  1. You can look at the battery voltage and tell if its charging, what you really need is to know which branch is drawing excessive current. That is very difficult especially if it is intermittant.
  2. Well if the car is on then it wouldn't run the battery down, the ICE would start every time to keep the battery charged. It probably could run for days in that mode.
  3. If the car is not honking when she gets back into the car make sure the car has all the programming updates.
  4. If you close the door the car will honk. If you leave the door open no notification.
  5. Thanks, it was probably on MFT but I was focused on driving and trying to find it on the wheel. I normally use the green tab but like I said it was not lit. I will try the ok button next time that is easy to find.
  6. The other night I was driving and received a phone call and when I looked at the steering wheel to answer I couldn't find the answer phone button because it was dark in the car. Some of the buttons on the wheel were lit up but not the phone button. Are there other ways to answer the call?
  7. Its pretty hard to turn the key blade, if your fingers are not strong enough try using a pair of pliers to turn the key blade and unlock the door.
  8. If some of the holes tore out you could go to the hardware store and get some stainless steel fender washers and just screw it back up. Maybe you hit something on the road to pull it loose. I would guess its not covered under warranty.
  9. You can turn it off, see page 122 of the user manual.
  10. Mine came on at 1 yr mark, only had 8k miles on it at the time.
  11. Just turn on the heater to max , that should start the ICE and charge the HV battery.
  12. Fuses can also go resistive, this causes them to lower voltages on that circuit. If it is a charging circuit then it could lower the charging voltage. In this case the fuse would also get hot. One possibility to consider .
  13. Did you consider getting an energi model?
  14. I took two of my grandaughters for a ride in my C-max the other day. The oldest is 4 years old. When we started down the road she said she was a little scared, she had never ridden in my car before so I told her it would be ok. Ten minutes into the trip she said Grandpa why is your car little on the outside and big on the inside. "Why" is her favorite question at this age. I laughed thinking it would make a good Ford commercial. How do you answer that one? :)
  15. Last year after reading about some of the cmax's with the dreaded dead battery problem I came up with a similiar idea to Paul's to implement if my cmax ever exhibited that problem. The idea was to get a smaller 12V battery small enough to fit in the little storage compartment above the original 12v battery. Then wire the batteries in parallel except with a series diode in the positive wire to the secondary battery. This diode would allow the secondary to charge when the car was running but would prevent the secondary battery from discharging. There would also be a switch which could short out the diode so that in the event the main battery was discharged you could "jump" the main battery and get going again. Never had to test this out since my car has never had a battery problem in the year and half I have owned it. Having a external battery jump box would do the same function but with my idea but you would only have to flip the switch to get going again and it would be out of sight.
  16. You may have had a heavy load rapidly draining the battery rather than a charging problem.
  17. Ebay says it was compatible for 13 & 14 C-max. BTW that was a year ago. Cheers
  18. Same here C-MAX Energi 2014- (CCG) on the ford site. But, Looked at the side of my car and there is no plugin door so I guess my car is still just a plain hybrid. :)
  19. I am sure they run the trannies prior to installing to make sure they are functional but maybe they should also rotate the entire transmission chassis to help ensure there are no loose parts inside.
  20. No brake needed According to the Owners Manual Stopping the Engine When Your Vehicle is Stationary 1. Move the transmission selector lever to position P. 2. Press the start button. Note: The ignition, all electrical circuits, warning lamps and indicators are switched off.
  21. Should look like this after entering vin. 14B03 - FUEL ECONOMY CUSTOMER SATISFACTION
