I charge mine with the factory supplied 120 volt cord plugged into a standard outlet. I do have a 220V outlet to use, whenever I buy my 220 charger. I'll just plug it in like the 120V unit. Nothing special about it.

Nope. It's one big 7.6 kWh battery. The software controls how it divided and used. You get the same 1.4 kWh battery use as the hybrid model after the EV charge is used.

This is why I like my Energi so much...... I can drive it like a normal car and still get 1000 or more miles per tank. At first I would fill up every 2 weeks. Then 5 weeks. Now, I'm out to 7 weeks :worship: I don't worry about gas much anymore :happy feet:
-
I have a better idea........ Take it to another dealer ;) only after verifying the problem isn't accidental FOB activation :wub2: It's evident the owner is dissatisfied with the car if he refuses to do a simple verification test. Stubbornness won't solve anything.

Mine works fine.......... :happy feet: To bad your Ford dealer is able to fix your car. Some dealers don't have good techs because they don't pay well and don't care about their people that work for them. It's all about profits and people come last. Good luck! PS: I bet money they unplugged the BCM with the key on :drop:

Some people are never happy........ Buyers remorse is a common problem. Have fun with those imports ;)
-
Have you ever considered why they have 5 cars on that list............Electronic accessories. MFT takes them to the list. Sure those crappy Korean imports don't have any high end tech, so they never have this type of problem. The porblems they do/did and will have is crap builds, noisy engines, cardboard seats, cheap plastic interiors and hard to get parts. Remember all the Hyundai's........ Try finding parts for them. I refuse to own a POS from Korea. Enjoy! Any Jap car is better, but I still prefer domestics :wub2: How many 6' 1" Japanese and Korean's do you see ? Domestics fit my size. It's like buying shoes made in China........ They don't fit and they are JUNK.

Er, Uh! I think you have a T in there :)

Actually..... Hybrid mode only uses the 1.4 kWh section of the battery, unless you can regen enough back into the battery to add back EV miles. So yes, it acts just like the hybrid version after the EV charge is used.

Ford C-max least reliable car in America (Says CR)
drdiesel1 replied to Seth7721's topic in Lounge: Off-Topic
Nope. That will turn off the auto mode. It deactivates auto mode and turns it into manual mode. Even changing the fan speeds will deactive auto mode. Auto mode is controlled by the temp setting. Anything else is manaul mode. -
I'm in CA, so it's 3/50 here. CA has higher warranty coverages. We have a 10 yr. 150K mile EV battery coverage :happy feet:

Have you ever heard of the K.I.S.S. method ? It's a simple test and a validation of what's at fault. Unintended activation or an actual glitch in the electronics. I know owners that have 60 years of ownership and have had this problem. I'm not blaming you. It's just a 50/50 chance this could be the problem. You and the dealer could be chasing Ghosts......... :victory: No need to get uptight about it. It's just common sense and a viable solution to a common issue.... . I'm trying to offer an easy solution......... Take it or leave it.... It's not my problem. -
I drive it the same as if I was in hybrid mode. Of corse you'll get more mileage per charge if you don't drive it hard. I was able to get 32 miles before it kicked over to the hybrid side. If I added both before the ICE came on, I could get about 34 miles. Supercharging will gain a few more miles, but that another subject. Gary has a thread on the Energi forum on that. It works too. I know of people that never use gas and still have the full tank form the dealer. You could neve use gas, if you can do it all on a charge. Or at least multiple charges per day. I love it and always save 10 miles of EV battery using EV later when I need to hit the highway. It allows better hybrid driving with more EV time because it will use some of the EV battery power too. I think the ratio is 75% saved and 25% can be used in hybrid mode when using EV later.

I doubt it's possible. Never had one capable of that. Most of the time it's activated while in a pocket, purse or by children. Even the dogs and cats get in on the fun. We had a fun one with pennies. Car would always blow the dome lamp fuse. We could never find it and the owner was mad. He came in yelling on the last trip. I found a penny in the cigar lighter socket. It seems his little girl was using it as a bank while she was in the car and would remove them when she got out. I guess she couldn't get the last one out, this time. Never heard form this guy again. He never even said thanks ;) -
Headlights Auto on.....Auto Light Rain?

Some people want it all.......... Maybe they should go see the doc and get an implant for APPS, to run their lives :clapping: -
Never..............Would, I own a Koren car.... :spend: Just say'n :redcard:

I do. It's what it's for. Plug it and charge the HVB to run in EV mode. I get about 25 miles per charge on average. Those 25 miles add up to some major fuel savings. Anytime I drive my car it's mostly on the HVB charge. When I come back from my local short intown trips, I plug it in while it's parked. Add more local driving and it's gas free. I've stopped spending big money on gas. Now I spend it on my electric bill and it's way cheaper. I usually get gas every 5 to 6 weeks and can run well over 1000 miles on a tank of gas. If I never left town, I wouldn't need to use any gas :love_shower: You haven't been plugging yours in ? You have an EV range from 21 to 30 miles of gas free driving from charging the 7.6 kWh lithium battery pack. Plug that sucker in :spend:
-
Yep! I found it. You can turn it off, but it's default is on like you said. Thanks for the info. :hat_tip:
-
It's possible, but I don't what the conversion would cost. The trans is covered under the 8/100K warranty or at least by the 3/50 power train coverage. For coverage beyond that point, it would be cheaper to by the Ford ESP warranty.

It's easy to test if it's a FOB being activated. Get out of the car and lock as normal. Take the FOB out of your pocket and hang it up or place it on a tabel and see what happens. It the windows are still opening, then it's the car. If not, it's your FOB being activated in your pocket. I've been leaning over to pick something up and set off my alarm from pressure on the FOB buttons. Owners are always quick to blame the car. Most of the time, it's them and not the car ;) -
Headlights Auto on.....Auto Light Rain?
drdiesel1 replied to Adair's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors & Wipers
You are correct. They don't come on when set to auto sense. It not designed to operate the headlamps in internittent/delay or as you call it. Auto Sense mode. They come on with the wiper switch set to low or high with the headlamp switch set to autolamp mode.. Again.......... Read the SSM. 2012-2013 Focus and 2013 C-Max and Escape vehicles equipped with the Rain Light feature will not work with the wiper switch set to intermittent/delay mode by design. This feature will only work when the wiper switch is set to the low or high speed settings during daylight operation, and the headlamp switch set to Autolamp mode with a 5 to 10 second delay before headlamps/park lamps turn on. After the wiper switch is turned off, the lamps will remain on for approximately 5 to 10 seconds.
