  1. They're providing a two-week free trial right now, and you probably are seeing that. See my thread on the promotion.
  2. Just saw an ad on TV announcing Sirius was turning on all the radios to receive their service for the next two weeks. Don't know any more about it, don't really care myself, but if you want a quick hit it may be there. Some info I found: http://www.wdef.com/content/stationblogs/joefrugal/story/JOE-FRUGAL-60-Sirius-XM-Channels-Unlocked/LWx8rIt7K0WJvw4SY9VSXQ.cspx
  3. I've had mine 10 months and have never even tried the fog lights! But I'm going out tonight and will light up the road and see how they work. If you see me give me a honk!
  4. A zero mandate would be even better, in fact, the best.
  5. That's what all the dealers have requested when a dead battery has occurred. As to whether they actually do testing or set up probes prior to jumping it themselves is anyone's guess. I suspect not! Good luck.
  6. Remote Start can be set to 5, 10 or 15 minutes duration in the Settings Menu on the left screen. Manual page 125. I love remote start when its 110 here!
  7. I don't have a whole lot of interest in spending a lot for one of these scan tools but do have this Bluetooth one on my Amazon wishlist for a possible future purchase. Works with Android devices and is $24. http://www.amazon.com/BAFX-Products-PIC18F2480-diagnostics-compatible/dp/B005NLQAHS/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=1VYZFBVSO1X0Y&coliid=I21WGBBTAHOV8
  8. Agree. Get you GPSM replaced and don't settle for less.
  9. Just checked Etis to see if it would let me in, unlike a few days ago, and found this: Outstanding Field Service Actions: 12M02 - SYNC WITH MYFORD/MYLINCOLN TOUCH - WARRANTY EXTENSION COVERING ACCESSORY PROTOCO L INTERFACE MODULE (APIM) Anyone know what exactly this covers, other than perhaps Fords "behind" re: Consumer Reports? Link to Bill's August thread on this referenced by Laurel below: http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/2752-fsa-12m02-accessory-protocol-interface-module-apim-warranty-extension/ What this covers per the PDF: APIM software updates and APIM module replacement warranty has been extended to five years.
  10. I don't see any differences in the white Energi, particularly I looked at the rear airfoil and went out and looked at mine and they look identical. There may be some subtle difference but I didn't see it.
  11. I believe the only data we have is from the poll and it shows most problems occurred in the SE and most for cars built prior to April 2013. Poll: http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/1294-for-those-who-have-had-12v-battery-problems/?mode=show
  12. I get the same message. It appears us sheep have been cut off, or is it just a temporary event?
  13. That doesn't provide the details that I can find. Is there more behind the paywall? Someone on the Energi forum posted "They docked it for electrical system, climate system, body hardware, and audio system." Few Energi's have reported a dead 12v battery IIRC, the climate system seems to work just fine, hardware is excellent, and the audio system is MFT and at least for me has worked just fine. All I can conclude is: WTF? Note: The battery problem survey done here shows 63 Hybrids with problems vs 12 Energi. http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/1294-for-those-who-have-had-12v-battery-problems/?mode=show
  14. Before you terminate, can you access the details of the C-Max Energi reliability rating so we see if it is indeed due to the MFT system problems? All those details are behind the CR paywall. http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/ford/c-max/reliability.htm
  15. CR collects a lot of data points from their subscribers and I think the MFT problems hit the C-Max especially hard leading to this rating, although I don't know why the Energi got picked except with its fewer sales it probably had the higher per capita score.
  16. For 8 months Homelink worked perfectly to open my rolling-code Chamberlain opener that I programmed the first day I got the car. However, about a month ago it started not responding immediately to pushing the button. Many pushes were required before it would open, and I can not detect a pattern (three pushes, six, it always seems to be different). I have tried clearing the button and clearing all buttons and reprogramming to no avail. The button that controls an older simple opener on the second door works just fine. Anyone have a problem with an opener that uses the "rolling code" security feature?
  17. At least they didn't put the Energi on their Not Recommended list, but still very disappointing for us early adopters. Must be the dead 12v battery problem [EDIT: Although few Energi owners reported this problem] that dragged the rating down, as I'm unaware of any major mechanical problems.
  18. Excellent documentation and a near perfect testing regiment. I was and remain a skeptic that these small fins would impact MPG but another 20-30 results reported by you, with and without them on alternative days for example, might sway me into becoming a believer. Well done!
  19. You don't get it back unless you're referring to over-withholding, then you would be getting a larger refund. Otherwise you get to credit it off the amount you owe and just pay the net.
  20. It's in addition to whatever method you use for deductions. So you are in luck if you tax liability is anything, but preferably over $4,007.
  21. It's a credit to your Federal income taxes in the year you buy the car. Just be sure to have enough tax liability for the full credit as there's no carry-over provision. Some states have credits too.
  22. We went on a 3,000 mile road trip in our Energi and, after having a Honda Odyssey with all the back seats out, I worried about the limited space but it all worked out by careful planning of what we really needed to take. One observation: the stuff I put in the back on "the shelf" didn't reach the ceiling (could still use the rear view mirror) and would have been the same if the large battery pack wasn't there. I have mixed emotions about the great deals on the Energi. One, it depresses me because I paid more, and two it depresses me as it indicates they are not selling as well as hoped for, but three I hope to see more on the road! We will save about $500 (net of electricity costs) in driving-around-town gasoline a year (vs the Odyssey) thanks to the Energi - love that, and love the car!
  23. The entire first page of the discussion with her several posts and the one that caused the problem has been deleted.
  24. On a closely moderated forum I am a member of, when someone posts something inappropriate or in violation of forum policies the moderator removes the words or sentence and replaces it with [xxx comment removed by moderator jones], with "xxx" replaced by the term that describes the reason, e.g. "political","obscenity","personal attack", etc.. This method is similar to painting over graffiti rather than letting it remain and hoping a "No Graffiti Allowed" sign will work. It's unfortunate that a prolific poster would feel the need to leave the forum due to a personal attack, and I hope she comes back soon.
