Well doc I am embarrassed to say I am not sure. I figured it was the latest available as they just did it on October 16th and kept it for 3 days.

We bought our SEL in November of 2012. Our MFT was always perfect with wonderful voice commands that always worked. Our navigation was stellar. I dragged my heels fearing that they would screw things up when we took our car in for the upgrades. Our 3-4 hour appt. in mid October turned into 3 days. Now our wonderful system is just friggin' awful. It does not recognize voice commands and it is driving us crazy with its awfulness! I guess we neglected to test the voice commands as we weren't doing a lot of driving until recently. It won't even understand when I tell it to call home. It goes through some convoluted thing and then the screen comes up with a series of unrelated phone numbers instead of dialing home. I totally understand Valraider in Oregon who was so pissed off. This is enough to ruin the whole C-Max experience. The rational people on the forum will say to take it back and complain, and I guess we will have to do that but what an absolute pain in the butt as we know they will keep our car for days again and it will likely come home worse. We don't have any Galpin like dealerships locally--they all seem to be flying by the seat of their pants with doing MFT upgrades etc. Can anyone direct me on the way to do the master re-set? I've never had to go that route before. Maybe it will help.

Lemon Law & Buy Back Info and Experience
Laurel replied to salman's topic in Maintenance, TSB's & Recalls
Salman I hope they get back to you shortly with good news. Ford seems to be pretty slow with lots of things. We still are waiting for our cheques in Canada. -
I don't believe I have read anything saying the problem is resolved. Some people are assuming it has been fixed on the new builds, but I believe I have read of more than one new build with dead battery. I wish Ford would issue some sort of statement as I always have that nagging worry that ours won't start. But I am a worry wart.

Unbelievable disregard for the property of others and self serving behaviour as they don't want their insurance to go up. I am so sorry wab. Hope your wife continues to do well with her knee replacement.

Underside coating/protection ahead of winter?
Laurel replied to c.max's topic in Appearance: Detailing, Wash & Wax
Big Rocco you are very spoiled! I just brought in my Anna's Humming Bird feeders as the temps are to go quite low tonight and they little guys will need their nectar in the morning. Got to set my alarm for 6 so it is out there for them at first light and they go into a stupor at night when it is call and need their sugar first thing. Most of our neighbours in our townhouse complex are in the Phoenix area right now, and they really love it down there. -
Went to dealership to test drive but dead battery
Laurel replied to buffalofrenchy's topic in Welcome
Welcome Mr. Cooper. There is lots of info and discussion about hauling the C-Max if you scroll down to the heading "Cargo, Hauling etc". I think they have hashed out some of what you have written about. -
JWGrayson welcome to the forum. We drive our car very little compared to most on the forum--short hops like you. Sometimes we don't drive it for several days. We take the odd longer trip of a few hundred kilometers when going out of town. We have had no battery problems (knocking on wood) and I would be some peeved if I learned that our car would suffer battery issues from being used infrequently and I would be very vocal with Ford if that was the case. Our experience is the car works fine with intermittent and little use. Good idea that you are letting the dealership know--make sure you get something in writing that you registered your complaint and I think the only way to get that is to insist that they check out your car for the dead battery issue. Kudos to you for caring for your elderly mom. We did that too and it is very draining and difficult often. Not so many people do it anymore.

Jus how are you doing? Are you improving at all? You're so quiet these days that I am worried. Sending good wishes and still including you in nightly prayers.

Flatbat I am glad that things have worked out. I probably wouldn't roll the dice again either. It is understandable that you want a fresh start with another car. Best of luck and let us know what you choose. Lots of nice cars out there. -
Our $1800-1900 cost is also based on us getting something like 3 million liability just in case. So one can get it cheaper.

No Dave we have no private car insurance in British Columbia. The government makes us buy insurance through their corporation. So no State Farm here. We can buy third party under insured from one private insurer that exists. But the government has a monopoly. Our yearly insurance is about $1800 or $1900 and we have every discount possible for safe driving etc. I can't imagine what some of the youug drivers have to pay here--probably $3000?
-
Thanks HalBran! Car insurance is due here on the 29th so that will pay for almost half if the cheque is $850.
-
Paul I'm glad you're okay. That must have been shocking. Hope the damage is repaired quickly. Take care.

No cheque here Bruce. I was thinking of phoning this week.

What accessories or add-ons would like you to see for the C-Max
Laurel replied to mnrobitaille's topic in Lounge: Off-Topic
I understand. I haven't been to the desert at night very often, but I do recall that it can be scary dark. I love pretty lights and switching topic to Christmas lights, we just ordered Blisslights to light up our yard. They are beautiful and would be stunning in the desert. Isn't the shopping channel great for finding unique things? LOL -

I was surprised to read that you use the fog lights in Arizona. Is fog common in your area. We live on the South Coast of British Columbia and surprisingly we don't have too much fog here--we are about 10 kilometers from the ocean. I have only used our fog lights twice in the year that we have owned our car. -
Who is going to drive the Energi? Congratulations--a small bevy of beauties!

Homestead that is brilliant!

I have rolled down my window in parking lots and in our townhouse complex and shouted out "beep, beep". Don't know what else to do other than carry a bicycle bell and ring that. Honking is too startling.

Suggested tips for cold weather driving?
Laurel replied to ERPriest's topic in Hybrid Driving Tips & Tricks
We didn't need snow tires last year either, but we had my husband's SUV so I didn't feel any pressure to put them on. We are now a one car family so I thought I should buy them just in case. They make the car ride sort of rougher and they whine a bit, but I am getting used to it. We want to go up to the mountains and cross country ski so we will need them then. -

I'll second what Adair says. Turn your seat heat up, don't power up any fans etc.until car is warmed up. Wear your toque and gloves and you're good to go. The car is nice and solid and safe in the winter. The mileage will get better with the Spring thaw LOL. Do you put snow tires on Adair? My Tip drives like a Jeep with her snow tires on. -
Paul there aren't words to express my gratitude for your service. You are a hero to all of us.

Frank "In Flanders Field" is recited at every cenotaph across Canada on Remembrance Day. It generally is part of every Remembrance Day ceremony. We all wear poppies too and the Air Cadets, Sea Cadets, and Militia kids all sell them before Remembrance Day and the money is given to the Legions.

Dave I honestly don't remember their meeting place for sure, but I think it was a train station. Your photo did remind me of the all the photos of my parents during the war.
