  1. i guess the delay to stay on is a good safety option in case something comes into view behind you. sounds like no reason to not disable it as you will reach 6 mpg pretty quickly. so unless you absolutely MUST see the song name on the screen right after you put it in drive..... thanks for clearing that up for us
  2. for the best brake score on the coach i think it wants one long show steady brak so you regen the most energy back.but it's good to coast you just have to decide at what point do you start the braking to stop in time and do it without slamming on the brakes. of course it depends on the current battery level since if you are already topped off or near full on batty level you will lose the recharge. just my thoughts, i could be wrong since i don't own a C-Max yet.
  3. mtb, i dont own a C-Max just yet.:) just here to learn a lot before we buy one for my wife. i heard from others it should be showing a c-max not a focus so they messed it up for sure.
  4. how do you get it to work like that when you are moving forward? i thought all backup cams only showed up when in reverse. im going in to my VW dealer this Fri to finally get an OEM backup cam installed in my 2012 Passat. it was added to the 2013 car line but i had no choice to wait to order a '13 since my previous car was totaled out. can't wait to get it as they do help and I'm getting worse in backing uu these days. :)
  5. yeah i would agree some pumps are buggy and not maintained by the owners. they need to be checked and adjusted every so often.
  6. truly awesome orphoto. let's just hope the members of the 600 & 700 club dont have issues down the road for fuel pump or injector problems due to sucking their tanks nearly dry so often.might be good to not go for 600/700 on every tank but every other or more tank.
  7. I didn't spot a real C Max on the road today (6/4/13) but I did spot a HUGE CMax Energi billboard today while driving to work It was for a Energi and 1/2 of the space was was taken up by a pix of the car and then in huge numbers next to it taking up another 1/4th of the area was " 108 " regarding the estimated mpg possible. It had some other much smaller text on there I couldn't see as I was driving fwy speed and didn't notice it till the last second. It's located on the 5 Fwy Southbound right before you climb the little hill where they recently widened the freeway as you cross the line into Buena Park (the city where Knotts Berry Farm is located for those here non Californians). Look up and to your left and across to the freeway before you get to that hill. Its just south of the Valley View Exit. That's the first time I've seen a CMax billboard. I wilk try to take a pix of it if i can not crash to share with you. anyone see this sign in your areas, or one for the regular hybrid? they should do one showing the car and in big numbers the range of 611 for the hybrid and one showing 1400 or so for the Energi.
  8. welcome Vienna. if you haven't done so yet be sure to reset your lifetime mpg average in the menus so your overall fuel economy is based off your own driving and not the dealer or test drivers. good to see a new owner here. lots of good folks who like to be helpful to anyone who joins here. best of luck on your new car. let it bring you many happy and fun miles.
  9. if you have the new version of MFT i believe you can see the power distribution on the main screen if you hit the hybrid road symbol (shows a full screen pix of the car and the hybrid system lines), and you can also change your my view display panel in the driver's side to show how much your accessories are taking up your fuel and battery.
  10. yes it tells you to go to here instead with a link that takes you to the main inventory page
  11. best of luck with your new car pnw here's to many happy miles in the CMax
  12. stay safe mtb. if you have a smart phone check out the state farm app called "Driver Feedback" you dont have to be a member to use it. it's a cool app to test your driving habits like the cmax does, but has cornering which the cmax doesnt. you start it right before you head out. you can create multiple "trips/routes" and try to beat your best overall score on each trip. you can have multiple users to see who in your family is the best driver. it measures your: 1) acceleration 2) Braking 3) Cornering you get a score for each one and an overall combined score. you can compare scores. on the website it shows you can view your trip on the map but i couldn't find that anywhere on my app. braking is the hardest score to get a high value on. statefarm.com/driverfeedback the website only shows the apple iPhone version but the android version is available in the Google Play store. check it out. i think this app combined with the CMax coach, you should be able to increase your score. just be sure to turn on your GPS on your smartphone before you use this app
  13. do you have a portable GPS unit like a garmin (or access to one) so you can validate miles? Also the lemon law may apply for your car. bad dealer is a separate issue that should be reported to Ford corporate customer care hotline and maybe the BBB. check yelp.com to check their ratings from other customers to validate your theories. Also car could have been driven a little and person forgot to reassert trip before moving car 0.2 miles. odo cant be reset by a person easily but trip can. i sometimes forget to reset my trip counter when i fill up for gas so my mpg for that tank will be messed up.
  14. feels good to be updated and fresh and new eh?:) congrats and hope it helps you get a better experience in you Max.
  15. mtb - just think the kind of mileage you could get if you boosted you brake score :0
  16. try: inventory.ford.com issue for me is that it automatically puts in someone's zip code and i cant delete the number to put my own in and can't overtype either. (using my Kindle HD tablet)

    Fuelly

just make sure you copy from the BCC code area and not the html area box as the html one doesn't work here on these forums. it's counterintuitive but that what it is
  18. page is no longer valid/has been moved
  19. great post/story Chrismax we hope to hear more stories like this. wish you could have steered him to this owners forum as well but you did a great thing to steer them to the better car.
  20. Noah are you sure? I just searched the other day and found a few. what site are you using to search for them? we are still looking to get a c-max down the road but not just yet but when we do it will be an SEL 303a for sure. i know we may have to special order if the one we want is not available on a dealer lot and they don't want to trade with another dealer.
  21. nice find very interesting and makes sense. may be hard to do if you don't have a lot of gas company choices in your area (rural)
  22. congrats on your new cmax be sure to join fuelly.com to track your fuel economy. we need more high mpg owners to help raise the avg. 650 on 1st tank that has to be a record. we have a thread for those few here who make it to 600+ miles on 1 tank. be sure to check it out and discuss your methods to get 600 miles
  23. Anytime :) We are here to help each other
  24. Best place to check is on Edmunds.com and build your car to see what the dealer invoice is and Fair Market price
  25. Here's something of interest for those trying to get better gas in the winter: "Despite this, we can still minimize the impact of these winter formulations by following most of the sensible care and maintenance advice and also by selecting fuel brands of higher quality – which are commonly – referred as Tier 1 brands. As usual, the Shell brand does appear to offer some consistency in the quality of their gas in the summer months which not surprisingly also extends to the winter months as many of us can attest." found here: http://www.cleanmpg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17560 very good article even though its based for the Prius
