  1. This finally showed up on owner.ford.com under recalls.
  2. Looks like there is another recall is coming. DETROIT (AP) -- Ford is recalling about 830,000 vehicles in the U.S. and Mexico because parts in the side door latches can break and the doors can open while the vehicles are moving. The recall announced Thursday covers certain 2013 to 2015 Ford Escape SUVs and C-Max cars, and 2012 to 2015 Focus cars. Also included are 2014 to 2016 Ford Transit Connect vans, and Ford Mustang sports cars and Lincoln MKC SUVs from 2015. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/ford-recalls-830k-vehicles-fix-130748913.html
  3. yes, Just the charging cord won't hurt anything. I've also had a flash drive connected 24/7 for 3 years with no discharge of the battery.
  4. Those same two pieces came off on my car. I took it in to Ford and they sanded the smooth plastic before gluing them back down so that the glue would hold better.
  5. Maybe they didn't update their specs for the change. I verified my car before and after the update so it is working at > 62 now. Maybe someone with a 2016 can test their car.
  6. Ford reprogrammed hybrids in summer of 2013 to also have same top electric speed of Energi. It seemed to help mpg's for me a little.
  7. Here are instructions for changing 12v battery from the user manual. The service manual may have better detail. http://www.manualslib.com/manual/624812/Ford-C-Max-Hybrid.html?page=220#manual
  8. Do the Energi models suffer with the same fate on transmission failures?
  9. Saw this on ebay, they have several colors. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Leather-like-Car-Seat-Covers-with-Lumbar-Support-for-Ford-FO-250Black-/171999293922?fits=Model%3AC-Max&hash=item280bf4f1e2:g:dLUAAOSwFNZW1Ct0&vxp=mtr
  10. Which seats did you get? I got the SEL leather which has a lumbar adjustment (for driver only). I find them comfortable for 4 hr trips which is a lot better than my old explorer leather seats.
  11. Looks like Mobile One accepted the Walmart receipt for my rebate, I got my $12 check today. Only took 2 1/2 months. :)
  12. Here is one http://www.driveoemautoparts.com/oe-ford/dm5z58550a66a?origin=pla
  13. Well I was laughing too when I posted it but Paul wants more mpg's. This guy put a hydrogen generator in his prius to boost mpg's, watch the video. http://peswiki.com/index.php/OS:Bob_Boyce_Electrolyzer_Plans Its not that dangerous if you use the hydrogen as you generate it. It helps boost the combustion so you end up using less gas.
  14. Paul Try injecting some hydrogen into your air intake on the ICE to improve your mpg's. Diesel truckers are doing this, This place and others are selling them to generate hydrogen on the fly. http://hydrogengarage.com/ No I am not doing this. My car is stock.
  15. Here is my thinking on this, if increasing tire pressure gives you less friction to increase mpg then less friction should also increase stopping distance.
  16. Yes, I have non-nav 2013 and I remember seeing one of the menu screens which showed my latitude & longitude. Don't know if the current sync version still allows this.
  17. What what speed are you guys putting it into low going down hill to slow your acceleration? How does the engine/trans respond to that? Noticed around town if I accidentally put it in L instead of drive the engine really howls at low speed.
  18. I have tended to avoid using "hill mode" because I thought since the ICE was slowing down the descent that the maximum charging would come by using the brakes alone.
  19. No worries, I come from a scientific background so I enjoy thinking and discussing topics about rolling resistance, drag coefficient, braking regeneration, etc. After thinking on this some more I believe I was gaining ground on the prius because of the weight difference in the cars. The C-max weighs a few hundred pounds more than the prius.
  20. We drove over the Oregon coast range last week. On the downhill side with several miles of downhill I was coasting along in-gear and I noticed a older prius (2009?) in front of me. We were going about 60mph for a few miles downhill and I noticed that I had to brake a couple times to keep from getting too close to the prius. I was surprised at the time because I figured the prius would have a lower drag coefficient. The prius wasn't braking like I was. Later on I thought it was possible that I had maxed out my high voltage battery which would have give me less resistance but since we were on the same road at the same speed the prius should have been maxed out too. So the question is which car should win the downhill coast, Prius or C-max?
  21. Well if the goal is to save money, what is wrong with the stock wheels?
  22. And while you are charging they can try to sell you a new car. Surprised they haven't thought of that one.
  23. I see lots of empty chargers at Ford dealers, that would be one option.
  24. Now I see why my oil at walmart cost a little more, it is the advanced full synthetic but it has been treated for extended miles. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Mobil-1-Extended-Performance-0W-20-Full-Synthetic-Motor-Oil-5-qt/36019107
  25. You got a good deal, I paid $25.47 at walmart in OR. I also got a rebate last year from a purchase at walmart.
