I do accelerate easer now but evidently I was already a hyper-braker. Brake score in the high 90’s to 100 all the time, without trying. I can’t even remember the last brake job I had. I’m a worse driver, but I’m getting better. I had a couple of minor events, brake score in the 40’s. Playing with the new toys and not driving defensively. BUT I’m getting better. avg MPG 40.6

I’m carrying an 110v charger, volt meter and an extension cord. I planned to charge the cmax off of the generator if it needed it, it didn’t. If you’re driving father than a couple of hours then you should stop and charge the cmax. It’s hard to get the gas motor to start. Enjoy wab

If you have a factory installed hitch then you should have a “7-way socket” on it. The 7-way will have everything you need, tail, brake/turn, 12v to charge the cmax battery and a GROUND. I used this between the 7-way on the MH and the C-Max. http://www.etrailer.com/Accessories-and-Parts/Roadmaster/RM-146-7.html I also used this between the MH and C-Max to protect the MH alternator. http://www.brakebuddy.com/Products/Accessories/Towed-Vehicle-Battery-Maintainer hope this is helping??? wab

Sorry for the slow response, we’re in south central Colorado and internet access is spotty at best. I was hoping you would get other responses, I guess everyone is out RVing. The 12v supply in the cargo area is on fuse 27 and has a 20a fuse. I bought a 12v extension cable that will reach from the cargo area power point to the Blue Ox plug. The above thread is a must read for anyone modifying their C-Max for towing. Most if not all of us were worried about doing ANYTHING to the cmax wiring! It’s still much too new for your local RV dealer. What baseplate are you using? Are you doing a self install?

Greetings and Welcome Check this thread, it has a lot of valuable information. It’s in the “Cargo, Hauling, Roof Racks & Towing” sub forum. http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/374-recreational-towing-behind-a-motor-home/ Make note of the wiring issues. The 12v battery WILL run down after +/-300 miles.Running the gas engine every 200 miles WILL not keep the 12v battery charged. The 12v power supplies on the console turn off after 15 minutes in accessory mode. But the one in the cargo area is always hot.You have to have the cmax in accessory mode while towing, although with a little DIY you don’t need to be in accessory or a charge wire from your MH. Check etrailer.com for a very good video that shows how to install additional lamps in the tail lights. http://www.etrailer.com/tv-install-tow-bar-wiring-2013-ford-c-max-bx8869.aspx 2 good things about this method. It’s a super easy DIY You don’t have to touch the electrical system of the C-Max. We have almost 3K towing miles on our cmax (2 500+ mile days) with no problems. I ran a charge wire AND ground from the MH to the 12v connections under the hood. We use a Blue Ox Patriot brake, it’s ok…only has 3 legs needs 4, a strategically located umbrella has solved that problem. Again welcome and the C-Max is turning out to be an excellent towed vehicle.

I’ve been saying the same thing to friends for yrs. “I can prove either side of an argument with THE same set of statistics.”

Yep happened yesterday, had to set the pump on the lowest notch. BUT it wasn't the C-Max. I was pumping 60 gal. into our motor home. Took a long LONG time, I would have moved but it was the only pump I could reach without blocking the whole station.

wab replied to ceemax71's topic in Maintenance, TSB's & Recalls
Update: The clock was RIGHT today. I told my wife "my phone, my clock MY car" :wub2: -
" I touch the screen and it gives me what ever it feels like. " It might help a little to re-calibrate the screen???

MFT Blank/Black Screen or Reboot Due to Phonebook Entries
wab replied to ceemax71's topic in Maintenance, TSB's & Recalls
We were developing a pattern. Several days/weeks of no problems Then three days in a row the clock would be off 1 or more hours Radio preset buttons would be grayed out, still worked just no station frequency visible 90* turn at a stop sign or right on red would put our NAV location in the weeds. Then the system would crash and "Performing System Maintenance" Several days/weeks of no problems etc. etc. Then Plus 3 suggested turning off auto phone update = fixed Till yesterday, I forgot my phone, sync used DW's who hasn't turned off auto update. This morning the clock was off 2:03 We used my phone today, NAV is still lost. :waiting: till tomorrow 3.5.2 maybe soon ??? -
I wonder what the WHOLE name for 3.5.1 is. There has to be a different designation for each version. 3.5.1.Taurus 3.5.1.Focus 3.5.1.C-Max If you could get StoBro2 to post a picture and C-Max Hybrid Member (he is a huge resource for the forum) :worship: to post the complete designation for the 3.5.1.C-Max.SEL.303a. Then all you have to do is diplomatically slip this info to your SA.

Might be time for a Master Reset. This might be the last step in the update and the tech didn't/ran out of time/has done 3 now thinks he doesn't need the manual/etc.

I corrected my post to read 212 C-Max. Here's the link I'm using. http://www.fuelly.com/car/ford/c-max
-
I just noticed that 16 of the total 212 C-Max are not hybrid and most of those are diesel. Could one of the Fuelly members get these 16 United Kingdom cars moved to the UK tab?

Take a look at pg 232 in the owners manual. "ECO Cruise Control This feature saves vehicle energy by relaxing acceleration compared to standard cruise control. For example, your vehicle may temporarily lose speed when going uphill. ECO will appear in the information display when ECO cruise control is activated. It can be switched on or off in the information display. Refer to the Information Displays chapter." Page 122 tells where it is in "Settings" _____________________________________________________ It is kind of weird that sixtyeightmk2 trip 2 has been farther than the car has traveled. Anybody else out there who has never reset Trip 2?

"There's a minimum balance of $10 and they add $25 when the balance is below $10." Off topic, but some might find this interesting. http://www.wlox.com/story/22175486/consumer-alert-thousands-of-atmos-energy-customers-overcharged OOPPSS we're SO SORRY we moved the decimal point 1 digit :hysterical: to the right. Ouch my $30.00 bill turned into $300.00 :drop:

Recirculate would turn off after a few miles on our 02 BMW and 08 Lincoln. I would usually turn it back on especially if it's over 100*. I can't convince a friend that the reason his windows fog up is because he leaves recirculate on all the time. I get in and he's wiping the windshield, I turn recirculate off and watch the windows clear. He says uuh thanks, but that little yellow light is back on the next morning. Every once in a while I like to mess with his mind. I get in make sure he's watching and turn it off then back on. :hysterical: -
What cool hidden feature have you discovered about your C-Max?
wab replied to armoredsaint's topic in General Discussion
We found a cool feature today, it's starting to warm up in N. Texas. Knew the left and right lower air vents were adjustable. Didn't even know there was a lower adjustable center vent. It was turned off, NOW it's on. -
No problems no bulb out ALL 3 upgrades easy!

People can be programed/re-programed. After many yrs. of arriving, putting the car in neutral, turning the car off, unbuckling, looking over at DW blink a couple of times then say "OoHh we're here" get out of the car check the tires...etc, she would have everything put together and get out. I would then lock the car. I had an inspiration! Now when we arrive I put the car in neutral, turn the car off, unbuckle get out and lock the doors. The look on her face the first time I did it was "priceless." :hysterical: Only took 5 times and 3 stitches  (I opened my right eye a few days ago :baby: ) to reprogram her.
