We put a dead fish under a co-workers front seat once. Have you changed your cabin filter? Get some "Frigi-Fresh" at an auto supply. here it is on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/BG-Frigi-Fresh-A-C-Heater-Fresh-Air-Restore-Makers-BG44K-BG708-5-5oz-/280948515565 Says it kills bacteria.

2 things 1. Have you ever used the 12v power point before? It could be bad, NOT likely 2. A certain amount of tire mobility kits WILL BE defective from the factory, you should have your dealer check it. Now it's time for me to go check ours, it's never been out of the car.

Update: HOWBOUT THAT It works, before the lift gate upgrade the doors would lock maybe 1 out of 20 tries. I just locked the doors with the black button 3 times, that's a total of 5 since new :) . FYI: DW had/has almost NO trouble locking/kicking :drop:
-
Reading this reminds me of another feature I gave up on. I wonder if the fix for the lift gate kick fixed the touch the black button on the door handle to lock feature? I gave up on it before I gave up on the lift gate. The lift gate works most of the time NOW. I'll try the black button the next time I think about it.

Don take a look at the "Maintenance, TSB's & Recalls" sub forum, it's close to the bottom of the HOME page. Here are links to some of the battery related threads in the "Maintenance, TSB's & Recalls" sub forum. The first and last links are the ones that will probably resolve your problem. You might want to print the last one, it tells which elec. connectors are suspect. http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/2651-tsb-13-7-10-12-volt-battery-discharged-will-not-hold-charge-radio-with-42-inch-display-only-built-on-or-before-6212013/ http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/2370-tsb-13-6-23-updates-tsb-13-5-1-hybrid-and-energi-cold-weather-charging-improvements/ http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/2428-ssm-32298-2013-c-max-fusionmkz-hybridenergi-possible-water-intrusion-in-connectors/?hl=water http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/1841-12-volt-battery-tsb-5962-or-fsa-13a01/ http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/1921-dead-12-volt-water-in-electrical-connectors/

Compared to incandescent bulbs (brake, turn, tail, etc) LED's don't use any electricity. If 12v power was an issue relative to MPG Ford would convert to LED's for 2014.

Anyone getting better MPG with the new update?
wab replied to armoredsaint's topic in General Discussion
Greetings and Welcome The name of the MPG upgrade is 13B07. some people report a small improvement a few people report a huge decrease in MPG a few people report a huge increase in MPG..ME :happy feet: . We went from high 39's (with a lot of effort) to high 44's (I'm back to my "normal" driving style WOT at times) starting to look like I'll be at 45+ in a few weeks. -
$550 goodwill payment, relabeling of mpg, and changes coming for 2014
wab replied to nemonik's topic in General Discussion
I'm guessing it's a logistics issue. FedEX couldn't possibly handle ALL those checks in one week. It's probably a $ (bottom line) issue... didn't Ford just start a new quarter? -
Dealer said to come back Monday, they know 13C07 is there just can't get any info from Ford tell then. wab
-
We have the 13C07 listed. I'll check on it tomorrow when they "FIX" our dead navigation.
-
Don't know. We haven't received ours yet (maybe :runaway: ). We've been out of town for a few weeks. wab

Greetings and Welcome The checks are starting to arrive. Take a look at this thread. http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/2921-refund-checks/ wab

Ours was the seal around the right rear door. Open the front door and look at the rear door seal on the B pillar. The seal would fold almost every time the right rear door was closed. The whistle sounded like it was about eye level on the front door. wab

GreenChicago check these refund threads. http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/2921-refund-checks/ http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/2780-550-goodwill-payment-relabeling-of-mpg-and-changes-coming-for-2014/?hl=refund http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/2829-recall-13b10-fuel-economy-goodwill-payment/?hl=refund But before doing that you might be more interested in the “Recall 13B07: The Guinea Pig Thread” Some people seem neutral about the upgrade some are more than happy (me) and a few are disappointed. But some of the disappointed ones (JohnnOhio) are happy with the upgrade after is has been correctly installed. You should take it back to your dealer for a re-install. wab

July to Aug??? Something doesn't smell :waiting: right! Your insurance :gaah: co is probably waiting for a (another) used one to show up. Have you checked with your Ford dealer?

