on the circuit and also understand that by pulling fuses you can active a module to wake up. This will give you a false reading. It takes up to an hour for the systems to sleep.
  12. You can't read a parasitic load by voltage drop on the battery cable(s). It needs to be an inline setup with a DVOM set to monitor amperage in the M/V scale.
  13. The HVB charges the 12V battery. Everything runs off the 12V battery. Yes the car will run the ICE to recharge the HVB as needed as long as it's in ready to drive (on) mode.
  14. The engine isn't going to warm the trans fluid directly. The bigger issue is, the hybrid isn't equipped with the trans fluid pump for extended EV. So they probably active the ICE to circulate the trans fluid for proper lubrication and limit the RPM's to help lubricate the ICE before it hits a high load demand, when cold. Only the engineers know the control strategy behind it.
  15. The C-Max will chirp the horn twice if you exit the car without shutting it off. It also has a door chime to alert you, but the horn should be loud enough to make you notice just in case you didn't hear the chime. Not a problem. I hate dealing with keys after having this car. It the best thing since sliced bread, IMO :wub2:
  16. They don't want the ICE coming on cold at high speeds because of possible engine damage. You exceed the threshold of 35 and it will come on to warm up before the car can get to a higher speed. Therefore reducing the possibility of high RPM/ lubrication issues at high RPM's, cold. Just think what could happen if the ICE came on at 70 mph, cold
  17. Heated leather power seats, auto lift gate, rain sense wipers, parking aids, backup camera, power express up/down windows, Sony audio system w/nav., push button start, keyless entry without using a FOB, dimming rear view mirror, and tilt/telescopic steering wheel just to name a few :love_shower:
  18. My car was built May 22nd and purchased on July 3 That makes it about 2 weeks on the lot :happy feet: Freshy!
  19. You need a plug in charger to properly charge a battery after it's been discharged. Driving will do nothing more than give you grief like you are dealing with right now. Get a good battery charger and use it. I have recommended this one. I use it on all my customers cars, my cars and trucks and motorcycles too. Best 55 bucks you can spend: http://www.amazon.com/Schumacher-SSC-1500A-CA-SpeedCharge-Charger-Battery/dp/B000H961YI/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1409805341&sr=8-2&keywords=1500+battery+charger
  20. Nope! Not even one regret. That's why, I purchased a 2014 after I sold my 2013 :happy feet:
  21. Make's no difference. Get the one you want because it's hard/expensive to change it after. :victory:
  22. Yes, you can as long as the new wheels will allow proper valve stem fitment.
  23. I have and recommend the Weather Tech mats.
  24. I would say it lacks more than a little getup and go :hat_tip:
  25. 2014's have production changes that you will not know about. Modules and electrical components can come from new/different vendors. Updated internal parts and firmware changes as well as design changes take place. While some spec information such as final drive ratio's are changed, those spec items are listed. Lots of other changes happen that you'll never know about, so 14's are very different over all and 15's will be more of the same. It's the way it works in today's modern digital age and cars are no exception.
