Interior rear washer leak
homestead replied to homestead's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors & Wipers
Yes, I just pulled on it and it popped off and easily snapped back into place when I was done. -
My wife used the rear washer today and said fluid was leaking from the ceiling by the front passenger seat. I pulled off the plastic molding by the windshield and noticed a fluid tubing junction was pulled apart. Pushed the two pieces of tubing back together and they clicked and locked. Temperature was 16F this morning so I guess it contracted and pulled them apart. If it happens again I will tape the junction.

What settings are lost if the 12V is interrupted?
-
Yes heat shortens the battery life but I don't live in AZ anymore. Where I live it seems like it is always the cold freezes that kill my batteries.
-
Did the cold weather kill the battery? I still have the original march 2013 battery in my car. How much did Ford want for a new one? If they only last 4 years I guess I would want to check the date code on the new one.

Mine just went down to 45.3 because of the cooler temps. -
Welcome, I'm also originally from AZ. Enjoy your ruby red.

My ford explorer had a similar problem. I googled the problem and found there was a plastic servo arm that had a habit of breaking. Was able to locate the arm under the dash and drill a hole into it and secure it with a cable tie with out dismantling the dash. It has been working now for 5 or 6 years.

Looks like there is another recall is coming. DETROIT (AP) -- Ford is recalling about 830,000 vehicles in the U.S. and Mexico because parts in the side door latches can break and the doors can open while the vehicles are moving. The recall announced Thursday covers certain 2013 to 2015 Ford Escape SUVs and C-Max cars, and 2012 to 2015 Focus cars. Also included are 2014 to 2016 Ford Transit Connect vans, and Ford Mustang sports cars and Lincoln MKC SUVs from 2015. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/ford-recalls-830k-vehicles-fix-130748913.html

Using Console USB with cable to charge phone
homestead replied to pequeajim's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
yes, Just the charging cord won't hurt anything. I've also had a flash drive connected 24/7 for 3 years with no discharge of the battery. -
Those same two pieces came off on my car. I took it in to Ford and they sanded the smooth plastic before gluing them back down so that the glue would hold better.

Mileage and Build date for eCVT that have failed
homestead replied to Automate's topic in eCVT / Transmission
Maybe they didn't update their specs for the change. I verified my car before and after the update so it is working at > 62 now. Maybe someone with a 2016 can test their car.