I suspect Ford is looking for someone to PROMOTE to customer…what a major $%&^ up. The Cmax was marketed in the US and Canada as a developed European car. WRONG the power train is new to ford, NOT epa tested and NOT ready for the average US/Canada driver. Then to make the situation worse some PR person came up with the $550. AT THE SAME TIME as the developers/EPA certifiers FIXED the mpg problem. wab

Anyone getting better MPG with the new update?
wab replied to armoredsaint's topic in General Discussion
YES! :gold_star: :happy feet: I almost suspect that the problem some people have after the update happened to our cmax before the update. Pre-update in town I could (with a lot of effort) hit 39.9 MPG. After the update I have no problem (no effort) at all hitting 45+ MPG. In town highway has also gone up. Out of town highway (75+ MPH) hasn’t changed 34 to 39. I think the 2014’s will benefit in the 75+ MPH range a lot. wab -
Greetings and welcome Lots of good info here try “search” close to the top of the pg. But first take a look at this thread. http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/2650-recall-13b07-the-guinea-pig-thread/ It’s very long! Start by reading the first couple of pages then start looking for posts by JohnnOhio his seems to be by far the worst example of a failed upgrade, he starts on page 8 post # 144. NOTE most upgrades work and work right the first time, some take 2 tries and a very few take 3 or more. Some dealerships are STILL NOT up to speed on software upgrades on hybrids. Take it back, be courteous but firm. Explain to them that if they redo the upgrade using their wifi YOU WILL BE BACK and keep returning till they check with Ford for the proper procedure for cmax software upgrades. Good Luck wab

Here’s some hopefully good info, links and another picture of the 3.5.1 upgrade, our temperature shows 53. We don’t get the headliner recall, maybe someone who is satisfied can post a picture of their headliner. http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/2721-ford-software-issues/?hl=wireless&do=findComment&comment=28730 post #5 by ceemax71 If you’re still having MPG problems check this thread. http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/2650-recall-13b07-the-guinea-pig-thread/page-19?do=findComment&comment=31614 post #380 byceemax71 I can’t find the notice from Ford that they highly recommend to NOT use a wifi connection when doing these upgrades, maybe someone can post a link you can print. Good luck wab

Where's the best feed-thru point for wires?
wab replied to buckwild's topic in Accessories & Modifications
Congrats on your Phaeton (#1 on our diesel wish list) and cmax. I think the cmax will become a very popular toad when the word gets out about how easy the setup and operation is. No fuses to pull etc. Have you seen this thread? Lots of good info. http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/374-recreational-towing-behind-a-motor-home/ Are you doing a DIY for the baseplate or having it installed? I installed a Blue Ox because it looked a little easer than the Roadmaster, smaller holes and less cutting. I would probably still be working on it if it wasn’t for the Roadmaster instructions from etrailer. After the install and reading the above thread I realized the cutting was all plastic and the size of the holes didn’t matter….oh well the Blue Ox is fine. wab -
Up .1 to 39.2 this week. Most of our summer driving is at or above 75mph with ac. Disappointing that Ford will never get this cmax into the 40's at 75+mph. Looking forward to some 45mpg tanks this fall/winter. Disappointing that Ford will never get this cmax into the 47's. NOT going to hypermile NOT going to change the way I drive NEVER had trouble meeting/beating EPA before!

Update: I'm off my phone so here's the link to the video at http://www.etrailer.com/ http://www.etrailer.com/tv-install-blue-ox-brake-system-2013-ford-c-max-brk2012.aspx wab -
YEP every handle will click off at a different level AND that level will change as the handle wears. I've thought about pumping what the car says I used. BUT IT IS A DOCUMENTED FACT that the pump always lies IN FAVOR of the station.
