  1. Whomever you heard that from is WRONG. To start the ICE, just push the accelerator pedal to WFO and it will fire up.
  2. Sounds like the battery has a dead cell. Make them replace it.
  3. Both/all cars. Batteries should be serviced too.
  4. They have your vehicles engine listed as a 1.6L :drop:
  5. Dealers will tell you any lie they can to get you into a car they have. Use the Ford website to locate vehicles. Use the extended range feature and you can search nationwide.
  6. No power.........No brake assist. It's simple and just the same as any other car on the road today. You had one assisted brake application due to the remaining vacuum on the booster. After that was used it became unassisted. Conventional ICE vehicles are the same way. Without running the engine you have nothing to produce more vacuum and the booster will only hold enough for the one brake application. The C-Max had no way to activate the vacuum pump without 12 volt power.
  7. I've never used the lower end system, but the Sony system is worth the extra IMO. I've never streamed with mine, so you're on your own with that one. I use my Samsung Note II and can control it with the phone or audio system.
  8. To cheap to certify their technicians. That's why they can't sell em. I don't think they can even sell hybrids without the certification.
  9. I see the impact point. Glad they covered it for you.
  10. He said it was the left rear passenger window. Not the same as yours.
  11. No. The ICE will not run while you have EV battery power. The heater uses EV battery to operate the A/C compressor and the heating(ICE/ECT cold) element. Regardless of HVAC use, the ICE will come on after the EV battery has been depleted the same as all hybrids. The heating element will not be used to provide heat after the ICE is turned on. It will use the engines heat the same as any ICE vehicle.
  12. I run 0W20 full synthetic, 55PSI and stay off the freeways ;)
  13. My 2014 Energi 303A package was $27,400.00 after rebated and discounts. Why would you buy the Hybrid ;) No pano roof :spend:
  14. ^^^^^^^^^ The Energi only uses the heating element when in EV. The system has a coolant bypass loop to avoid heating the entire coolant system. When the ICE is running the loop opens and the element is turned off to allow the ICE heated coolant to enter the heater core.
  15. Check the maintenance section for recalls/updates. IIRC, they had a software update for this problem. http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/733-rear-lift-gate-latch/
  16. I would properly recharge that battery with the charger. The dealer may have killed with the key on and or door open and just charged it enough to get it going. I've seen this done by techs a lot. They leave the door open, the key on or the hood up on cars and kill the battery. They slam the battery charger on it for 5 minutes and park it. A properly charged battery will take anywhere for 1 to 3 hours, depending on how dead it is. Charge it to 100%, so you're not subject to another dead battery because of some idiot tech. I always service my battery every 3 to 6 month with my charger.
  17. All very good points. Yes, monitoring equipment is needed. It's a game of verification and isolation.
  18. As I stated in my previous post. Incomplete installation is not possible. It's either updated or it's not. If the update was corrupted, the module that was being updated would be a door stop. These cars have KAM memory that gets reset. The probable cause of his driving feel was most likely a system reset. When the modules are updated (depends on the module) the memory will also be reset. This will lead to a relearn over a few drive cycles before the car adapts to the driver again. People that have never performed programming updates have no clue and make statements that lead to more internet myths. It's amazing what people will believe :drop: I noticed the question marks after the posters statement and that make it a question. Not a known problem or truth. He was asking if it's a possibility........It's not, PERIOD.
  19. Finding a parasitic load isn't rocket science. I do it all the time on GM's, Ford's, Toyota's, Chrysler's, Honda's, and whatever vehicle comes into the shop with battery draw problems. Been doing it since 1976
  20. Impossible. The updates are 100% automated. No such thing as a partial update. The module would become dead if the software update didn't work. All my Ford updates are done using WiFi. Never had a problem with any vehicle using WiFi. I don't know where these internet scenario's come from, but it's complete BS.
  21. It's possible, but it's not gonna be cheap. Between all the components and labor, you'll be better off trading it in.
  22. With the Ford rebates on the Energi, you can buy it for the same price as the Hybrid. Never had this problem with either of my NRG's. From the info I've seen on the internet, the problems are more with the SE "VS" the SEL.
